- Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays my friends! Today's video is a two-for! We are testing out a vintage gadget and making some cute and yummy spritz cookies. The gadget is my 1955 cookie press. I hope you enjoy this fun little Christmas video! I wasn't able to film my gingerbread cookie recipe, but I will list it below for you!
Spritz cookie recipe:
1 cup butter- softened
1 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/2 cup flour
Preheat oven to 375
Cream butter, sugar, salt. Beat in egg and extracts, add flour graually. Bake 6-8 minutes. Do not brown.
Glaze-
1 cup confectioners sugar
2-3 Tbsp water
Soft Gingerbread cookie recipe:
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter softened
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 TBSP water
1/4 cup molasses
4 TBSP white sugar
Preheat oven to 350
Mix together dry ingredients- flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg, then stir in water and molasses.
Gradually stir in the dry ingredients
shape the dough into walnut sized balls and roll them in the remaining 4 TBSP of sugar. ( I used some gold sugar sprinkles this time and they turned out really pretty)
Place cookies 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. No need to flatten them.
Bake for 10-12 min, allow cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

I know when they made that gadget in 1955 they never in a billion years could have imagined a Women would using it in the year 2019 lol !
I don’t know, those things were made to last! Haha!
Laci That was when I was going to say
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor cool 😇
hey!!!! why does it have to be a Women using it?? I'm a 60yr old man who bakes Christmas cookies every year, for the last 35 yrs!! I bake the exact same cookies my mom made, from her cook book. I have 2 of these cookie press's, 1 used and 1new in the box.
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door the gadget in the video looked cool👍
I found one of these yesterday in a local charity shop (Sears brand), still in the box with all of the pieces. I figured it would be a bit pricey considering all of that, but when I asked the little old gentleman behind the counter how much he was asking for it, he said "Oh, just give me a dollar and bring me some cookies one day." I gave him a hug and $5 then giggled like a loon all the way home! 😁 He's definitely getting a tin of Christmas cookies every year from now on! 🍪
I have this cookie press and have used it every Christmas all my life. I inherited all my moms kitchen items when she passed away. I was 7. So I've hung onto her things and used them and remember her like that. Its so nice watching you use this press. I bought a new one once and hated it so back to my old one. Love your videos.
I can just imagine this being a commercial. Particularly where the husband walks in and taste the cookies and asks, “Honey, how did you make these wonderful cookies?”
"With this *brand new antique 50's gadget!* Only for $999! Get your's today!"
Yeah totally brand new.
🤣my husband in 2021 is like your making the Christmas cookies right……😉
Then she puts a few on a plate and gets a glass of milk for him. Then swaps it out with a smoking jacket, slippers and a pipe lol. I wish.....
Thanks LacI!This is another gadget you demonstrated that my mom had. She had that exact Mirro set and we had red and green cookies of all those cute shapes every Christmas up into the 1980s! Love your outfit btw.
I am a new subscriber and I was born in 1955 and you are just adorable! I love your 50's home and especially that kitchen! I love that you do what you love and don't care what others think. We should all do that. You and your family stay well in all this craziness of the virus.
Welcome!! Thanks so much!! Ahh you too. Take care!
OMG!! That's the cookie press I grew up with in the 60s and 70s! I remember my mom would let me use it when she was making Christmas cookies. The new ones make the same style cookies but using the old fashioned spritz cookie press brings me back to my childhood.
The old ones work much better !
@@kathleenmacellis7253 yeah, I prefer the old one with the turn nob definitely.
My aunt dorothy was a huge cookie maker. Whenever I was over as a kid, she had me grab the bowl with the mix in it and stir it up with a wood spoon to help her out
Love your nostalgic cooking videos with recipes, and the vintage gadgets! Love all your videos but would love to see more recipes .
I showed my roommate this video. He remembered his family using this same press when he was growing up to make cookies. I just ordered one off Ebay so that we may add this tradition to our repertoire.
PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT YOUR STOVE AND FRIDGE FROM. I LOVE!!!
