I'm running NYC marathon in the Elite V4. I took them out for a 20 mile long run last week and they were great. I found that they really came alive around mile 10, could feel the bounce and energy return. They are now back in the box resting until Nov. 3rd. I'm still training in my 2nd pair of the Supercomp trainer OG. I bought them in early 2023 and they are still bouncy and they keep the balls of my feet nice and comfy.
this is my first ever marathon and i can tell you one thing, i was definitely not a runner last year. Wouldn't catch me running unless someone is chasing me haha. Anyhow, the shoe you both seemed to be "excited" over was the SC Trainer V3. i have been running 6 miles every other day with heavy, non running type shoes so when you both described the SC Trainer V3, it seemed to me that would be the one for me. Dont know why but it seemed like the shoe i needed. I know absolutely nothing about shoes so i hung on every word you both said in the video. I must have watched the video 5 times to make sure. Thank you for the teaching lesson
I like New Balance, but my big problem is that you never know what you're getting from one year to the next. The SC Elite, Trainer, Pacer and Rebel feel like they start from scratch every year and make a different shoe. Even the 880 and 1080 have changed a lot. I used to wear 880s, then one year they didn't fit anymore. 1080v13 was totally different than the v12 and I liked it, but I'm not sure I'll like the v14 with the extra weight and firmer feel. You can't just find a shoe you like and keep buying it.
Really helpful list. I just started running this year and after trying a few brands, and new balance is the one for me. 1080 v13 was a bit too soft and unstable but the rebel 4 is great. Looking to pick up the SC Trainer now that I can start going a bit longer! And I can confirm living in DC that everyone wears new balances here for lifestyle shoes.
Really enjoyed this, thanks! I don’t have any of the lineup but one I am considering is the Rebel v4, just a great combination of weight and foam and price.
Glad to see the 990 getting love! Im obsessed with mine. Nice supoort but very comfy. Was worried about the fuel cell in it, but the harder foams give it more support.
Based on your previous thoughts on the SC trainer v3. It sounded like you really didn’t like it all that much. What changed your mind? I still find the shoe to be okay after 150 miles.
I was a big fan of the More V4. I owned 2 pairs and ran in them until they had no more life to give. The More V5 has given me the worse toe blisters and hot spots a shoe has ever given me. I have run 30 miles in them and the pain persists. They are also a tad short (length wise), clunky, and the new midsole design no longer compliments my running style. I'm envious of those who are getting along well with this new model.
Just depends on your cushioning preferences. I’d be fine with a half, but would want more underfoot for the marathon. If you are light and efficient it could work.
sc trainer v1, 630 kilometers, my favorite shoe. Now it has little flexibility after every 3 kilometers. Unfortunately, NB has never had a similar successor to v1. I bought neo vista at the end of this month. Maybe I will try more v5 when there is a discount in the future.
I really love you guys. The podcast is awesome. But what’s with the “lifestyle” at the end. This really looks like sponsored material. I’d love it if you made it clear how you are operating. The 1080 short the other day with other run reviewers flashed an NB logo at the end. Please keep it straight up and let us know where you are coming from. No need for lifestyle advice from you guys.
Surprised that sharing our thoughts on lifestyle was upsetting you. Have you thought about why it made you feel uncomfortable? This isn’t a promoted post. We just like shoes and thought we’d share. Glad you like the podcast.
@@Believeintherun this is your reputation. It’s not the lifestyle sharing that’s upsetting. It’s not knowing whether you are sponsored content or not. You may be aware other shoe brands also offer “lifestyle” products. Either you add it in for all and make it a thing. Or you make it look like you have a thing for NB. I only raise because I enjoy your content so much. I just find it harder to distinguish on this channel (when compared to others) about what’s paid for and what isn’t. You published the 1080 short on your site but it included the NB logo at the end. I assume that meant it was paid for. There was no mention of this paid element when you released your review. So tell us. Did NB pay you to release a short? And if they didn’t, why the logo. And if they did, why no disclosure on the review?
@@ndz2913 The NB short was a paid promotion, and has a paid partnership label attached to it. That feels pretty clear. It was a fun piece of content and in no way is a formal review of the shoe. Not a single review of any shoe on the site has been, or ever will be, sponsored content. It’s the first discussion we have with brands when working together. We’re always going to be honest about the shoes. Luckily we can make up our own rules for the channel so we added in a lifestyle shoe because we like it. We talk about lifestyle shoes from other brands all the time too. Thomas even paints them in his spare time (I know, what a nerd). We appreciate your concern for our reputation. Thanks for tuning in so intently.
Thomas is the biggest complainer when it comes to weight. It should be a tertiary comment, not your main sticking point. Dude complains about weight w anything over 220g
Almost everyone that is reviewing shoes will bring up weight, but Thomas takes the cake. I've never understand the whole weight issue for the 90% of us.

