Joe Cole gets revenge on Roy Keane

- I love when small stories develop within a game. I'm not sure why, but Keane decides to argue with Joe Cole, who in turn gets the better of Keane in a duel later on in the game.
Given the freedom and the chance to be a protagonist, Joe Cole at West Ham was a joy to watch!
Manchester United vs West Ham 2001/2002. - Спорт
Joe Cole before be went Chelsea. Free to roam. Was something else. Won the trophies at Chelsea but mourihno put him in structure so couldn't tear it up as he did at West ham. Top player
cole's two best season league were under mourinho
yeah, proper star boy
Agree. Similar situation with Duff.
Was just gutted Liverpool got the injury prone version. Was a real shame
Mourinho taught Joe Cole to be a winner.
Maybe if he took your advice he would have played under a manager like Frank De Boer instead and spend his career mid table Or fighting relegation
Joe before he was taught to play like an Englishman
By a Portuguese
When he had the capability of rolls royce engine
But he got provided with a bus

Lol
Hoof it up there my son
Joe Cole was so much fun to watch.
Pele once said that the only player in that ‘Golden Generation’ England squad that would fit in to the Brazil squad at that time was Joe Cole. High praise from one of the GOATs 🐐
Shows what Pele knew ..
Did he say that ?
Unfortunately Pele does also seem to spout a load of shite to whoever he’s talking to.
Ah the same Pele who said an African nation would win the World Cup by 2000
‘I am pele….here is scored 2000 goals against my niece of three’.
Joe was the only English player who didn't play like an English player back then
Times were different, it was always colder and the grass was often wet in England before perfect manicured stadiums or turf grass. Good one two passes, hard tackles, and long ball passes in the air favored the climate and conditions.
@@robertburch3813no it was crap coachingl. The climate in Holland is just as bad if not worse but they always produced great technical players. England during the 80s and early 90s had great technical players like Hoddle, Waddle, Beardsley, Barnes and Gascoigne. The mid 90s onwards were a dark time for technical English players.
@@ronniep9272 the 90’s is when I played in college and semi pro. The game got more athletic, faster, and physical. The English seemed to embrace this before other countries so technical abilities may have suffered.
@@robertburch3813 the English team have always played fast physical football. It worked when playing against similar teams but not against technical teams that would not give away the ball cheaply English teams struggled in the Champions League until 2005 and the English national team still does against the likes of Brazil and Portugal.

@@patrykz5630 Do you remember David Beckham?
@@brianlawson4368 society haven't changed much
@@brianlawson4368Yes, he started all this 😉I was thinking about him when I was posting. But Becks was one and only 🙂 remember what he did for 3 Lions vs. Grecce? BTW I am MUFC fan ❤️ and now compare him and for example Neymar or Mbappe
@@patrykz5630 Neymar and Mbappe are way better than Beckham. Beckham was a very good player but he was overhyped by the English media and very talked because of his good look.
Actually saw this old game recently. West Ham's intensity was great early on but Keane just absolutely dominated the match afterwards with his passing and had Cole and Carrick in his pocket with a superb performance. United won 5-3. Keane and Vieira were in a league of their own in this period.
That's very harsh on lampard, Dennis wise, Paul ince and players like that.
@@RaseYourProbs no it's not. None of those were close to Keane and Viera in 2002. Scholes was at a similar level at that stage but was almost playing up front for united. No one else could touch Keane and Viera at the time.
@@RaseYourProbs dennis wise lol
@@RaseYourProbs he rates lamps! Oh you kids are so utterly devoid of perspective and I love it
@@victorkreig6089 you don't rate lamps? Thinking about it, perhaps not during this period, but after his move to Chelsea, he has a phenomenal goal scoring rate for a CM. Still Chelsea top scorer I think. Anyone who doesn't rate lamps during his Chelsea period would be really bias in my opinion.
The real Joe Cole. What a player! Then he became a modern day footballer, a right footed Attacking midfielder converted to left winger by Jose to accomodate him because Lampard played in his position.
He did win lots of trophies and even had a long international career with England. Still showed the flair at times but if he had played in his natural position, would have surely been a once in a generation talent for England!
Joe Cole wasn’t a footballer, he was an artist.
He was actually a footballer
@@robertward9852 No, an artist. He drew pictures on the pitch.

