Top Tip : When slicing refrigerated dough, the flat icing knife works wonders, I have a small icing knife for cupcakes that works a dream, instead of your veg and meat cutting knives. I love baking. I love this Video !!!
Happy New Year - I’m not sure about this “helpful” tool. We used to just make these type of refrigerator cookies by putting the dough on waxed paper and wrapping it up (like a Christmas cracker basically). Once chilled you just unwrap and slice to desired thickness.
We did that, too!
Same here. We made probably around 100 rolls, at least, every year. Refrigerator cookies are so good. So many ways to make them.
Interesting Amy 📼
Hard to believe it's been over a year already since I've been following you! I'm so glad I found you because it reminds me of taking a trip back to my childhood! Happy Holidays!
Ahh yay! Time flies huh? Happy holidays!
Laci, did you notice how the manufacturer of that mold spelled the word "cookie"? On the box that the gadget came in, it was spelled, "cooky". I found that interesting. Fun video!
Yes, that is one way of spelling it back in the day. I have seen this spelling in my older cookbooks :)
I came here to say the same thing! What's with the weird way of spelling "cookie", "cooky"
same, I have some vintage cookbooks and it's spelled cooky vs cookie
I love your outfit, especially the brooch! Hope you had a merry Christmas!
Ah thanks so much!! You too!
Same! So cute🥰
Merry Christmas, Laci Fay!! Your decorations are ON POINT!!
Thanks so much!! They make me happy 😊
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor we wish you a merry Christmas and happy new year ⭐️
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor hi laci I am a big fan of your show
Hi Laci! That does seem like a handy tool!
I haven't baked cookies in a long time. One time I made a good patch and then the time, it didn't turn out very well...
Btw - here is a fun tip! If anyone has the abilitiy to turn whatever devices you are watching Laci's videos, you can turn it to grayscale! Fun to watch your videos black and white! Lol
Ok now New Year's Eve party at Laci's house! Jk🤣
Happy New Years!
The mold "is very basic . . . it's red that makes it feel like holidays I guess!" That was so funny, but a nice gadget anyway. The decorations are just beautiful and so nostalgic. I really liked the miniature house. Happy Holidays Laci Fay to you and your family!
Love your outfit. The cookies look yummy. Love your Christmas decorations. Thank you for sharing and blessing me. Merry Christmas and love from Texas
Ahh the smell of butter, vanilla and light machine oil as the mixer runs… brings back good memories!!
Hahaha. So true. That's great! Indeed......it brings back good memories. Thanks for your comment.
Merry Christmas Laci!! 🎄☃️ The cookie mold was interesting. I've never seen anything like it. Your holiday decorations are AWESOME!! I especially love the ceramic trees that look like old-fashioned peppermint candy 🍬! I'm gonna be on the hunt for those. 😊🎄⛄️🎄
Happy New Year, Laci. I love your home and your video was great.
I always made cookies like this with my grandma for Christmas. Thank you for sharing!!
Yay! Hi, Lacy! Cookies!!!! I hope you've had a wonderful holiday season!! 😄
I like your kitchen cabinets! Just curious, what do you keep in the little cupboard just above the microwave? I think I’d keep bread in there! Did you ever try cutting your cookies with a piece of dental floss? Wrap it around the dough, cross the ends then pull the ends away from each other. Nice sharp cut!
Love your apron, I have one of my mom’s that she wore on Christmas Day. Now I do the same. It has reindeer on it.
Thank you! Ah how fun!
Never have seen Cookie spelled that way? (as it is on the box)
Thank you for all your efforts when demonstrating a vintage gadget! We vintage neighbors enjoy it. I really liked the “new” pink salt and pepper shakers on your stove!! And…your Christmas decorations are lovely!!!
Instead of using a knife use plain dental floss to cut
Hope the cookies were good! Your decorations are so lovely! I always loved vintage style :)
your outfit is gorgeous
Thanks so much!
