Thanks for posting this. This is the only video of me racing that I have, I loved that I got to show my son and wife. I came in 2nd in the 11x class. Not bad for a local kid from Arkansas,
David... thank you! This is Tulsa? I remember the gate was the same as the previous year in OKC. All I have are a few low-quality pics my mom took. I came in 6th in my main and got a 2-foot tall trophy, the 1st place trophies were six feet tall. This is bringing back memories I had forgotten about. Thanks again sir 🙌
Rodney Cooper (Oklahoma BMX Legend) @42:20 annihilated that 15 Expert class! Plus, later he schooled Richie Anderson on the finish line in the 15-16 Expert Trophy Dash! Boss. Rodney Cooper left us on 5.16.1990. RIP my friend.
Rodney Cooper “schooled” the Avalanche huh?....he was never schooled by anyone, he may have beat Rich at a race, Rich’s win % was 95%...25 Grands wins, 8 national titles and 2 world titles...get real...
@@woodystorey Richie lost the trophy dash by not pedaling all the way to the finish line. Rodney Cooper pedaled all the way to the line to snatch the victory from him. Bet Richie thought about that trophy dash loss more than the wins he snagged on the weekend! No disrespect to BMX legend Richie Anderson but he definitely got schooled on how to finish a race when racing BMX in the state of Oklahoma!
Richie's cruiser main was THE BEST lap of anyone. Better than ANY pro lap. That track was terrible ! Makes me super happy I stayed in California to race the ESPN race.
The hell its not...you must be thinking of some other race, this is the 83 grands...I was here too, my Bicycle Harbor teammate got picked up by Skyway right after this...I know this is the Grands because it's the second straight year Bicycle Harbor won the bike shop team trophy and it's second national championship...

This is fantastic. Thanks for the time machine, David. Hope you're doing well.

This is NOT the 1983 ABA Grands! I was there competing 16X Oklahoma City, OK
The announcer doesn't know where it is either, cuz he refers to it as the Grand Nationals.