Also. You’re very gorgeous. Love your videos
My stove and fridge were both found locally. The fridge on local classified ads and the stove was sitting out in someone’s driveway! Thank you!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor 😇the stove reminds me of father knows best sitcom
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door the stove looks similar to the Donna reed show 🍿
Omg I'm love with u guys, can u adopt me!?!??! Ughhh, take me back to the 50s with u..!!
Haha thanks babe!
Cute comment.
My mother used this exact press to make cheese straws.
Oh fun!
Oh my goodness! Made these last night // didn’t change a dadgum thing and they are perfect! Absolutely perfect! I have a Swedish cookie press and they turned out beautifully!
Please do a brooch collection video. That Santa is so stinkin' cute! :)
I am planning that one for sure! Thanks lady!!
My aunt gave me her (barely used) cookie press, and it's so nice to find someone who has the same one! I know the newer ones are almost idiot proof, but there's something about telling people I used an original press that makes it more impressive 😆
Im Enjoying myself w/your channel
I found one of these presses at the thrift store for .99 cents. I wasn’t exactly sure what it was or how to use it until I found your video, thank you.
Used the same cookie press every year for Christmas butter cookies ever since I was a child. My grandmother had one and passed on the tradition to my father. Was able to find one for myself and continuing on the tradition. Cant imagine using anything else.
I love your vintage kitchen!! The vintage gadgets are so cool. Everything back then was made to last, not like today's things!!
Thanks so much! Oh for sure. Things were so well made.
Awww what a nice gift!! And its the cutest kitchen gadget I've seen.
I’m so happy I found this video! I just got my grandma’s vintage cookie press and it looks just like yours!
My 96 year old neighbor gave me this exact same cookie press, in it's original box, six years ago. unfortunately the book had all the pages stuck together so I don't have any of the original recipes. Thanks for the video and the recipe, I'm making them now! By the way very cool channel.
Great time with you in your vintage world, in which I love. Thank you for making this video on using this press. My Mother in Law gave me hers, and I've not used it yet. But tomorrow is the day for cookies!!!!! Yaaaaay. Cool daddy o!!! Merry Christmas 🌲🌲🌲
Oh. My. God.
My grandmother used this very contraption (which I haven't even thought about this millennium) to make her Xmas cookies back in the early-80s: She told me it was old but 1955?!? Holy Moly!!!
Now I have to find one... That booklet likely contains her "secret" recipes! 🙂
I am going to watch this video during the holidays. Reminds me of my childhood home.
Wow your cookies are lovely!!! You are just frozen in time amazing!!!!!!
I make the Christmas 🎄 cookies every year. Yummy with almond extract. One thing I learned while growing up was to not let the cookie dough be extra thick. The top will pop off if it is too thick. Enjoy! 😊. Also have the donut attachment. Also, I put the food colouring in with the wet ingredients, then it gets mixed in evenly. (That’s hen using just one colour of course.). 😉
Omg I love her videos, I love her style, and she is so gorgeous, this channel is now one of my favourites ❤
You would love me kitchen, it’s filled with all sorts of vintage stuff that I use all the time. Egg cooker, ice crusher, Salad Master (the original food processor), lots of pastel Tupperware.
My mom had one like this my whole life it was mis placed when she passed 5 years ago hope I find it eventually as I weed through the boxes of stuff. I’m in my 50”s now.
This is so cool you using 1950s appliances. Isn't it a shame we can't go into a time machine and visit that decade? I'm a bit jealous of my father who grew up in the 50s and 60s.
I love this vantage woman so much for some reason! I wanna do my hair like hers but I can’t 😞
I used one in the 1960 s at my girlfriends house. Her mother let us bake by ourselves at age 10. I love that gadget!
How fun!
I remember my Mom and Grandma having one of those Cookie Presses
My mother had that exact same one, and now I have it:-).
Yes have my mom's from the 1950s I still use it
What a kind sweet person you are. Love every video of your show. 🎄🌹
I inherited my Grandmothers press, it's the exact same one! I use it every year at Christmas... Love it!