Hi Laci, Happy Holidays! Would’ve loved to have some of your cookie num-nums, bet they tasted delicious! What did your family do for Christmas? Did they like their presents? What are your goals for the new year? Hope you had a very merry mid-mod Christmas and best of luck in 2022!
Hi! Thanks so much! We had a good Christmas. Spent time with family and then I had to work a bit. I haven’t set any goals for 2022 yet, but I’m sure I will.
The super thin ones remind me of Moravian sugar cookies. I wonder if some of the main ingredients have actually changed a little since the recipe was formulated? Love the video!
I think the cookie press is better. Didn't you use that last year?
Yep I did!
Merry Happy, Laci. I just wanted to chime in and tell you that your newest fan may also be your oldest fan. My LITERALLY vintage Mom, who just turned 93 in November, absolutely loves you, your kitties and your videos. She also asked me to ask you what make your hand mixer is (the one seen in the Tomato Soup Cake vid). And she says if you ever have any questions about some vintage eras from a personal perspective, she would be happy to try and tackle them. Me too, though I’m only a relatively young idiot of 63. 😊
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Your decorations are beautiful. I love all the trees.
OMG! I love your house all decorated for Christmas makes me feel like I am back in my old home as a child, thank you!!
Merry Christmas Laci. The roller cookie I thought was great saving time in roiling and cutting dough. Love your Christmas decorations so warm and cosy. Marie
I make several of my cookie doughs into rolls, refrigerate and slice to bake. They are not “refrigerators cookie specific” recipes. I form the dough into a log on a piece of wax paper and foil under the wax paper and wrap it up. Works wonderfully. Just slice and bake. It’s basically like the cookie slice and bake cookies you find in the grocery store in refrigerator section. ( chocolate chip, peanut butter and sugar). Really enjoyed this. I always love your cooking videos!! Merry Christmas 🎄
Oh, I bought that book immediately on Amazon! They're all used but I bought one in "very good" condition!
Oh Laci your aluminum 🎄 tree... Shades of early 60's, mom and I had exact same tree!!! Yeesh!!! Hated it!! When I had to put it away I would purposely smash the pom poms... I was 12😁loved your decorating, all those ceramic trees! Hope you got good prices, they are pricey now. The cookie press?! Eh! Love your sunbeam mixer, beats the other, ha! Happy New Year 🎉✌️
Great video. Oh my goodness, I have the same washer/dryer salt and pepper shakers except in white! They were my Grandmothers and I inherited them when she passed away 23 years ago.
Cool!
Hey, that looks cool; I like the measurement markers for cutting! I made my first (successful) sugar cookies and gingerbread houses this year✨🎉 I never really practiced because I didn't want to have too much for myself (since I wanted to practice but not give failures as gifts). Same for bread & all kinds of baking. It's nice to have people who eat my food now so I can experiment! I hope you have a marvelous new year🥰💗🐈🐱
Happy New Year 2022.Each of your videos are a piece of quietness and an incredible view backward and it seems kitchen was a scientific lab. in the fifties...The blue lagon color suits you very much!
I want a cookie or cookie dough now since watching this video
Yayyy I was hoping you would upload soon! Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Ahh yay! Thanks so much! You too!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas! The cookies looks great and the decorations are festive as always!! I'm actually baking cookies with some family today, so perfect timing with watching this video.
Your channel is such a happy place for me ❤
Merry Christmas happy housewife. ❤❤
Happy Holidays Laci! I you hope have a wonderful New Year! 🎄🎅❄🤶
I love your videos. They cheer me up everytime.
Merry merry Christmas Laci!! You are so awesome!!
Happy almost New Years too!!
Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for sharing all of your wonderful videos. They’re always enjoyable. Your Christmas decorations are beautiful. Wishing you a very Happy New Year and abundant blessings in 2022. 😘
My eyes bugged out of my head when you said 8-10 min at 400’. Lol. What? I enjoyed the video. Glad you did get some good edible cookies in the end.
