  • Ingredients
    For the Dough:
    * 2 cups all-purpose flour
    * 1/2 tsp salt
    * 1 tbsp sugar
    * 200g (7 oz) ice-cold butter, cubed
    * 1/4 cup cold water
    For the Filling:
    * 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
    * 1 tbsp butter
    * 1/2 cup sugar
    * Juice from half a lemon
    * 1 tsp cinnamon
    * Powdered sugar for dusting
    Instructions
    Prepare the Dough:
    1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
    2. Add the cold butter cubes and cut them into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your hands, until it resembles coarse crumbs.
    3. Gradually add the cold water, mixing just until the dough comes together.
    4. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
    Prepare the Filling:
    1. In a skillet, melt the butter and add the apple slices.
    2. Add the sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon, stirring until the apples are coated. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the apples soften slightly. Remove from heat and let cool.
    Assemble the Tarts:
    1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out circles or flower shaped cookies with a cookie cutters.
    2. Press the dough into the muffin pan or min tart pans
    3. Spoon the apple filling into each tart shell.
    4. Bake at 350°F in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
    Finishing Touch:
    * Let the tarts cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
