The Gribbles has a lot of life in it, even if some of the choices feel slightly coy by modern standards. It is dramatically lucid to the point of bluntness - the establishment of the feud at the heart of the story is powerfully articulated in this scene - and it proceeds with a haunting inevitability. Just wanted to say, the reason why so many people love reaction videos is because they essentially get to relive the excitement, shock, tears and/or thrill from a form of media they enjoyed so much through another person. I personally love reaction videos since I get to enjoy somebody's reaction to a plot twist, or a character' sudden death and such. But yeah there are people who suck the joy out of it, specially those reactors who just narrate what's happening or just act like they own the show/video and say they knew everything that was going to happen
Cinema Wins is fun because they react to stuff, but it's like "I love that shirt/reference/whatever" and the thought that that made someone's day is better than the endless negativity that surrounds a lot of media.
Same! I think there are some bad reaction channels, but also good ones. It's great... ... for people such as myself who don't have friends to watch things with😅
I agree about reliving what you felt, through someone else. Vicariously. I've shit-canned a bunch of reactors, usually because their reaction seems insincere...like they've already watched it before. Sometimes they'll say something stupid like "he's my favorite" (after the first time they were on screen). I also stop watching boring reactors (usually low subscribers, so I rarely even check them out). Some good ones I like - movies: CineBinge React Dasha Reacts Popcorn In Bed (especially when her sister reacts with her) Some good ones I like - music (especially 80s-2000s metal/rock): Julia Nilon Aileen Senpai Most favorite reactions? Nearly every person who reacts to the song Pisces by Jinjer. Watch it first before you watch the reactions. There's even a couple meta-reactions, as in someone shows multiple different people's reactions to songs, all at the same time. As in showing 4, 6, 9 channels reacting to the same song at the same time. Sometimes seeing all their faces at once, sometimes only focusing on one channel for that verse. Pretty cool, but I can't remember the couple channels I've seen do this.
Something I also like is that watching good reactions to movies I've seen a lot and really like, I basically am watching the good parts of a movie, again. Without having to rewatch the whole movie by myself.
I look down on internet drama too, but there have been some times where I desperately needed to learn just enough about the situation in order to pass judgement.
I always thought about if multiple people reacted to a reaction video to the point where you can barely see what was originally reacted to. This video answered that
I really like seeing other people’s reactions to things I have seen. I have seen incorrect summary of Metal Gear Rising reactions dozens of times, and he original videos about 5 times. It is just that good.
WIth that voice at the end I half expected it to turn into: "You are just another cog in the machine and the machine is eternal. Even you serve the Omnissiah."

I thought at one point you were going to do a "Reaction to my reaction video" where the first guy reacted to what the second guy had said about him haha. But even though all of this is true, there is something just really entertaining about reaction videos. It's like that feeling you get when you show a video/anime/movie to a friend and you are watching their facial expression the whole time. Yet, without the irritation of them being on their phone or not paying attention and missing good parts.
2:15 here we are reacting to Circle's weird fingers. As you can see they are arranged in a semi-circle, hence where he probably got his name from. Most likely it was from being bullied for those fingers and the gaping spaces in between them. I heard that they called Jerma's mom fat too so let's go over there and see that reaction.
Watching reaction videos is a guilty pleasure of mine. Yeah I’m a weirdo. I know it’s wrong and lazy for them to make reactions to other ppl’s content and then post it as their own content. I think it might be psychological. My close friends don’t like sharing content with each other for some reason. So it kind of feels like watching something you enjoy with someone else. There is obviously an audience for reaction videos. Maybe there’s others who watch them for similar reasons that I do. At least i also watch the original video and like it to show my support to the original content creator BEFORE watching any reactions.
I think if the platform attributed some percent of revenue based on how much a video consisted of the content, reaction content wouldn't be viewed as badly. Like if your video is 100% made up of my content you pay me 60-70%. And that scales down based on how much of my content you used and how much of my content consisted of the length of the video. For example it's a 100% meme reaction video with 20 memes, since it's a reaction video 70% of the revenue is taken. Then that 70% is split on the various creators based on the length of the segments reacting to them. Reaction videos are cheap to make anyway so this discourages them a bit in favour of original content, but reactors will always exist regardless
That's the thing I never understand with some of the audience of reaction channels, why would you watch someone react to something you haven't seen yet... Reaction vids sometimes help me notice something I've missed or something I didn't understand. Also some people watch reactions as a way to stave off loneliness, there's a reason reaction mashups is a thing.
I watch some reaction videos because I just genuinely want to see other people enjoy content that I also enjoy. But the people who never shut the fuck up, make unfunny commentary over the video/pause to make unfunny commentary, or just sit in silence are really irritating.
I watch reaction videos because most people don't have the same tastes that I do, I'm too much of a wuss to even attempt to share weird things I like because the people I know probably won't like it and I only have one worldly reputation. My brain gives me a feeling of excitement like a drop of water in the desert when I witness the enjoyment of something I too enjoy though, so I try to further the feeling by watching reaction videos. They're something to watch in the background, an excuse to rewatch a thing I want to see again, and extra insight into another perspective on the topic. I don't care if it's lazy, I can respect the hustle. Plus, there are people who genuinely put effort into reaction videos with editing and dissection for meaning. Some people have a guilty pleasure of watching pimples pop or something: my guilty pleasure is watching reactions. For some reason I'm afraid to admit that but fuck it. Hello internet, I like reaction videos, make fun of me or not either way I won't let myself give a damn because that'd be dumb of me.

The best part of reaction videos is how the streamer talks over the video with their "insightful" comments. It's even more awesome if you haven't seen the particular inane video in question. Then again, I saw this vid on SquareComics' reaction vid to Circle's vid about reaction vids so...

It’s always the react channels that always point everything out, yell when a thing happens, laugh when nothing funny happens, and then pause for fifteen centuries and ramble about f-ck all,and get a bajillion views.
When it comes to reactors, there are two types who're the worst: 1. The ones who just watch the video without any commentary or input, which is especially egregious for reactions that are longer than 10 minutes. 2. The ones who constantly talk over the thing they're supposed to be watching while looking at the camera, completely ignoring what they're supposed to be reacting to.
The best ones are the people making shorts/tioktoks who're just like "so in a recent video xyz said this:" and then move of the screen and just show the regular video for free content