Happy Holiday’s 🙋♀️ Love your outfit -😻
Thanks so much!
Freeze the dough. Not hard, just harder than refrigerator cold. Say half hour in the freezer
Merry Christmas 🎄and Happy 2022 🎉 Thank you for sharing the vintage cookie mold gadget and how it worked 🥰
Fun! Love your salt and pepper shakers!
Happy new year laci. I love your show. God bless you always. I love your multi-colored bubble lights. Where did you get them?
Great Video, thanks for sharing.🤣❤️🎄
Your home looks very festive. I have the exact match to your couch. It’s a pink side chair in perfect condition from 1950s. It’s amazing.
Try warming your knife blade by soaking in a tall glass of very hot water and then dry off before using
Oh my goodness laci!!! Thanks to you I have thrifted some AMAZING mcm items! I literally found a spritz press from the 50’s and was dying to try it!!!! Reminded me of u!!! Wish there were pics on RUclips!!! It would be SO fun to share our treasures w one another 💕🥰 it is called the WEAR-EVER! I even thrifted some Pyrex too!!!! 💕💕💕
please make a video of your wonderful vintage Christmas decorations !!! Ciao from Turin, Italy!!!
Happy Holidays Laci watching from southwestern Ontario, 🇨🇦.
Wow! That sunbeam mixer works better than my "high quality" hand mixer. And omg, your 50s home looks so cute and comfortable, and im loving your beautiful haircut!
I absolutely love your kitchen. I'm a Baby Boomer. Born in 1956. How wonderful to see someone like you that has a true love for my Era. The Gadgets. Furniture. Clothing. You were truly a treasure to find while I was browsing You Tube.
i do not remember my mom, aunties, or teachers having your nail polish design in the 60 s?? they used the pure red nail polish. Love your video and your home did bring back wonderful old memories!! OMG same Christmas tree and decorations!! PERFECT!! Blessed new year to you!!
I’m pretty sure you can blame that first batch on Marie Callender’s? 😉 I enjoyed the music and video of your Christmas decorations so much!! Loved it!!
Most definitely lol. Glad you enjoyed! They are very cozy and even better in person 😊
I'm surprised they wanted you to cut the slices so thin, which doesn't make sense. You can just roll the dough into a log shape, and wrap in plastic wrap or parchment paper, no gadgets needed. Not all gadgets work for sure :) tfs Happy New Year ! 🥰🌵🌞❄☃💗✝
Happy New Year Laci! Love your decorations. Still on the lookout for a ceramic tree. While I was looking at the thrift store I found a Santa candle shade by Mackie Newton dated 1951 in great condition. I love a great vintage find. I also put out my vintage pixies. I adopt every one I come across. Beat Elf on a Shelf.
I recognize those kind of little problems 😅 But there’s nothing wrong with a thicker cookie! 😋 Love 💕 your vintage decorations.
So fun to watch your cooking videos Laci and thanks so much for the tour of all your Christmas decorations!! So beautiful!!🎄🎅🎄
Hello Miss Lacey Faye my name is Eddie I was just wondering about your husband why don't he do videos working on his car or does he have a man cave for back in the fifties as well I like that genre myself I have a 1966 Pontiac GTO that I'm trying to restore like to see some videos that he does have a blessed and safe day God bless you and your family hope you all had a greatful Thanksgiving and a wonderful Christmas Eddie
Can anyone recommend an online site that sells new Vintage Christmas tablecloths or old ones minus the stains or holes in them? I'm looking for a 1940s - current day vintage look, preferably cotton. Thank you!
Love your baking gadget videos
I’m so glad! Thank you!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor your welcome I’m a Huge vintage gadget fan I have two sunbeam mixer’s Same model as yours One has mixers on it and one has the meat grinder attached to it with The Utensil to push the meat down through the grinder And the sausage bowl
Didn't know about the house tour until after I made my first comment. Thanks for showing us your decorations. My Grandma & Grandpa used to have an aluminum Christmas Tree w/the color wheel & spotlight. When I spent nights over at their house at Christmas time, Grandma let me sleep on the couch & kept the tree lit as a special treat. Thanks for igniting that memory for me.
