A Bee shelter. I've never seen anything like that. I guess you could also call it a Bee Hotel. Fascinating and wonderfully restored. Thank you Paul.👍

It's amazing, isn't it? I have never seen anything like it before. Yes, a stone built bee hotel!

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland,,,,
What a fabulous video. I've never been to Hartpury before. What a fascinating village. So much history to see in such a small place. The church, chaple, mill and beehives were incredible. I'm really happy that everything is preserved for prosterity

      Thank you Michael!
      That's very kind of you.
Yes, the village isn't very well known at all - mainly, I think, because these gems are well away from the main road.
      Thanks so much,
      Take care,
      Paul

Hi Paul, loved seeing the bee farm and that mill way off in the distance. The shots in the church were marvellous. You explained the relevant history well without getting too in depth. I find it hard sometimes to avoid giving too many facts about the things I learn.

      Thank you Donna!
Gosh, yes! I know exactly what you mean! I usually make copious notes before filming but I rarely use a quarter of it because I think it would make the video 'text heavy'. I definitely did that in the 'early' days of making my videos. Instead I now fingerpost my viewers in the description to where they can find more information on the particular topic if they wish to do so.
Thank you for your kind words. You have a brilliant channel, and please continue making your excellent videos. Unfortunately, videos and channels that tend to get high views on YT tend not to be that interesting to me, and they tend to focus on the negative or social conflict, something that I think we are both keen to avoid on our channels (unless it is birds in conflict!!).
We will continue doing our own thing!
      Take care & Best wishes,
      Paul

Very enjoyable! Fascinating bee shelter. A one off - or are there others? The tithe barn looks magnificently medieval, like the nearby church. The watermill is 17C apparently, and looks - from the outside - as if it might be in working order. The inhabitants of Hartpury are fortunate to be living amongst such splendid buildings.

      Thank you Malcolm!
I am not aware of any others.
I do think that the mill is in working order - but sadly inaccesable to the general public - it is quite a way from the public highway - hence the telephoto lens.
It is good that they have an active heritage trust to look after it all.
      Take care,
      Paul

Amazing- that video was crammed full of interesting facts. I’m sure I didn’t take it all in even after 2 viewings!
I don’t know anything about medieval bee keeping- but seem to think that those baskets are the usual hives they used then! Think I’ve seen medieval paintings depicting them. And they are so elaborately carved & patterned for something so utilitarian.
The church was lovely as was the tithe barn. It was bigger than the one that is famous in Oxon. Imagine the amount of grain it could store!
Thanks Paul- that was a most enjoyable 22 min!

Yes, a most unusual but well preserved village. A bit of a rarity and a gem too - glad there is a local heritage trust to look after it all.
      Take care,
      Paul

Hi Paul, what an amazing collection of buildings in such a small place.
Loved seeing the Lion and the Dragon high up. I will often photograph stone carvings when visiting these kind of places.
Malcolm's comment about whether there are more set me thinking, perhaps there are more, 25 more. Part of a printing complex, this one for storing the "B"s ..... I'll get my coat!!!
Lovely music from Esther Abrami to start with👌👌, a real Sunday treat.
    All the best!!

Yes, it was Esther! I noticed that she was performing in Worcester recently - as part of the Elgar celebrations. I wish I had gone!
Bees are fascinating creatures! Love to learn more about them.
Hope you have a good week!

@@davidberlanny3308 I went into The Guildhall in Worcester to have a look around the Elgar exhibition and although they had posters advertising it, they had already sold out! I didn't realise she performed live either - more amazingly I think she may live in Westcountry Wanderings land! Cheers David!
