Update: Brandys family reached out to me and informed me, they were made aware, and had a proper service in honor of her.
Her dog was also rescued by family and is safe!

You thought you were there for one last snow, but you were really there to show her one last act of kindness on this earth. You cooked her last meal. So thoughtful of you. This is an example of why it is so important to value others and do what you can to support because you never know how much your actions mean to them. Thank you for showing the world how we should be toward one another.

Mateo , I am a homeless disabled female myself. It means so much just to be noticed and treated like a “normal “ person. People don’t come up to talk to homeless. You have a huge heart and are full of kindness. You were an earth angel for her….i agree we all need to show kindness and care to one another. Thank you for sharing the story. Nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said. It’s crazy that you made a last minute decision to change your travel plans. That the campsite you wanted was snowed in. And that you ended up where you did at the time you did. It’s almost like you were meant to be there. Most people would say it was for her. But it may have been for you. Without even knowing her situation, your internal compass told you to reach out to her. Your instincts told you someone was in that vehicle and you checked on her and shared a meal with her without any profit motive, gain, or intentions. Just one human connecting with another. She was so grateful for your kindness in sharing a meal with her. You never could have known what she was going through, but your selflessness told you exactly what she needed. This breaks my heart to see, but to know you met her in her final days will leave an imprint on you forever. We never know what going on inside of those we encounter. You showed exactly how to treat people without even knowing. It just happened to be caught on video and I'm very sorry you had to experience this moment. I lived in my car with my kids and my dog. We went from having nothing to having a beautiful 3 bedroom home but I know exactly how fast everything could be gone. I never take it for granted. If you can’t be anything else, be kind.

@@adammm46473 I’m on disability but I was a single mom with 3 kids. I started small, I rented a shitty little rundown 2 bedroom trailer. It was horrible but I could handle the bills by myself. I took a little extra money each month & worked on building up my credit with secured credit cards/self. I put one bill (Spotify/cellphone) on each card & had it auto pay out of my account. When I started, my credit score was below 400. Over the course of 3 years I raised my credit score 280 points. I was approved for a FHA & USDA loan which covered my mortgage & most of my down payment. It was hard but it’s doable.

@@winterisbluay bro here's what I do if I'm near urban areas. Look for malls if you're in a big city there are drive in parking towers you have food warmth and shelter. Change up the malls here and there I stay on the gulf of Mexico so everything is within 2 hours or so.
Also here at can literally camp at the beach for 14 day straight free then drive an hour to another beach for 14 days just making rounds. Wal-Mart and malls are everywhere.

But you know what's beautiful? You made her coffee and a breakfast sandwich on the last day of her life. That was kind. And a kindness she received made her day brighter and she got to recieve some love. It makes a difference. She did not die alone and forgotten.

I live in an apartment with people above below and on both sides of me and have lived her 10 years and I don't know any of their names. I don’t know why these come up on my stream but I watched a couple. I feel depressed the last few days. I have a house have a little money I’m just disabled and a little lonely. I have a brother and my son that lives with me, my husband died in 2019 right before Covid. I guess we can all feel lonely even when we have people around us. Mateo, sometimes we come in contact with a person or people who are here for us in our moment of need. You were that person who came to Brandy in her moment in need. You noticed Brandy and saw Brandy, you treated her with the utmost respect and made Brandy a loving meal because you probably wanted her to feel better, seeing that she was living in a car. A meal you denied yourself, but would probably do many times over to help her. You were raised right and Brandy was very fortunate to have you in her last few days, someone to treat her with respect and love. Don't feel bad, you're a good man. Don't feel bad for knowing Brandy's moved on. Brandy has got all the amenities for life she could ever want now.
You don't realize how many homeless people are out there until you start dwelling in a vehicle. Good for you for actually caring though, I did a simliar thing for a lady I met while out on the road and we still talk to this day. The world can be a cold place some times, but spreading love will always keep us warm.
I'm 36, never married, homeless since the pandemic, and living in an old Toyota Sienna minivan now, despite working, and not addicted to drugs.
Mateo, you showed Brandy kindness and compassion. You did all you could do given the circumstances. You couldn’t have known her situation or if she had medical conditions. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong ❤

People who are disabled and senior citizens shouldn't have to be homeless ! These rents are just too high all over the country. We need a massive building program for affordable housing to be built from one coast to the other. All City Council meetings should be used to make the Council members aware of the need to drop opposition to affordable housing, and permit it and build it instead. Investment in housing is investment in society !

But i feel like he could benefit from knowing more about her story and that she’s truly free from the pain… she’s working thru it in heaven and wants to thank him for showing her sacrificial love at the end. There’s a lot there. I pray he will get the closure he needs whether that’s with my help or another source. I’m praying for comfort to rest over him.

I watched your video this morning and still thinking about it. My heart breaks for Brandy and what lead her to that parking lot to sleep. She didn't seem to be the traveling nomad like yourself but someone in a hard place. Blessing to you for the kindness you shared. You amaze me and I love your smiles and kindness and what keeps me coming back to your videos. You make the world seem a little bit nicer.

I've watched a lot of vanlife type videos but this is the first time I've seen anyone reach out to someone and ask if they wanted coffee and breakfast. I was intrigued. You have such a kind hearted Aura that shone through the coldness in your Van. It's so cute you've taught your cat to eat it's food on the cat scratcher ☺️but hearing Brandy had passed away sent a chill down my spine as we kinda heard her on the video. My heart goes out to that poor woman as I know there are many out there in the same situation. May God be with you and let his light shine upon you

The 'Bo' from 'Ivy and bo and me' is the dog that I inherited from a full-time nomad that I met in Quartzsite who died less than 2 months later. So watching this was very triggering. We bond to others so quickly on the road. It makes losses much harder. My heart goes out to you, Mateo.

So many people would have just not noticed Brandy in her car, or would have looked the other way, but you stepped right up to the plate and offered friendship, cameraderie, compassion and practical help. That makes you one in a million in my eyes, and I think you've made the right decision to post this to encourage others to break the ice when they see someone struggling in this way. (There but for the grace of God, go all of us). I understand how distressing this was for you, but maybe in time to come you will be comforted by knowing that you enriched Brandy's last few days with your kindness.

I thought you were probably stranded somewhere in the freezing cold & that’s the reason why I wasn’t going too.. You made me realize that it doesn’t take much to help someone in need & I’m sure some of us could learn a lot from someone like you!
