The reason why Lobo looks like that is actually because of the influence of the Headless Horseman, turning Lobo in to a type of Phantasmal Beast and essential upgrading Lobo in power.
yes originaly lobo wasnt strong enough to be much of a servant at all which was a big theme in shinjuku. thats why he was fused with the headless horseman turning him into a compound servant sharing multiple spirit origins and cores to strengthen his manifestation.
Lobo also has a rather touching valentines scene, the player at first offers meat but Lobo instead shows interest in the chocolate the player happened to be carrying. The player is obviously concerned since canines shouldn't eat chocolate but was reassured that Lobo didn't want to eat it but instead have it to smell because it's a new experience for him. Lobo rewards the player by letting them ride on his back through some plains, later it's kind of implied that Lobo was touched being given the new smell of chocolate cause it was something that didn't remind him of his old life. (note I'm going off memory so I might be wrong on some details)
Hessian Lobo does have a roll in Anastasia's interlude. He joins us in trying to free Anastasia from a self destructive dream she trapped herself in due to remembering what she did when summoned by Kadoc. In the dream the Hessian rider was actually able to speak and we actually got a look I to his personality
The translation that i understood for the np was "beheading from afar", which fits more to me for headless, with the spikes being headless invoking his status as a death bringer to nullify chances of escape, so lobo can decap them
3:40 Y’know what makes this funnier when we get to Anastasia’s interlude Hessian is absolute ballistic about not having a head borderline to a point bludd just can’t stop yapping that he’s got no head
In reguards to hessian yes he has more of a coming out as a character starting from the anastasia interlude, from there we manage to form a link with him mentally so we can speak with him and they have used that a lot after that interlude
A skill Lobo has that's not used in game is "Animal Communication A", Which is described as "Because the Wolf King Lobo is an animal, it is possible for him to command life forms of lower rank than him, excluding humans" This is the sublimation of being the Alpha IMO the spikes are like the traps the wolf overcame in the original story
Wohoo, here during what's pretty much the dog apprectiation event in FGO NA. One thing to point out, tho, is that the summonable Hessian Lobo is only a mix of the Hessian and Lobo, the Invisible Man part that was addedd in Shinjuku was pretty much a rushed patchwork job that the big woof asked for to get an edge in power after failing time and again to get the Chaldeans, but wasn't carried over because it just wasn't compatible with them. You can see that in the lack of evasion skills in their set. Oh, and don't worry about the Hessian missing of a pumpkin head to throw, apparently Nursery Rhyme's been trying to fix that every Halloween; in an Anastasia interlude where he gets to talk he's very miffed about it.
@@CrazyYurieyeh hessian is able to speak in dreams cause he only can’t talk cause he is missing a head in the physical world but otherwise he can speak
to be frank, the character is a very cool idea, an amalgam of vengeful spirits finding common cause in their hatred of humanity. I think they could have expanded it even further by adding traits of the Dullahan from Irish folklore, the "og" headless horseman, a harbinger of death and doom would only benefit by bonding with a vengeful wolf servant. Unfortunately all of this is cool, but not very accurate.
I always liked Lobo's design, but I had no idea the lore behind them was that interesting. I skipped most of the story up til the later lostbelts (which was a mistake, but i wanted to speed through it), but im really interested in going back to Shinjuku now.
Shinjuku is a fun time. A bit convoluted, but all the characters are amazing. Personally, all the Pseudo-Singularities get a bad reputation for some reason. Except Agartha. That is just horrible. But the other three are great.
Lobo was called straight up satan or at least a demon once I'm not sure why but alot of avengers have that in common i wish is np was in English cause they are English legends
I know the invisible man being part of the mix is part of why he is an avenger but I have always considered that not as a part of the lobo that we summon to chaldea because it doesn't currently feature in any part of the kit The blade that trap the enemies to me in the third ascension I believe are from lobo but they have now encroached on the Hessian so he is the one trapping them now while lobo beheads when swapping rolls from the prior ascensions where I always assumed lobo frozen enemies in fear with a roar then the Hessian beheaded them Also I do love that the Hessian does have his own personality and will even if he can't verbally communicate and even without it you can feel the camaraderie he feels with Lobo
And yet he still has the skill in his profile, he just doesn't use it. It's really infuriating because they barely explore anything besides Lobo himself at all.
One step closer to the story writers servants. Anyway itt was really cool to learn more about the wolf i didn't know much about him before meeting him in the story
Just stumbled upon your videos and they're really good! Can i ask will Douman will ever going to get a video too :0? He's my fav and i would like to see how accurate he is, tho there's problem of his irl/historic ver having not that much info comparing to Seimei(also really want servant Seimei) P.S. i would also wanted that you would highlight living Douman that appears a bit in Heian-Kyo(the one who makes sad expression), cuz he's kinda overlooked
Alas, as shown at the end of the video, Okita Souji is next. I'm actually in the middle of editing it right now. I do want to get to Gilgamesh in the future though! :D
@@CrazyYurie yes! I find expression sheets but I do not know how to properly edit the expressions on the body Is it a specific software or is there a source somewhere?

Ok like a lot of the valentines scenes get me to tear up but this one actually got some tears from me when I saw it the first time
This one and summer Musashi's are the times I cried in Fgo the most

4:37 Lobo's 2nd skill did get a buff and got renamed to "white wolf of nostalgia" with an EX rank
That hasn't come on NA yet, sadly. :(
3:40 Y’know what makes this funnier when we get to Anastasia’s interlude Hessian is absolute ballistic about not having a head borderline to a point bludd just can’t stop yapping that he’s got no head
Hessian lobo’s np seems to more of a reference to the part of cutting people’s head off from sleepy hollow, however more in the cinematic adaptations
Thanks to my first exposure to Sleepy Hollow being the Tim Burton movie, even in FGO my mental image of the Hessian is as Christopher Walken

I personally enjoy Hessian's portrayal in Anastasia's interlude, I don't blame you for not covering it though.
Ack... I didn't know about that. I don't have Anastasia. x_x

I took the "spiky things" to be manifestations of the Grim Reaper's Scythe, as the headless Hessian can be seen as a type for the Grim Reaper.
Fgo give us more animal servants my good boy Lobo needs more friends
Even if he’s not like the original I love lobo all the same
