The Jordan River or River Jordan flows into the Dead Sea. It is considered to be one of the world's most sacred rivers. It is 156 miles long. The river drops rapidly in a 75 kilometer run to swampy Lake Hula, which is slightly above sea level. Exiting the lake, it drops much more in about 25 kilometers to the Sea of Galilee. The last section has less gradient, and the river begins to meander before it enters the Dead Sea, which is about 400 metres below sea level and has no outlet. Two major tributaries enter from the east during this last phase: the Yarmouk River and Jabbok River. Its section north of the Sea of Galilee within the boundaries of Israel, and forms the western boundary of the Golan Heights. South of the lake, it forms the border between the Kingdom of Jordan (to the east) and Israel and the West Bank (to the west).

I did. On the eastern side of the jordan river. That's where the authentic baptismal site is located. The israelis have created a hollywood version which from the videos does look good..... (an imitation of the original for tourists is as good as the original)...but for me to be honest when I reached the waters of the river jordan on the east bank, the moment I touched the water I felt something which maybe is felt only by natives of the region. It is a special river and it gave me a real sense of belonging... The feelings were not particularly religious ones, which the born again or ultra religious tourists feel on arriving in the holy land or to a religious site- a type of frenzy that we see in videos, but in my case it was a real and natural feeling of belonging to the river and its surroundings

I was baptized here last summer. I will never forget that experience! I know this is not the exact place Jesus was baptized by John but it gave me such a peaceful feeling just to know we were in the same river!!!! Israel, as you know, is going through really bad times. Be baptized as soon as u can but a relationship with Christ is just as important in which I'm sure u are aware of this an prob has one established already. I was blessed to be there in spring 2018. It is exactly as I pictured it (without the modern additions of course). I remember a small lingering breeze as I stood at the waters edge picturing John in the water and Jesus coming to him. It made the hair on my arms stand up.

During the severe drought from about year-1999 to about 2004, they diverted the Jordon river that resulted the Dead Sea dropping. So much of the Jordon clean water was used, that they were pumping mostly refuse at the end of the Jordon river into their neighbor nation.
One sign in this video says "going down to the river is forbidden", further down the river is a sign warning the water is polluted.

I know by now i cant manage to move there because of finance but by faith and through watching this video of Jordan river were Jesus stepped into.Also the water healed people with different sicknesses in Bible history, i believe the same God who was doing it for them by then, can do it for me today.