I'll never forget that goal for England 🏴⚽️ 🔥🪄
One of the most under rated players ever gutted his leg broke as he was just getting started ⚒❤️
how low was his rating?
@@janpierzchala2004you know the ratings, well he was under them. That's how he was under rated.
Yeah I think the term under rated is over rated and over used. It just shows how crap the school and media system is in Britain these days. I've recently seen some TV and movies from the 1950s and the way they could talk is so charming and mesmerising in it's eloquence and creative yet polite use of language.
Such a wonderful way to speak to each other that enhances warmth and reduces division.... Ahhhh. Maybe that's why it's not promoted any more?
Probably after WW3 we will see increased use of politeness again, just like in the 1950s?
@@Google_Does_Evil_Now I find your observations very perceptive and worthy. And the British are always so much at the top of the linguistic game!
@@Google_Does_Evil_Now Seeing again and again "so underrated" or "one of the most underrated" as a no. 1 compliment on ytb is so... Such an awkward poor compliment.
@@Google_Does_Evil_Now Also, underrated as a compliment is sometimes degrading for someone who considers themselves properly rated and a star

Joe Cole was my favourite at chelsea
As an England fan I was so excited about Joe Cole coming through age 16. So much expectation. He did ok but mostly nice flicks and touches. Never set the word alight imo.
There was a spare space left mid but he just did ‘ok’
Any footage of Joe Cole in the West Ham youth, fa cup final i think it was, just before he stepped up to senior squad ?. From memory that was a sight to behold. He was largely compared to Gazza, unbelievable tekkers. Always wished he came to Old Trafford but nothing was displacing Scholes. Anyway Chelsea riches and their exhorbitant spending to build a squad to dominate made his destination clear, also he was a London lad. Preferred him in the centre attacking mid role, as displayed here, but in mourinho defence, he made him incredibly fit and a warrior. Not his fault he had to compete with Duff and Robben for starts. Awesome player.
His goal for England against Sweden, pure class
The fact he was a Chelsea fan growing up made his destination clear more like.
@@ZolaMagic25 Ah, I wasn't aware of that 👍
Always forget about that duffer Damien Duff, who was actually a really underrated player.
It was so much more entertaining when Robben and Cole started…Duff was a workhorse which is what Mourinho loved

Awesome, Zidanesque if I may say so, dribble!

Joe Cole was some player
Remember Joe Cole being shrugged off the ball like he wasnt there by JayJay Okocha at Reebok back in 2003, on route to Okocha bagging the winner that day.
Cant help but think that Joe Cole never quite hit the heights he was expected to, i know he played for trophy winning clubs etc, but never quite shone as brightly as some of his contemperaries
Slickness
Joe Cole was incredible for about 7 years then drifted away. Should of been England's Zidane.
7 years is pretty decent for a career in the recent past - we get fooled by CR7 and Messi's longevity, and how athletes look after themselves into their 30s. He had a good career.
zidane was his hero.

Keane, overrated pos
Same happened to Jay Jay Okocha. Both amazing when allowed to play with freedom and do as they pleased but both were made to play sensible and be more responsible and they both lost their magic.
Keane viera scholes would be amazing trio midfield
Keano making "Cole Slaw" of him. Never the same afterwards was J.
Noice. Pity we didn't have Joe Cole from the start LFC.
It's madness. We don't seem to appreciate flair in this country unless it costs millions from abroad . We have a history of flair players played in the wrong position or totally ignored on an international level.
Half of it is self-inflicted with players joining setups for financial reasons (and some for trophies) at the expense of their own growth and careers.
