I just got a Theremini and was having problems doing Carolina's awesome Technique, here is what i did wrong. My pitch field adjustment doesn't do what hers does, to far left it is more like a natural Theremin, to the right makes it more likely to hit the note correctly. It makes it easier for someone to play. Secondly i to be able to use her technique correctly i calibrate it with volume at full, and pitch adjust to max left. Set the effects to off, and make sure you are at setting 1 natural Theremin, then do the setup. Lastly after set up set the scale range from c1 to c6 this allows me to use her technique as she explains it, depending on your hand size you may need to tweak this adjustment. Otherwise more range or less changes the amount of notes in the set field, less notes available and you have to move your hand further down the invisible string, if there are more notes then they will be too close together to use the proper technique. Carolina is a genius, and she teaches extremely well. i am so impressed at her video's and hope to someday be able to afford a lesson, not just to learn but to have the honor of having to have met such an awesome lady and Master of the Theremin, and Music!
thank you very very much ! i just offered myself a theremini for christmas, i play guitar and accordion pretty well (i’m professional musician and french singer) ... but i do.nt know how to begin with this new way to produce music... your lessons are very good. best regards from normandy and thank you again !
Thank you Carolina, I'm very keen to buy my own Theremin and learn how to play it. I have a musical background in piano and guitar so I can read music 🎶
Dear Carolina, first, thank you so much for the lessons which I just started attending. I’d like to ask you if the electric magnetic field that goes through our body could be bad for our health? thank you so much! I started following you
So many theremin videos on youtube, but not one video about the topic I need most of all for my theremin ;( How to get/choose a speaker that doesn't break/tear from the extremes of the theremin, mainly the low sounds. I played an etherwave standard with the ESPE01 module and tried using a Bose S1 pro speaker with an MXR ten band eq to try to remove the super low sounds in attempt to protect my speaker. It sounded great at first with built in reverb in the speaker, but 3 months later my speaker started having bad sound quality in the mid ranges of the theremin as well as a wierd electric lamp sound right before I get down to 0-beat which indicates to me I may have blown out my speakers. I thought it would be as easy as buying a theremin and a speaker but man I was wrong and felt really discouraged :( Update: learned that with 1/4 cable can use headsets in the "audio out" and discovered it's my theremin that has been damaged in some way, not my speakers. I don't know if keeping the theremin on for long periods of time damaged it or if the module broke but it hurts to find this out.
Are tubes in your Theremin or have they developed devices that are totally electronic in nature? So what you might even be implying is that there can be certain "unity" that is connecting the machine with you and your body? To be redundant; there is unification of some kind going on somehow?
I have the same question- I have the fancier Moog theremin, and a copy of your book, but I haven’t been able to figure out what kind of amp I need. My theremin makes limited, bad sounds w a guitar amp :(
Are you aware of Jimmy Page using the theremin with his guitar..(whole Lotta love) what are your thoughts on how he was able to be successful with it??
I was so curious about theremin! Even if I don't have one, I can't wait for the next episodes!!!

Hi...I just got my beginner theramin! I'm an Artist of clay, paint and chalk pastels! I chose the theramin as my first musical instrument! Hugs!
Thank you for posting.
Learned today capacitance vs. capacity. I think you are right on the scientific term. :)
Thank you Carolina, I'm very keen to buy my own Theremin and learn how to play it. I have a musical background in piano and guitar so I can read music 🎶
If you can afford a larger Moog Theremin than the Theremini i would advise it, i have the Theremini, because i cant afford a good one.
Great!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Such a unique artform

Fascinating.

Does anyone know which is the model of her theremin from the video? Thank you very much for sharing.
Excellent
Wait so you can't move your body while playing? I could never stand still while playing something. Awesome video!

Could you recommend a few speakers? I've got a guitar amp and it's indeed suboptimal.