I own the 1080 V13, Rebel V4 and Supercomp Trainer V3. The SC V3 is my absolute favorite! It feels fast and confident, worth the money all day long!
The SC trainer is close enough to the SC elite that for most hobbyist it's better to just stay with the trainer.
I absolutely love my Rebel V4s
I wear the 1080v13 for casual and it’s a comfort dream 😊
NB is doing the right moves with the latest upgrades 🔥🔥 Love the Rebel V4 🙌
Until today, the SC Trainer V1 is the most comfortable pair I have ever used!

Its interesting to see how far shoes have come. The lifestyle shoes use to be the daily trainer and long run shoes.
That 993 looks awesome!!
I’ve gone all in for New Balance: Rebel V4, 1080 v13, and SC Elite 4.
It's monday. I prefer the NB fuelcell Rebel v4 or the NB propel v5. Like to Meaghan and Thomas. Have a great day.
Can never go wrong with a Boston shoe company.
I think the Rebel v4 is a great everyday walking around shoe, too.
Great idea with this comprehensive recaps!

We need colors of Fresh Foam X Balos. Why does it only come with one color?

Which ones are made in the states

What’s better Fuel Cell elite v4 or Vaporfly 3????
Vaporfly is lighter, Elite 4 is more stable. So depending on what you need you could go with either. Our team would lean towards Vaporfly 3.
If you had to put together your perfect 2 shoe or 3 shoe lineup from New Balance, what would it be?
Rebel v4, elite v4, More v5
Those 993 are banging!
What is a great jog running shoe

220lbs, looking at a 4:30 marathon, what shoe do you think would be best?
Check out our big dude vids
Can you do a half marathon and marathon in the rebel v4?
Just depends on your cushioning preferences. I’d be fine with a half, but would want more underfoot for the marathon. If you are light and efficient it could work.
Have Rebel v4, like it, though prefer Mach 6 more.
I’m a bit biased, but I think the Rebel V3 looks much nicer than the V4. One to look for on discount.

I miss the og fuelcell rebel v2 v3 rc elite v2 😢
The RC elite V2 was the best looking race shoe until today imo.
Bummed I didn't get one :/
@@okimy3668
not only the look, extremely comfortable for long runs
+1 for the OG RC elite v2. They need to bring back something like that.
hate that 1080v14 weight just went up by whole ounce
Just a correction on the weight of the Balos in a men's size 9.....9.2 ounces is 260 grams, not 303 grams
Whoever designed the Hanzo, with the Ninja on the back, needs to give us a race shoe 👟
Been waiting for this 🔥🔥
Can you do a review for something from 361 degree sports? Either the Flame 3 of the Miro nude?
Check the website.
Is it strange that you are the third running RUclipsrs in the past few days to do a New Balance shoe roundup for 2024? 🤔
Where’s the 860 at!?!?!?
Am I the only one that just sinks into the rebel? I get no response from them. Only put 5 miles on them because I just feel stuck in the mud in them.
What could new balance do to improve the Balos? Also other showtubers say the balos is one of the bounciest shoes on the market, do you guys agree?
Τέλεια, αλά λίγο ακριβά
Still wearing 22-23 NB shoes😂
Pacer dong
cm punk ??
No trail shoes from New Balance in 2024? None at all?

To be fair , 990v6 is a pretty solid shoes. Not recommend for running though 😂

I cant wear new balance even if i wanted to. My dad wears them. Its like soccer moms and mini vans.
Are you still living at home?
