The fact Shaun Wright-Phillips isnt actually blood-related to Ian Wright, and still became a professional footballer, is an incredible testament to how Ian raised him. When we see sons of famous footballers get to a high level themselves, we tend to presume it's largely down to genetics. Just goes to show that with the right coaching and nurturing anything is possible for young kids

Worked with Ian in Manchester years and years ago and his sons came to the studios where their dad was working. What a bunch of brilliant people, Ian is EXACTLY like you see him on screen and his boys were lovely. ‘Good lads’ 😂

Best thing I have watched in along time. I found quite emotional. Wrighty what a legend adopting Shaun at 19 years of age proper man.
You can see how proud Peter Schmeichel is of Kasper. And its very rare that both father and son have had decorated careers.
That’s powerful stuff Jamie talking about his own son’s injury experiences, fair play to him for being honest about it.
Every parent should watch or listen to this. Had me tearing up doing the grass as my 2 year old was waving at me through the window😂

Such a healthy conversation. Top blokes expressing important shades of vulnerability, showing the beauty and scariness of fatherhood and growing into a man. Loved everything about this episode
Leicester winning the league is still one of the most surreal fairytales in football. If helped that Leicester found two ridiculously good generational talents at the same time in Mahrez & Kante & it came together with Vardy falling into the best scoring form of his career. The stars aligned amazingly for them to make it possible but that's not to take anything away from them, most of that squad were cast-offs & they all played their part. It's one of those seasons that still deserves talking about & having documentaries done about it even decades from now.
Crazy id say its on a par with Wimbledon winning the FA Cup ,its the fact they just fell away so fast with Leicester that didnt help
@@mcfcguvnors they won an fa cup also after the prem . More successful than arsenal for the last 20 years . But yeah the owner died and they fell away but they will be back

As a dad it’s so difficult to do or say the right thing, these lads show what we are all going through, we just need to be there for our kids, help them when they are down, support them when they are doing well, the only thing our kids want is for us to be there.
This was an amazing watch and really great to see these legends so human and real, they all seem like amazing dads and so supportive it’s made me respect them 1 million times more. Jamie’s story about his son had me tearing up. Love the vid❤
This was one of my favourite episodes. I’ve always thought watching your son achieving at the top level would outweigh the high of doing it yourself.

Wonderful, wholesome episode. Football is a reminder of just normal working class families doing their best, getting the chance to chase their dreams.
Everyone praises how youthful Ian Wright looks and rightfully so but consider Peter Schmeichel Is only 15 days younger than him. They both look amazing for 60 years old.
Love the show and this is a fantastic addition. Very wholesome. Jamie C's stuff with his son was heart wrenching.
Honestly up there with one of the best overlap shows ive seen!! The importance of showing how paents should act with your kids not just in general but at academies or playing in a team, just let them have fun. And the stories were unreal, Carra's just hit me with what he went through with his lad but all 3 guests amazing putting parents on the map and good and bad aspect of ppl with there kids! Bravo overlap 👏 i love these shows! I look forward every week to escape with the lads. Thank you
