I send many greetings to you to your wife I am from Socoltenango Chiapas Mexico I miss my country and my culture and I feel very proud of you that you like the culture of Chiapas. greetings from pennsilvania
Tzotzil, the language you heard is Tzotzil and it is spoken by the neo-Mayan people. They live all over several regions of Chiapas and you will probably meet one special Tzotzil girl (you can call that way those people) who is always selling handcrafted stuff in SanCris Down Town, she is very nice and you will know whom I'm talking about cuz she can sell in at least 5 different languages (spanish, english, french, german, italian...). I'm from Tuxtla but used to spend my teenage weekends in SanCris, there is a lot of very nice people and several things to have a good time.
We were in San Cristóbal de las Casas back in '89. I loved going out for chocolate (pronounced choco latte) at night. Nothing like a warm mug of it during the cool mountain nights.
Vayan a las grutas de san cristobal , grutas arcotete y mamut a unos minutos de san cristobal.. quedense la proxima semana empieza el festival cervantino participaran varios paises 😁
Don't take that beautiful fresh and local produce in Mexico for granted! I recently picked up a bag of oranges in the USA that were produced in South Africa! Does that count as "fresh" fruit? Can you imagine how long that fruit was in transit? Most of our produce comes from Chile or Peru or maybe Mexico or places where the fruit/vegetables must have been picked weeks or maybe even months ago! And we pay a very high price for low quality. So enjoy and recognize what you have there. Also San Cristobal is wonderful!
You guys have to be the official embassadors to the turist department in Mexico, never ever, have I seen somebody to put Mexico so high, out side of Mexico, even with the bad publicity the media give to Mexico, WE really Love you guys, keep that excellent job.
I just chose to buy a house in san cristobal just because of you guy I fell in love with san cristobal through your videos looks perfect weather , trees , vibe so colorfull and lots of richness
We have almost followed you to Guadalajara, Mexico City, Puero Vallarta, and were hot on Chiapas last month. We just signed an incredibly wonderful contract for what to us is a mini-mansion here on the parade route in Jocotepec, with 4 balconies and 3 stories...so will need a sitter for our pets before we can find you and/or other new areas, but we will. We LOVE love love you guys.... Rich y Jenn, Joco
You guys are adding more places to my "must see" list! Heading down to Estado de Mexico in a week for Dia de Muertos celebrations, and its a good thing, because you are provoking the need for my Mexico fix. Happy travels!
2:45 you ask what language you're hearing. The answer is (mostly) Chamul Maya. There are some other languages spoken in that market; Chol, Tzeltal, maybe even a little Tzotzil. But it's Chamul country. :-) Again I must say, I LOVE HOW YOU LOVE MEXICO.
@@selenagomezacapella been there only once but in my experience it is a central meeting place of language groups. I hung out with Chamulas which probably skewed my perception.
Tzotzil, zoque or lacandon between others are the real heart and soul of Chiapas. A great adventure plenty of colors. Thanks by take us with both of you in this fantastic journey ! 😎

I really love how you guys critique new foods. You are willing to try new things and you are honest. And I really really loved how Greg said “...Four, with us...” talking about the three different groups of Mexican/Indian. Love you guys.
Kurogami Productions ...Yes, you Right. “Indians” are from India. But they are not really “indigenous.” I mean, it’s not like they just sprung up like weeds. Perhaps we should say “...the Pre-Columbus Peoples.”? Anyhow ALL Peoples are just families,Tribes, and Clans grown big (with some older than others). And ALL People have migrated from one place or another. Remember, there were ONLY EIGHT PEOPLE on Noah’s Ark. And that Ark landed in the modern country of Turkey.
@@RobertoLopez-nn8ty Yep, they're indigenous because they're originated and always lived in that place, they're the original inhabitants , that's what indigenous mean. Maybe you're confused with "aboriginal" meaning. However, since I'm not a religious person, I just can't take for me all the biblical mythology but I respect your point.
Kurogami Productions .. Like I said, people do not just Spring up like weeds. We ALL came from someplace else. Man has been migrating for thousands of years. All Peoples are just families, tribes, and clans grown big. Some older than others. The term “indigenous” is and oxymoron. Think on on this.
COOL Market, sweets and popcorn, lots of colorful artesanías, lol...Güera: I love meringues, their light and fluffy, just like Greg!" lol, again...XD Did I hear right another language was more widely spoken than Spanish? Ah, must be a Mayan language, that is also AWESOME! :D
