When i became a truck driver i realized i could never live in sticks and bricks anymore… i never noticed that the stuck feeling i had was being in a home seeing the same people doing the same things everyday
I am 6'2" and lived in a 93 Chevy Astro shorty (about a foot and a half shorter than yours! Loved it. She was unkillable! I am still a full time van lifer in Canada, now in a 99 Ford Econoline. The lifestyle just vibes with me! Love your videos and your music. Keep up the creative works man!
Thank you brother. I think it’s a good idea to make random videos like this for people like myself who are contemplating Van life. I appreciate the info and I’ll be listening closely for different nuggets you drop along the way.
This was a great video .. definitely needed and appreciate the helpful comments & tips. Part 2 please ... would like to hear about managing, entertaining, and caring for your pet(s) when traveling. Keeping them safe and comfortable, especially if or when leaving them alone. Stay safe and keep smiling.
Took me 4 days to catch up. Binge watched all your videos till today. Love your music, love the cat, love the vibe. I’m heading back out on the road in a month… had to fix my floor. ✨❤️✨ Really enjoy your Chanel
Cute B roll. I have a very hard time with scripted text but if I speak naturally, it comes across better. Getting started is the hardest easy thing anyone can do.
My favorite mic was the Native deodorant stick 🤣 Awesome, thank you! I would definitely love a part 2. All insight is useful. I am planning a fall official launch. Took some short (distance) trips with my pup, and am currently doing some renos/builds in my 1999 Ford camper van. Do you have any hacks or tips for mechanics and pet safety? Also, how are you feeling safety wise traveling the U.S. as a solo black male-bodied being? Are you running into any racial tension? Have you had to be strategic about where you go? #thisisamerica I have had some butterflies in my stomach moments watching some of your videos, but that's just conditioned anxiety/trauma at this point. Do you connect with any black nomad groups? Or migratory artist groups/artist residencies? Your energy is so positive and beautiful, so do you just ignore as much as you can and keep it moving or are you just a good vibe/cosmically protected angel? Or are you finding that more communities are integrated than they'd have us believe? (A fragment of my why is to see the true national/international community and connect with people/land/food production.) Looking forward to more videos, thanks for the tips in this one...aesthetics point taken. I needed to hear that before I get too too creative with my build, but I am also excited about maximizing my build for the art/healing work I do.Looking forward to sharing that in the near-future. *Ase*
I’m going to do van life because rent is high and I’m tired of paying 1500 a month in rent and I live alone. I have been following van lifers for three years now and I’m ready to take the leap. As far as finding work I’m a traveling CNA Med Tech and a phlebotomist. I make my own schedule. I’m am grateful for all of the tips that you’re giving because I was going to travel to Texas to get a sprinter van but there is a nice van in my town that’s more affordable. I’m so glad that I follow van lifers because it shows me both the ups and downs of van life. ❤❤❤❤❤love your channel!
Did you do it? I'd love to know how it's going, if so. I've been dreaming of returning to nomad life for 8+ years and am taking the leap (part-time, due to health issues) next year.
@OutdoorsybyNature right now I'm on the road traveling to different states with my boyfriend who's a truck driver. Once I get back home I'm going to do truck life full-time in my truck.
@@deloresray9100 That's awesome! It makes me happy to hear you've realized the dream and are planning to do truck life. I have a couple women friends who are truck drivers - they amaze me.
Hey Mateo, congratulations on 17k🎉🎉. I love your channel I love the content and your cooking. Food looks wonderful every time. Makes my mouth water and hungry lol. Keep up with the awesome content and the gorgeous picturesque views. I feel like I'm right there with you. Thank you for taki us along on your journey and places where you travel to. I'm enjoying it and I'm sure everyone else is to. Love Lars he's a beauty and such a good cat. He loves his daddy. I'm happy for you keep up the great work and before you know it you'll have 1m. Be safe be well and safe travels. Thank you truly an astronaut 🚀. 😊
Thanks Brother!!.. This Video is Perfect Timing!!.. I'm Saving My Income for 3 Months For My Van Purchase!!.. Really Helped Me Get Set!!.. Thanks & Take Care. ✌️
Hi Mateo and sweet Lars. Some very good pointers you mentioned for future van lifers. Congrats on the 17k and well done. Both of you stay safe my friend❤🐈⬛🧑🚀
I’m older and am right at retirement and would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE van life! I’ve had it all and just wanna enjoy the rest of my life now. You’ve been an inspiration.
Love all the tips, you gave me, I live in a Appartment and August will be my last month living in it, so my whole plan is to live in my SUV for a while until I get me a van
The library tip, I didn’t think of that one….and I used to study at my local library a few years ago…..I’ve been wanting to do van dwelling for some years now…..just haven’t gotten the nerve yet.
