    On our third visit to the "Most Magical of All Mexico's Pueblo Magicos", we decided to skip our return flight back to the USA and live & work in this extraordinary town.
    San Cristóbal de las Casas is beloved by all who set eyes upon it -- the warm and welcoming community. colorful street murals, diverse and savory gastronomy, and nearby excursions to jungle waterfalls and Tzotzil indigenous villages are just a few of the reasons why this town is so spellbinding.
    Join us for a tour of our apartment and an overview of the neighborhood we live in, which is just three blocks from the historic center.

      Oaxaca is fantastic - In our opinion San Cristobal is the most magical place in Mexico - perhaps in the world. The relaxed atmosphere, mountain climate, indigenous communities, nearby jungles and waterfalls, the international metropolitan quality restaurants - all in a tiny, safe, extremely walkable town. It’s all here.

      Cool! Hit us up when you're here. Everything is open, the mask rule is extremely loosely enforced at best -- we heard a story from a local that when the authorities tried to shut down the indigenous open-air market at the beginning of quarantine, they were chased out with clubs and stones -- the market never closed. • @UntetheredTogether
      @UntetheredTogether  3 года назад

      Hi! We edited the description of the video to include the link. There are many amazing and affordable places in San Cris, and there are a few cowering spaces with excellent internet so don't worry too much about the strength of the connection in the room if you need fast internet for work -- 1st internet is good enough to stream videos and browse the web, but I definitely recommend hitting one of the co-working spaces if you need consistently fast internet.

    • @UntetheredTogether
      @UntetheredTogether  3 года назад +1

      Hi! The best way to find amazing apartments / accommodations in San Cris is definitely word of mouth and showing up in person -- it's a small town and there are lots of locals and expats who are highly sociable so plugging into the yoga groups, rock climbing classes, Viña de Bacco wine bar scene, etc. will provide you with insight that no online search ever will. I recommend booking a place for a week or 2 on Airbnb or a hotel then looking around at 'For Rent' signs in person. We are in a new place that is bigger, better, and cheaper than the one in this video and only found it by walking to the neighborhood and chatting with people in Spanish.

      @UntetheredTogether  3 года назад +1

      I recommend joining 'San Cristobal de las Casas expats' on Facebook if you have one -- there are lots of posts about housing options that are cheaper than Airbnb -- the best part of Airbnb is that you have a little more insurance / stability if you don't have any connections in the area -- if there is an issue with the housing, you have some back up -- I recommend booking a place through Airbnb, many quality and well-located rooms and houses here for 4 people are around $30 a night. Thanks for watching ( :
