- With the news that Adrian Newey is looking to leave Red Bull, the Formula 1 team and drivers head to the United States for the Miami Grand Prix. Held next to the Hard Rock Stadium, the race last year was dominated by Max Verstappen, who cruised from 9th on the grid to take the win ahead of Sergio Perez, whose championship dreams that season took a downturn after the event. With Max and Red Bull on similar form this year who can stop him from taking another victory? With many teams also bringing upgrades, plus a potential blue Ferrari, this weekend's show is shaping up nicely.
Steph Wentworth is joined by Jake Boxall-Legge & Haydn Cobb as we preview the Miami Grand Prix.

I love how JBL was trying so hard not to insult Miami 😂
Having followed F1 for nearly 60 years I see it that F1 needs to take stock and get back to its roots. All the extra races and gimmicks and c*** is driving real fans away.
The Sprint is just a barely disguised cash grab
Absolutely! Sadly I barely bother with F1 now & dont even watch races now is another loss to the world in the greedy grab for money
its been like that for a while, its all about money and politics now unfortunately
This is the first season since '88 when I've felt zero need to watch F1 live. In fact, a couple of races I just watched "highlights"....
@@alancx523 living on the wrong side of the world, we used to set alarm clocks to 3,4,5am just to see the action. I now prefer to sleep instead.
It shocks me how f1 still works with Tilke. His style of tracks do not produce good racing.
Max ran one set for 45 laps last time in Miami 😳
Max is very good at tyre management which for some reason people seem to miss.
@@Dre_The_Millennialit is partly because he hasn’t been racing behind people for long and also can have more downforce than most other cars without it sacrificing too much top speed
Yay, nothing quite like 'racing' around a literal car park of a stadium in what is pretty much a swamp. No doubt there will be countless blue empty seats the whole week again until Sunday 1 hour before & during the race after which everyone gives up cause it's too warm.
This race broke Checo's will for 2023.
Let's hope it has been strengthened over last year
Been watching F1 since the 70s, there have been some good and some poor tracks, Miami is definitely in the section headed poor, it’s about hype and not much else.
Good Grief! Ferraris raced in Blue and White (traditional U.S. racing colors) because Enzo was mad at the FIA or somebody so he "didn't enter any factory team" (technically) at Watkins Glen in '64. There were factory cars, drivers, mechanics, etc. but they were "officially entered" by the North American Racing Team (NART) owned by Luigi Chinetti, the U.S. distributor for Ferrari. Many coveralls and driving suits were light blue (aka "Dunlop Blue") as provided by a certain tire company. Do none of the three of you know any history of Formula 1 prior to 2000? There are books and back issues of magazines (they used to be printed on actual paper) that have some good information. I'd recommend Road & Track and Competition Press (aka Autoweek) from America. Or, the book series "The Grand Prix Year." And, ironically, Autosport from the UK.
Yeah the parking lot GP is back, add all the tacky they can cram in!
Yeah !!
Racing instead of rumor 🏎️
I am dreaming of an Audi team with Hulkenberg, Sainz, and Newey. Imagine the shake up for years to come.
Praying 🙏🏽 for a good race
Don't stop XD
1 1/2 stop race.
Got it 👍🏼😂
Ferrari's aura is so insane they even look good in blue 👌🏽 Looking beautiful and ready for the weekend 😉 Let's keep pushing and come back stronger! ❤ ❤🇮🇹 Forza C² ❤❤💪🏽💪🏽 💚🤍❤ Forza Ferrari! 💚🤍❤
I'm glad F1 will be back this weekend but Miami will be the usual American over the top hype and show when people just want a good race. Which unfortunately this track cannot provide. So it'll be all show no substance and the sprint will show us exactly what we're in for on Sunday. Won't be useful in any other way or entertaining I imagine. God I hope I'm wrong.
As a Miami resident and someone going to the gp this weekend, pains me to say the excessive “glitz and glamor”(expect to hear that 100x this weekend) and shallow racing is so lame and Miami gp is everything that’s wrong with F1. It feels like really only 10-20% of people there are fans
Hulk is a quality driver, just look at his results prior to F1. Put him in a decent car and he will produce the goods. Only reason he hasn’t had this opportunity is he’s slightly tall for F1 so didn’t get a great opportunity. Come on Audi!