I bought this same press today for $1.50! In the box and everything.. cannot wait to get baking 😊
This is such a throw back!! My mom, grandma and I use to always make these cookies for Christmas with this press!!! One of my fav Christmas memories!!❤️
Ahh how fun!!
Love the video and thanks. I have my Mom's and have never used it so this was very helpful and I will be making cookies this Christmas with my grandkids!
Love this! Gives me such a homey, cozy, feel. Like being a kid and having your mom home making treats and its a perfect sunny day.
Ahh yay! I’m so glad!
I just ran across your channel and wanted to say everything about it makes my heart warm! Why am I so nostalgic for an era I didn't live in? Lol I absolutely love your kitchen! I keep all sorts of vintage electronics around because their design aesthetic is just so cool.
OMG! My mom gave me her cookie press. I remember her getting it in the mail around 1965 or so. It looks just like yours. And yes, I use it to make Christmas cookies.
I have this exact one and I have never used it. I am so excited to make cookies for Christmas with it. Thanks so much for showing me how to
I have the same press which Was also given to me! I found another one at a thrift store and bought it for my daughters. Merry Christmas 🎄!
Ok well now I'm on the hunt for a cookie press! Also, TY for the recipe ☺🎄💖
Yes! You need one!!
Nice job with the cookie press. My mom gave me hers from the 50s. I couldn’t believe how easy it is to use. The condition of your box is amazing, totally mint. My mom used her cookie press a lot; the box is in rough shape but I keep it for sentimental reasons. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! You’re right. Super fun and easy to use! Yeah I couldn’t believe it when she gave it to me. Pretty much unopened!
I'm so in love with your channel
Thank you!!
I LOVE these gadget videos! And your channel!
I found the exact press a couple years ago is a thrift store. I picked it up because it looked so fun. I plan to make Christmas Cookies today. Thank for the tutorial and the recipe,
omg i freaking love your channel
Thanks babe!
That is so awesome. That is what my mom and I would use every Christmas!
Can we just all agree she loves to cook? Or bake? Also I subscribed!
Merry Christmas to you and family! Hope you had a glorious day!
Thank you so much!! I wish you and yours a merry Christmas!!
My mom has this same cookie press, and made these cookies every year for Christmas!
How fun!
My mom makes these for me every Christmas! Love your videos.
Love your kitchen and cookie making gadget love brooch too hugs and love
Haha those cookies taste good too! My mom used to make those!
Those cat eye glasses, freaking love them
I have the same cooky press, it belonged to my grandma. She didn't use it much but I have and made a bunch of spritz cookies last Christmas. I plan to make more this year too
Oh fun! I love using it for Christmas cookies!
Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones! I am definitely going to be on the look out for one of these cook presses. It looks like fun to use and makes the cutest cookies. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful kitchen.🙏🎄☃️
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas! Oh yes, definitely pick one up if you find one. They are a lot of fun!
What a wonderful gift 👏🏻👏🏻
Now I need a cookie press. You look so cute. I need to recreate this video for my family.
Can you please more vintage gadget videos i love to watch you do them bc my grandpa used to tell me all of the time the fun cooking gadgets they used
My Mom still uses this EXACT same Spritz Maker... Everytime we go to a thrift store... We will buy a vintage Spritz Maker.. my mom has 5 now.. ....
OH.. Have you found a vintage rosette maker???? That was another ”must have” holiday treat my mom made!!!!
I have this one from my mother I love it stay safe 👍
Why 5? It's not like they are going to break?
I could imagine a mom doing this for the PTA bake sale or maybe for their child’s classroom Christmas party where the students brought home a signup list and parents could choose 2 things they were willing to help with supplying (in case choice 1 was taken up) and they picked cookies cause they wanted to use their cookie press maybe that their husband bought them earlier in the week.
Your Spritz cookies turned out so good! I’ll have to follow your recipe next time!! ❤️❤️
I am an old soul! I absolutely love this channel, new subscriber! Love your style! Can't wait to see all the videos!
