    As a Mumbaikar (a person from Mumbai) this video really gave me a privileged westerner vibe.
    1) Mumbai is one of the safest cities in India.
    2) When u live in Mumbai you hardly go to the Gateway of India, I mean it's not an attraction, those people there are tourists in Mumbai. Certainly, no Mumbaikar would pester you for a selfie.
    3) it seemed like what u heard about Mumbai just made you more paranoid.
    Let's assume he was stalking, what would he do in between so many people? Where would he run if he stole something?
    Nah, the world doesn't revolve around you.
    Had a great time watching other videos, but the assumptions in this one really put me off.

    • @nicoleandmico
      @nicoleandmico  2 года назад +2

      I'm not sure we understand, are we privileged if we are concerned about safety? Our instincts told us something was off so we have to follow that. • @incubusk8r
      @incubusk8r 2 года назад +2

      @@nicoleandmico Sure you should feel safe anywhere you go. The assumption is that someone is out to get you. Why would they? Maybe the tourist just wanted to take a picture and strike up a conversation. from the many possibilities to assume someone is out to get you is just paranoia.
      Lastly, I am not the only one who feels safe in Mumbai. As travellers, you will meet many Indians in other cities just ask people which city they feel is the safest.
      Anyways, I've said what I had to. Hope u 2 have a great journey ahead.

    I am an Indian and I am really sad about the situation of cleanliness of our river and streets in India...
    I just request if anyone who does those please keep the plastic bags in your pocket or bag if u have one and just find a dustbin and throw it there...
    And don't think that if I throw what will change...Remember everything starts from 1...If u do that your friends and people around you will also change watching you...And this chain system will reach millions...
    Always remember that 1+1+1.......=millions (of plastics..)
    I just hope that you will understand...
    If u don't be disciplined don't expect that rich and highly educated(in terms of discipline)Indians will stay in our country...
    This is one of the biggest reasons upper middle class and rich go to different countries and leave citizenship to live especially Canada/UK/US/EU...
    Now please don't argue with me rather change yourself my fellow indian brothers and sisters🙂

Don’t talk as if your fear is the only perspective! And being approached by locals who want to talk to you is a good thing when traveling. Bad encounters can happen in any country. If I was on a holiday and people asked me for so many selfies I would be pissed too. People are not coming from a wrong place, it's just curiosity cause they rarely see white people but if it ruins your experience it's always good to say straight no than trying to be nice. If you see many security checking in India, even in airports, that's the result of incidents like 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Due to high level security, there haven't been any terrorist attacks in India since 2008.

    The sand (and consequently the water) in Mumbai is black-brown. The reason being that the land (and it's rocks) were created by volcanic eruptions.
