    Have any of you shot on a Hasselblad before? Although it's much slower and has many more limitations compared to other cameras, this thing's such a blast to use.

      Where did you buy your hasselblad?

      Yep, it is my main medium format camera. I have the 80mm 2.8 Planar, 150mm f4 Sonnar and a 50mm f4 Distagon. 😍 I've recently put an NC-2 prism finder on mine for some shots.

    Loved the images. It would be great to see how you scan the film. I have never seen that done. Great job! Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Happy moving...

    No instant gratification to see the images but you do get s physical image that if stored correctly can be used to produce images again and again with no fear of it getting lost or corrupted in a hard drive or cloud somewhere.

    No follow up Video? These were great photos and as a dedicated Hasselblad photographer I know you haven’t scratched the surface of the capabilities of this camera. Are you still using this system? If you are having trouble focusing there are interchangeable focus screen that have split image range finder like focus aids. Also, I use the one with a grid on them to help me get the verticals correct when shooting architecture. Cheers, Charlie

    I have shot street with my Hasselblad 503 with the 50mm lens on it. Many shots just using the distance meter to focus. Used sunny 16 for exposure with TRI-X 400 at 400

    Subbed, despite the fact that you had sold off your XT2 🤣
    Velvia shots are great, spot-on, yet Provia does have some kind of tint indeed, and it's not so contrasty, what's not necessarily a bad thing...

    i thought hasselblad was a bit slow too, but after i bought a focusing lever i don't find it any slower than my leica actually.

  • @andrews458

    I have really good vision (according to eye tests) and I have trouble with focus on my 500C/M too, and I always pop up the magnifier to be sure. Not done the video so maybe you mention what focusing screen you have later, but some of them are darker than others, so if you get a brighter one, might help too. (I think mine is fairly bright but not the highest level)

    • @JasonWebberYT
      @JasonWebberYT  5 лет назад

      I think my focusing screen is a little bit dark. I don't have a ton of Hasselblad experience so I don't have much to compare it to but it's not as bright as it could be I don't think. Do you have any recommendations on which focusing screens to buy?

    • @andrews458
      @andrews458 5 лет назад +1

      @@JasonWebberYT tbh I don't have a ton of experience myself, I'm fairly new to the system as well. As I understand it the earlier screens were darker, and then came out with "Acute Matte" screens which are brighter, but SOME people say are harder to focus with, and then they came out with "Acute Matte D" screens, which have D in the model name, and supposedly are easier to focus with (again, according to some people arguing on a forum). I've googled it and found a lot of arguments, but it's hard to tell who is right. I'm still trying to get a good handle on it, but I have an Acute Matte, but not the D version (it actually took me a while to figure out what I had for sure), and I need the magnifier most of the time - if I'm just looking through the viewfinder without it, I'm trying to focus on a 6cm area that's maybe 12 or 18 inches from my eye, so I mean, no matter what your vision is like, that's such a small area.
      There are so many screens and some are pretty pricey, so I want to really get more educated before ever switching, but the Acute Matte D 42217 seems like maybe the best one - it has grid lines and a split-image rangefinder spot, but sells for $400+, and it'd stink to get it and then realize that it works differently than I think, or that it's not a massive improvement over what I already have haha!

    • @JasonWebberYT
      @JasonWebberYT  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the tips! And yeah, exactly my thoughts. They're waaaayyyy more expensive than you'd think for a flat piece of glass. Wouldn't want to spend a few hundred bucks and realize it's no better than what you already have.
      I'll do some shopping around and see what I can find.. maybe something with a decent return policy 🤔

      Hi, I had the same problem with focusing and I bought a PME_3 prism. Made all the difference and this thingy is cheaper than a fancy focus screen.

      Thank you! I use the Lumu app on my phone. It has a spot meter function so in harsh lighting I'll measure exposure for the shadows and measure for the highlights and then meet it somewhere in the middle

    The best way to love a Hasselblad
    is not listening to the sound of the shutter
    but to watch the quality of the images made by it.
    You are talking a lot of the wanker's nonsense now.