My Mom used to wrap the cookie dough in wax paper & then put it into an empty wax paper box & then chill overnight in the frig. Happy New Year to you (& your cats).
The cookies still looked good, not bad. Your decorations are Awesome Laci. The house looked great very warm & made me feel at peace. I was expecting Fido to come out with an Eggnog for you but I guess you already chained him up to the tree for the night.
I'm sure you've heard this a million times but you look like Jennie Garth from 90210!
I love your show, I don’t dress vintage, but everything else I just love. I have a question for you what brand of lipstick do you but and what color is that beautiful red. I would like to find some of that
Love your silver tree, reminds me of my child hood, my brother still has our silver tree and the light and everything still works. Thank you for the memories. Hope you had a great Christmas.
Laci, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! 🎊 🎉🎉🎉
Cool its from Minnesota! Hardly anything i know comes from here.
Thanks for showing the gadget. It's interesting. I feel like wax paper might do about the same but gosh that mold probably keeps the cookies in a better rounded shape. I love those peppermint Christmas trees.
Great video! Happy holidays. We had a beautiful, fun happy Christmas and we hope you did too!
I've never seen a mold like that either. I think refrigerated cookie dough first came available around 1957. I love your outfit and reindeer pin. Beautiful decorations - I remember the color wheels for the trees from my childhood.
that is fascinating u recall that year. I'm curious to look through my vintage cookbooks to see when the first refrigerator cookie receipe is indicated. thanks.
@@findmeinnature I was born in the late 50's and remember my mother buying some.
OMG your pink S&P shakers on stove are soooo cute! Looks like the old washer my mom had back in the 60s
Hi Laci, is your shirt vintage or reproduction? It's adorable and the color is gorgeous!!
Love the blue on you!! You are so beautiful
I had to pause this video just to go on fb Marketplace and buy a vintage sunbeam mixer 😝 Love it!
I remember my Mom had one of those, complete with the box! We never used it, but I wish I had it now.
It wouldn't surprise me if the dough was intended to be cut with one of them plastic handle things that you usually cut potatoes with instead of a knife maybe(?)
I see you are in Cedar City, Utah. My wife and I have wanted to retire to the southwest and so wondered if you could tell us if your town is safe and reasonably affordable. Thanks Laci.
Maybe you should have tried slicing the cookies the way some people slice cake with unflavored dental floss
I've heard the secret to crisp and chewy cookies is freezing the dough. I wonder if that would make a difference?
I am curious what kind of refrigerator and stove you have. Where can they be purchased?
Merry Christmas
Great video they are always great to watch, Happy New Year & God Bless you Xxo!!
Beautiful decorations. Takes me back to my childhood
Could only imagine how old you are to have a vintage style home that I almost never see that often other than seeing it in a movie, video or a picture which is quite interesting for those who don't know much about that time period before more advanced things came into the world nowadays. I have to say it's pretty cool to see vintage things being used that not many people have seen or know about.
Great video. Thanks for sharing all yourbtreasures? Loved the tree, we had one, the same as yours. Like and liked the table with all the lighted trees.
Your mixer is the same exact one my mom had. I have made so many goodies with that
You can roll your dough into a lot form, without the gadget, and wrap it in plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator.
I ❤️ur decorations…hope you enjoyed your Christmas 🎄
If the cookies tend to be snappy, why not add some ginger and spices - a real fast gingersnap!
The shortening should be substituted with butter. Most likely the dough would stay together. Thank you!
I love the way you did the Snowy fabric for the ceramic trees. Did you cut it that way or buy it?
Where did you get the pink starburst clock?? 😱
Can we do a backyard tiki thing this summer? Im asking now so time to prepare
