In this video I am sharing a beautiful & colourful Dot Mandala painting on a coaster set. For making my Dot mandala I have used tools like paint brush, pencil, crayons etc... which is available with everyone at their home. In the end I am also sharing how to make these coasters waterproof.
The mandala designs I have shared in this video are very easy to make & you will feel very relaxed while doing it.
I hope you will give this DIY a try. It can be a beautiful gift for a housewarming party or for any Tea or Coffee lover or for any Art lover as well :)

@@AnkiNishCreations4u ...I don't get mod podge which you have used for water resistant...also do you paint on the backside of the coaster too
You can get it on Amazon!! I have not painted the back but I will recommend to paint on sides or at least apply sealer on the sides!! Hope this helps 😊

Hello mam can we use chem wood polish (polish polymer wood finish) to seal acrylic painted dot mandalas?.. and how much time it required to get waterproof?...in how many hours i wash it? Plz give reply

Lovely work dear.. I made dot painted coasters using acrylic paint and varnish it later.. but its sticking to one another or if I place any thing over it. Please Let me know what should I do to make it non sticky. Thanks in advance
Thank you so much 😊 I use Dishwasher safe mod podge to seal my coasters & I let them cure for 28 days laying them flat in a dust free area!! After that It does not feel sticky!! I hope this helps

But you can use any other acrylic paints available near your place. A good option is fevicryl acrylic paints!! Hope this helps :)

Varnish, modge podge or resin? What would you recommend for coasters and keychains?
I have used Varnish & Mod-podge. I would recommend Mod-podge out of two. Have never used Resin, so not sure about that

Hey!! I have used Dishwasher safe mod-podge to make it waterproof!! If the varnish you want to use gives a waterproof seal to the paint then you can definitely use that but I am not sure about fevicol!! I hope this helps🙂

Yes definitely you can apply it on mugs & cups on the outer surface... Do not apply on the area which comes in contact to the mouth while drinking!!

How to seal the back and sides of the raw mdf used to make coasters?
By applying the same Dishwasher safe modpodge
What about back side. We have to paint black or apply only moth poch on back side also
It's upto you, you can paint on back side as well & if you paint then do apply mod podge to seal it :) but do paint & seal the sides for sure

Haan bilkul aap coffee mug pe bhi Dishwasher safe modpodge se seal Kar sakte ho... Just take care to only paint & seal that area which does not come in contact with mouth while drinking 😊

You can cure a dotted piece in the oven or microwave, if the painting is on ceramic. You dont have to wait 28 days to cure a piece. Some bottled paints will tell you about curing in the oven.
Can we use water colour?
Water colour would be too thin in consistency to make dots + it won't be durable as well

I got it when I was in USA.. you can easily get it online 🙂
Until 28 days how did you store them in paper rap or plastic rap
I just put them in a big basket or box so that they don’t touch each other & also they stay protected from dust
Can we use this to seal the art on glass, plastic and other surfaces??
As per the instructions on the bottle, it can be used on any surface but with my experience I would say.. it does not seal perfectly on plastic... Coz on plastic the paint can also peel away... But if you apply gesso first on plastic & then paint & then this sealer... It will work good!! I hope this helps🙂

I made a coaster using fevicryl acrylic colour and applied varnish on top but the coasters are sticky even after 2 months

I don't think that Fevicol would be a good idea!! You can try & find other waterproof sealant if you're not able to find Dishwasher safe mod-podge!!

Hi tried varnish to make my acrylic coaster waterproof but when I keep a hot mug on it it sticks. Does Your mug sticks to the coaster . Is mod podge is waterproof and heat proof?
Hi Megha... I have used Dishwasher safe mod-podge... Hence it is waterproof!! Heatproof?? - If you're asking that if it can hold the hot cup with hot drinks then I think Yes it is heat proof like that!! I hope this helps🙂

Hey, Sorry for the late reply!! Yes It is not sticky, Just make sure to give the recommended curing time for the Mod-podge.
Isit heat resistant?
It can bear the heat of a hot cup of tea or coffee when kept on it
Can I do this on table cloth? Can I use mode spodge on cloth
Yes.. you can do this on cloth for sure!! But using mod lodge on cloth may make it pretty stiff!! On cloth you can directly use fabric paints & that should be ok as it is, no need to apply mod podge!! I hope this helps🙂

Where did you get the materials
I got the coasters from a local store here in Dublin!! Other supplies paint & modpodge, you can get them in any good Art & Craft store in your area!!

Hi.. what medium you have used to paint mandala.. if you have used any kind of markers then markers might be the reason of smudging as most of the varnishes smudge the markers ink
I have used artline pens which are used for mandala art. The varnish used was the spray kind .
Can say it with 100% guarantee but as per my experience... I am pretty sure that spray varnish in most cases smudges anything done with markers or pens

I applied it on the design & on the four sides but not on back side
really it will take 28 days to dry ?& if we need to sell out this coasters on urgent basis then what to do ? how we tell customer to wait for 28 days for use.
It says so in the instructions!! May be you can out some spray sealer which is waterproof

May be you can try epoxy resin to seat it or any other spray sealer which is waterproof 🙂 I haven't try any other method so cannot say it with guarantee 🙂
Please tell me the shades of all the colours you have used
I have used Bright yellow, apricot, harvest orange, bright red, lime tree, ocean breeze, turquoise, bright blue & black. But you can go on with whatever shades you have 😊

Love this. Is anyone here able to shed light though on why some coasters I bought online of teddy bears with love hearts have all arrived and with the coasters covered in a white material on both sides. I have contacted the seller who appears not to know what I am talking about despite providing a clear description of the issue and showing a photograph. Because of their attitude I now have taken up the issue with the website the coasters were advertised on.

No, cork is not wood.. but it is widely used for coasters, hot mats etc... Fo use as a coaster, I don't think foam sheet will work
