When I bought my vintage mobile home last year, I was going through the cabinets. The home came with a juice o matic. I love it. However yes if you want a full glass of oj, you need several oranges. It makes me think of the I Love Lucy shows where she serves these itty bitty orange juice in small small glasses at breakfast. Now we know why. Lol I also have my juicer that goes on my sunbeam mixer, which I love too. If I am just making something small I use juice o matic. If I need lots of juice, I use sunbeam.

Do you wear vintage workout clothes? Did women in 1957 even have workout clothes? Hmmm. I just want to point out about the size of the fruits! I do believe that, maybe not 100% but to a vast extent, there are a lot of sort of “Franklin-fruits” out there now! Those grapefruit were gigantic. And that orange really was quite large too! I think that through the 50’s and into the 60’a at least, the fruits would have been smaller… I’d like to say I remember even in the late 80’s and early 90’s when I was a young girl still, I don’t remember fruit being as big as it is now a lot of the time! So it might have been perfect for the fruit of the time that probably wasn’t as big as it is now… just a thought! 😅

I was so lucky that I found the sleek 1950s chrome version (sleek like a 50"s car) which is a little heavier duty so I seem to need to push less. The top tips back when opened so you can use bigger fruits-- I was even able to do grapefruits. It keeps seeds out of the juice which empties into a fitted cup with a spout. You can just rinse it to clean. Since I have hand and wrist injuries I use mine all the time. If you can find one, grab it!

When my friend’s mom passed away I got her juice o mat. It’s this exact model and lives proudly on my counter. It’s gets a workout from my lemon and lime trees.

If you use the handheld juicer, you can get more juice (but it is a little harder) if you put the lemon or lime upside down so that when you squeeze it, it turns inside out. You get a lot more juice from it. Someone showed me that trick. I love the juice-o-mat! Very cool!

So fun when I see a new video posted by our sweet Laci Fay! Just a little trick, if you roll the fruit around on the counter pushing down with your palm, it helps free the juice.

I have a modern citrus juicer that is kinda like yours I have the Frieling citrus juicer and I wouldn't trade it for the world . Juicers like yours and mine maybe much more expensive then your handheld juicer but the fact the juicers like yours and mine can squeeze out all the juice with little effort makes it worth it.

I love your dress. Green is my favorite color, and that style with the button front and the pockets and the full skirt! So wonderful!

I use a recipe for a carrot and raisin salad recipe that calls for lemon, lime and orange juice (instead of mayo). This kind of gadget would come in super handy for that. Your gadget reviews are always so good.

I’m loving your videos! Very fun. I found you from a video interviewing you. I’m glad you don’t force your lifestyle on your son.

Pro tip: Before you slice your citrus, roll the citrus with some firm pressure before you slice THEN put it in your Juice O-Mat. It will not take hardly any pressure at all to juice.

The bourbon squash looked better than the Plantation also. Plus when you added the half orange to the glass sideways, it ended up looking like an art deco drink! LOL

I bought a juice o matic and it works great ! I think they are great. Love your videos. I did notice that it looked like you didn’t quite get the piece that you put the half of orange on in quite the right place. The back of that piece clicks into a spot on the juicer. Great videos !

I have a red juice-o-mat and a red can-o-mat. My juicer is a little different then yours and it has a built in cup to catch the juice. I have never used it. The can-o-mat is the best can opener. Much better then the garbage they make today. You just need to keep it clean.

Looks good, just what you need to cool down in this hideous heatwave we are having across the pond. Regards, Bond.
