It amazes me that all the kids who want to trash on the older fellas for enjoying some ball can't even manage to slow down the playback speed on youtube to see the clear interference.
Absolutely!! You don’t accidentally grab his leg during the late slide. I’m all for hard nosed play but that’s BS.

You guys sliding in to people for sport you may need a ball cap with some brains in it. People will get you back one way or another. They will act like they forgot about it. But you’ll see the shortstop can wait a while and retaliate.

Part of me feels the play was not interrupted, no big deal…but then there should be a warning, and if the runner on first was safe…should be an automatic out. I didn’t even see the ankle pick. Thanks for pointing that out.

It’s immature playing more than interference. Just give up a double play and keep all your teeth and joints working. Keep your tires inflated because this action gets you punched, kicked, and popped after the stupid game.

He slides on the wrong side of the bag, late, reaches out his arms even further inside and contacts the fielder. I don't see another way to see it besides a clear attempt to break up the double play.
He knew he was out at 2nd 8 steps before he even slid…no reason to slide. Busch league at its finest.

Runner sure got to second fast. Dirty slide but nobody hurt. Out at second. Probably safe at first. No interference.

@@brohanfromrohan5771 the only umping I ever did was during a few benefit tournaments. I played right much though up to and including with and against the “big boys”. Had the ump called interference on that play I would not have argued but in my opinion the fielder’s throw was not interfered with, he was late on his throw to first, that is unless an elephant was running.