Hi Mateo! Yessss to a part 2 and more!!! I love your content. Hope to run into you in Lars someday! I just purchased my van two weeks ago. She was the ultimate gift and is changing my life. Pet Lars for me! ~Renee
Hey there Mateo and Lars! Always good to see your videos! Great subject to discuss! Take care out there - stay safe and blessed! Congratulations 🎉 seeing your channel growth. ❤😅
Hi Mateo and Lars..Awww i just want to hold that cat, so cute and what a personality.I just finished watching this video, and yes, please do a part 2,3,4, I'd watch them all. Thx for the info. I'm here in N. California, Sonoma county. You were so close to my area!!!!Looking forward to your next video..stay safe out there, sending positive vibes...
I’ve done simplistic van life a couple time now. Each season has been been beneficial for me and taught me something valuable. I actually plan to start again in 2024. I’m quite excited. Also I’m super fortunate to have a job I’ve been with for nearly 6 years; a company who has always been remote. Keep posting content. I enjoy your sincere vibe. 🚗 💨 ❤️ 🐱
❤Loved the blooper😂Do more of those! A new 👩🚀 but I’m here for it. Great vid. Can’t wait to begin my van life adventures with ya. See ya on the road. ✌🏼
I absolutely love your videos. I love your practical and honest input on van life. I also LOVE your intro music (theme song) Keep shining and continued blessings
So good to know how you got started financially as that wasn't clear in your early episodes and it's often a vague subject with van lifers. Keep keeping it real. I'm so pleased for you that you haven't had expensive mechanical issues as sometimes you can be dealing with a lemon of a vehicle so that is good advice getting x2 mechanics to check it out. Generally another great informative as well as entertaining post. My favourites are your clean up vids.🥰
would love a part 2. love that you mentioned libraries as they have been a hangout on my journey. were u switching up your mics to see if we were paying attention to detail. i saw you said you were nervous about this kind of video, you did it like you know what's up.
I'm not even interested in VanLife, but that video even blessed me. Thank you Mateo. You are such a beautiful soul. God Bless you. Yes please drop the part 2 and 3. I look forward to all of your videos.
Yes please Matteo, we need a part 2 and however many more parts you need, to share what you wanna share! Now I only found you & Lars recently, so maybe you’ve already made a video about the logistics & practicalities of having a kitty on the road with you and how to keep him safe, etc. Like how would you find a good vet in a hurry if he (God forbid) needed one? Maybe you already have a video like that and I just haven’t seen it.
I value all these realistic and practical tips . I am not yet ready to take the leap yet your videos gives so much inspiration. Thank you for this video. Hello Larsa.
how do you get rid of the feeling that someone is going to knock on your door or break into your car? where do you think is safer to park at night? 🤗✌🏼
On Part 2: I would love to hear about (or maybe this is a separate video) going through how you manage and find places to sleep in places you've never been. Like I've been scared to do Vanlife because I'd likely be too scared to find unfamiliar places to sleep.
Also, if you do want a high roof van, make sure to test drive some to see if you’re comfortable driving a big vehicle. Some people buy one then freak out when they drive it home and end up not liking it.
When i became a truck driver i realized i could never live in sticks and bricks anymore… i never noticed that the stuck feeling i had was being in a home seeing the same people doing the same things everyday
Skipping ads dont generate revenue for Mateo. Support him by watching all of his ads. ❤✌🏼
Thank you so much!
Time is precious
Oh sh1t thanks for letting me know.
I watch his commercials to support him and Lars ❤
@MarleeDecember105 I'm glad to know about the ads, will do!
It's so much deeper than ppl think I'm prepping and getting rid of a lot of stuff before I take a leap of faith ❤❤❤❤
I can’t wait to meet Mateo and Lars! Speaking it into existence!
I'm gonna agree with you on that manifestation.
I should have stopped and seen him when we went to Trinidad! We saw him and Alysa Vanilla!
Sameeeee! 🩵
So am I. He was that close to me in NC… and I couldn’t get the exact whereabouts… I do know it I’m Raleigh only 60 miles away. I was sooooooo done….
Thanks for the public library tip! I haven’t been to a library in a long time.
I can only imagine how many memberships Planet Fitness has from van lifers who simply want a hot shower! LOL
I am glad you mentioned the maintenance on your vehicle!!! I follow so many van/ car lifers that have zero knowledge about repairs.
Thank you brother. I think it’s a good idea to make random videos like this for people like myself who are contemplating Van life. I appreciate the info and I’ll be listening closely for different nuggets you drop along the way.
