You know, I used to feel so overwhelmed with problems in my house. But after watching enough episodes of Holmes, I can see my house is actually pretty well built and the problems I faced were pretty common and just magnified by my own ignorance and fear. I’m learning a lot by watching these episodes, and I feel much better about things these days.

This episode blessed my heart like no other. I saw the hearts of others as well as the heart of Mike Holmes. Mike is a true artist. Mike is a perfectionist. Mike loves people and has compassion for those who are suffering. I really enjoyed this whole re-do video. Great job and kudos to everyone involved.
In 2015 I tiled my kitchen in the house i just bought. Never tiled before, not a lot of construction experience in general. Guess what? I had to rip it all up two days later because half of it was popping up because i screwed up. 8 years later It's still holding up because i learned from my mistakes, plus did two bathrooms and a custom tile shower. I just can't imagine how a "professional" did this quality of work.
I fell in love with Sean during the first showing. He matches Holmes in being exact. But I also fell in love with all the professionals he worked with over the years. Teaching the trades is vital. We need to keep it up.
ok ive replace a lot of toilets in my day and i've always used double wax rings as a habit in all i have done i've only had one leak to go back and fix
mike this one touch home for me a bit i seen a tile job similar to that that you pulled up but it was in a mobile home and i told the owner before we moved them that all your tile will have to be redone when we move this unit she like what do you mean and i told her their are just somethings i can not control in life cause your going from a stationary position to a move one you will have flex in the floor how bad i can not say but we moved it for her and it only pop a 3 ft wide by 5 ft long section in the whole house where the thin set was not thick enough so i told her i could come back a fix it but thats a whole different job or its time to pull it up and redo the whole house she opt for me to fix what was there so i did and it has not move since and still looks good now i could have charged her to do the job about 400 bucks but i did not i just went back and fix it i told her to give me 3 weeks because that way the house settles in place a bit and they will be no cracking of the grout lines or popping tiles
To Mike Holmes I am very surprised like you about that tile company stepping forward and up to the plate to help you and those people to get a very big problem corrected so that wouldn't leave a big mark against them!
that's what I wondered as well, they really deserve credit for stepping up to the plate in every aspect, as they did. And that's even when they were initially owed money because the contractor had bounced the check. Fantastic people, and they deserve thanks and business for that.
He had a charity he worked with and many of the subs donated time. Selling ads on the show also probably helped cover costs. And I believe homeowners paid what they could when able.
Everything was awesome except for the weird “UGLY” square tile pattern on the floor. If that was My house and I would have seen that I would have told Mike I love everything but the ugly square tile that looks like backsplash. And I don’t want it in My house. I would then tell Mike - I’m going to hire Professionals to come in and replace the ugly square tile.
Holmes seems like a sexually frustrated person. He picks apart others to make himself look good. Residential construction is the easiest work on earth. Let’s not make it out to be a bigger deal than it is.
Tile is easy, floors are easy, house wiring is simple, plumbing is simple. After you survey the stakes, it’s pretty much all a joke.. at least on the residential end. I worked on a pipeline transfer station years back. That was actually pretty difficult. Conduit threading had to be very accurate.

I think when the episodes were uploaded they were done a bit faster than normal speed. You're right you have to slow it down a tad.
That is a company with some heart, willing to help the people out. Obviously they have been duped and so was the couple duped by the contractor.