Indeed.
If Miami was culled from the schedule would we even notice? Its a shame we have this boring race in car park when the entire African continent has none and Kyalami is right there.
Steph is 😍
Sexist! Don't degrade her to being 'something'! This sport is more than that!!!

Hakkanen mclaren 99'
Maybe it’s the delusional Ferrari fan in me but I feel like they are going to challenge for a victory this weekend.
I'm partial to Ferrari as well so don't take this the wrong way but being delusional is kind of a requirement as a Ferrari fan.
F1 is now the ultimate borefest.
This is the problem with F1 now, focus is on the venue not the racing, couldn’t care less what the venue is like as long as the racing is decent
Also get rid of the sprint races…. Bring absolutely nothing to the weekend
I’m am American and have been watching F1 for over 40 years. F1 needs to get rid of the Miami GP and trying to get Americans involved with F1. Seriously, you want to kill F1 even more ? Get rid of this aero crap and go back to what F1 once was. Look at the Indy cars as they are a complete joke to when the series was C.A.R.T. It’s like F1 is going for the money now with the Sprint races and adding additional races. Didn’t NASCAR do that and how did that work out later on. Bring back the V10’s and get rid of the “clean bio-fuel” B.S. Additionally black ball Micheal Andretti from F1.
Have a good one.
4:40 the dude is pretty dense for thinking F1 is only watched live
I thought the same like what a narrow minded view point.
I've watched every race live since '11
@@cosmokramer4703 I have a proper job so I'm not home most Sundays.
Not being funny but the vast majority of people will watch it live in terms of viewing figures live vs highlights/replays.
@@d.b.cooper1 not even true, for about 10 years now.
Always complaining about the time zones.. imagine being an Aussie or American or Brazilian
👍👍
Yes, but the sport is, was, and has always been, fundamentally European.
@@db7541It’s called a World Championship for a Reason…just because the British think they OWN the Sport…they DON’T, actually an American Company does now…
Who said anything about who owns it? Totally irrelevant. I’m talking about history. Europe invented F1. You want its heritage? Germany. Italy. Britain. The FIA is French for goodness sake. America should not own our sport, they have Indy and NASCAR and whatever other rubbish, so they can leave F1 alone. I don’t personally care if races are in whatever time zone, I love Australia, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, COTA, Singapore etc. as F1 destinations. But Miami and Vegas are crap races that pander to the Americans and they need to go.
@@Mandykiss4500the British do own F1 always have always will do
Go back to spazcar
f1 won't last long in america, it's too complex for the average yank to understand, and when they realize that it's an international event and no american to be called the the world champion they'll soon lose interest, i wonder how many so called a-listers will be there trying to outshine the real stars of the show.
I rewatched the Las Vegas GP last night. Is anyone else missing the cringe that Horner used to bring to the radio after a win. He's obvious got reason to keep his head down--given everything that came out--but Max's wins are hardly celebrated now, no pit crew hanging over the pit wall (Which should never have been removed) no cringe Horner taking digs at anyone or trying to get Max to sing.
Yeah, the races these days are simply lovely for Max
Sorry, the RB machine just performs at the highest level in sport
🎉 🎇
Does that help ?
Rubbish circuit and a rubbish Sprint weekend format with Max as dominant as ever. All the makings for a rubbish weekend.
We need more big balls tracks like Spa, Zandvoort, Suzuka, Nordschleife, this track sucks. Please, stop bringing more of this shit into F1.
I do so prefer the F1 races (like this one) hosted in locations which have a questionable track record as far as human-rights and democracy go. Less sports-washing in F1 please.
Since when did miami have a questionable track record in human rights
@@juanthehorse2905 Its someone crying because the US wont stop Israel from defending itself.
Holding a race in a Communist country raises lots of questions ...
They wouldn't be able to race anywhere with your logic.
@@functionatthejunction hmm by that logic should the yanks also allow russia to 'defend' itself, or the Chinese against taiwan. interesting what people will shill for to cover up blatant acts of genocide stretching back decades.
