Good tip for when you're always working with Nearest Pixel TOPs in a project, you can go to Edit > Preferences > TOPs and set the Default Smoothness to Nearest, one less thing to change with every TOP.
Gorgeous ❤, from that map you can get normals and from there fake light 💡… you ll end up with some 3d rocks. Kinda… i like the idea of the radial ramp, maybe with a look up you can get collision/relax the particles ?
Yeah. If I had less of a fall off and pump up the strength it could simulate collision too. Would require velocity feedback as well, but that's all doable.
@10:49 my render is black with R0.1 : 0.1 G0.1 : 0.1. At the beginning I thought there was an error because when I set constant2 alpha to 0 ramp2 + ramp3 goes black so I left it on. After re-watching your video a few times I noticed I had my noise1 set to random instead of random(GPU) but that didn't fix it. For some reason cam1 is full white even with constant2 alpha set to 0. I'm running TD version 2023.11880
Quite interesting kind of wishing I wish I was able do it web interactive to react to my hands or face … maybe can figure simple version of idea p5js ….
Super cool tutorial. Would love a little more in the way of quick explanations as to how the individual nodes work. Very useful as is, too!
Thanks. I’ll try and review the why more. This one was especially complex so I didn’t want it to go too long.

Oh man… how long has THAT been there.
@@DeanCheesman hehe, was introduced in Official 2022, soooo May 2022?

Is your render set to 32 bit RG?
@@DeanCheesman Yes and dithering is turned off
@@ValidPlacebo Are you viewing the render TOP using the 'normalized split' view option?

I’d bet you can. if you can implement an optical flow in p5js you could totally do it.
@@DeanCheesman Thanks for the tip :) this will be sunday creative break
How can I add the seed number? Can you show me how to change the seed num?
I set up my seed count starting around 1:00. Then I reference it in the seed parameter of the noise. Does that answer your question?
@@DeanCheesman How about at 1:22? Saw you increased the seed from 0 to 7, curious if you have pressed any keys to do so? Thanks Dean!
Damn! 🥵🤩
