After watching this Recipe, I tried cooking it for my family and loved ones. THEY LOVED IT.... Thank you, Marco you're a great chef. So easy, so quick. It's a weekly dinner now in my household. Water and Stockpot... Genius!!

People don’t seem to realise that selling something is not automatically the same as selling out. Marco never made a claim that what he is presenting here is necessarily a fine dining approach but he HAS said on numerous occasions that he is interested in educating about food while also making cooking accessible to the general public for everyday cooking, which means that time and cost has to be considered. He has also often indicated a turn in interest towards simple, honest cooking and everyday life classics and pointed out that using stock cubes is just simply one convenient and handy way of making certain less interesting ingredients,than you might find at the upscale market, a bit more flavourful. I don’t think Marco ever claimed that stock pot or knorr cubes are supreme dining or the best thing under the sun, it’s more like they can be useful for certain applications and he wants to prick pretension about it. Seems to me some people are being suckered in a bit by their own presumptions about high and low culture when they talk about selling out. I am not personally particularly enamoured with Marco, it just seems to me that people are often ignoring the context of what he is saying, simply because he is famous for being a lifetime elite chef. Maybe there is actually something one could learn about cooking from what he is saying, aside from Michelin expectations ... That said I do love the stock pot meme and this video is a funny version.
Is there even the slightest chance that if you asked him in private what he thought about stock pots he'd say anything other than "They're shit, but they paid me".....
In all fairness that recipe in itself could have been a parody. It was ‘soup’ that was literally just boiled vegetables in stock with about half a litre of olive oil 😂

This actually a legit recipe in my country. We boil water and royco powder seasoning then we mix the broth into a bowl of rice,and there it is...we have chicken soup dinner 😁