You are adorable. My Mother had a cookie press just like that and she always wore an apron.
Thanks babe! Oh how fun!
I swiped my mother’s spritz cookie press when I got married. If I had it to do over again, I would have grabbed her cookie cutters too. lol
They look great and sound yummy. Super cute outfit!
Thanks babe!! They were yummy!
How gorgeous! I feel like they were much more ingenious back then in terms of more everyday items, like your cookie press. I know we have computers and AI and space travel, but I think everyday contraptions like this lack imagination in the 21st Century.
Oh for sure!! Attention to detail on everyday things was the best!
Luck u! I've always wanted 1 of those in usable shape.
CUTE dress!
I had the cookie press, don’t know what ever happened to it. Those were the only Christmas cookies I used to make. I didn’t have a fancy mixer though, much harder mixing them by hand.
Merry Christmas, Laci! Hope you’re having a good one.
The cookies look great, I have a cookie press and it’s so much fun even though it’s sadly modern.
Merry Christmas sweetie!! Thank you! They are really fun to make! Sometimes modern reproduction is just as good!
What a super, retro gadget doll! I love how the cookies turned out! Happy Holidays lovely friend! Xxx
Yay!! Thanks so much! Happy holidays beauty!!
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door 😘
OMG! I was just describing this press in a comment to your doughnut press video!
I too have one of these, the cookies are fun to make and delicious! Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas!!!
Oh awesome! They’re so fun huh?! Thanks so much! Merry Christmas!
The cookies look very cute! Love your chip & dip Pyrex!
Thanks so much! They were pretty yummy too!
Such a great video! Thank you for sharing your process!!
So glad you enjoyed!
I not absolutely positive, but I think they (Mirro) were making these cookie presses long before 1955. I love these Spritz cookies, both making them & eating them. My Mom would pour icing on them & I would shake on the candy sprinkles. Good times . . .
You should make ASMR videos. You have a very soothing voice and a calming demeanor. Great video!
yes. good. i like this content. amazing.
Looks good😇
I think it’s really nice that you genuinely care about your followers and you take your time to reply to people’s questions. ♥︎ I don’t see a lot of you tubers that actually answers people’s questions and I feel that their channels just turn out to be not personal anymore. Because they simply aren’t interested in what people think.
Question: so does the cookie press come with different shapes?
Thanks so much! I sure try to! Yes. The cookie press has several different shapes. So fun!
YAY!!! This was such a fun video! I'd like to attempt these cookies someday..of course I'll need a cookie press first..😂
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! I’m sure you will find one!
You go girl. Adore the apron and merry Christmas.
Ahh thanks so much!! I was so excited to find this apron!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor It's an awesome apron.
I hope you had an amazing Christmas!
Thanks so much babe!! I hope you did as well!!
Thanks for sharing😊
I am downsizing, and found the cooky press with the frosting gadgets but don't remember using it...RUclips to the resue😂
I was wondering have you used the Mirro frosting gadget? Unfortunately I haven't found any videos on Mirro vintage frosting gadget.
Again, thanks😊
Looks delicious 😌
I seriously want to be best friends with you! ☺️
You look beautiful 😮!
My grandma gave me one and I would gave never known if I didn’t watch ur video’s
Very good
Thank you!
I loveee you your amazing!!! Maybe a tutorial on how to do your hair???❤️❤️❤️
You're so cool!
Beautiful outfit at intro 👍
I have two of these awesome gadgets! One of them has a smaller press for fillings for donuts. I had waaaay too much fun making these cookies. I made like 4 dozen...... 😳
Is your stand mixer modern??
Oh nice!! Haha right?! It can quickly get out of hand 😂
Yes, my kitchen aid is a modern one. I have a vintage sunbeam mixer coming my way soon from miss Betty Jean! I’ll have to do a video with it when she gives it to me.
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door I have 2 vintage sunbeams! They’re great!! The bowls are super sturdy! One of mine is actually on the cover of the Betty Crocker cook book! Lol
Oh cool!
