Thanks for the comments on this video, everyone! For those asking about Mr. Pigden, as revealed in the real-life ITV4 documentary, he didn’t know Mr. Pigden was still alive at the time. Keep in mind, this documentary was made in 2000-technology and social media weren’t as prevalent back then, so it’s understandable that he wouldn’t have known. Just wanted to clear that up. Thanks again, everyone!
Hi, I don't think this was recorded at BBC Television Centre. Ian's talk show was produced both at Teddington Studios and The London Studios, so since This Is Your Life was always based at Teddington, I think this was done at Teddington Studios and not BBC Television Centre.
This popped up randomly as a suggestion on RUclips - as a United fan, I used to hate Ian growing up with Arsenal as bitter rivals, it was really due to fear of what he might do on the pitch. Now, as am adult, recently hearing his story about how he really did not have any parental love and guidance growing up and being someone who experienced that also, I have sympathy, understanding and love for the man.
Was superb to see Arsene, Seaman, David Dein and co there to support Ian. Wenger saved his Arsenal career after Rioch nearly destroyed it. That PL title medal he finally won with us was well deserved and was the final medal he was desperate to win with us.
I’ve always said the club should put one up of him. It’s easy to forget the impact he had on Arsenal. That’s simply unfortunate and due to the unmatched legendary status of Thierry Henry who broke his goal scoring record.
Wrighty looks like he's remembering far harsher times when his mum is trying to make out some lovable family tale....knowing what we now know I doubt if he was delighted his absentee father was there at all. Shows how fake TIYL is. Wrighty's true story of his life is as awful as it is inspiring. His life experience and Mr Pigden's influence are behind all the good works he's got involved in. He wants to make a difference like his teacher made to him.
TIYL were unlikely to have been privy to the story of abuse. It's only when ian wright divulged it a few years later that it all became known. But harsh to criticise the television show. Mind you, it's a shame Mr pigden didn't feature in this episode.
Ian may not be happy with this as he is not with his wife Debbie now. Good to see this old show though, and shame he hasn't discovered Mr Pigden is still alive at the time.

the show was finished at this stage ...-definitely undeserved......
That’s a bit harsh, he was just as deserving as any soap star
