Oren turns out to be terrifically charming and likeable and knowlegeable and generous with his knowledge! Todah rabah, Oren

I’m glad that you will continue making these videos even though tourism has restarted! Valuable and engaging information not found easily anywhere else. Thank you Oren!
Excellent, excellent; especially the commentary at the end. You are absolutely right. Here is a novel case where governments want peace but the people (of Jordan) do not. It says alot about the culture of Islamo-fascism.
Oren, something we love about your videos is that you want to show the TRUTH - reality in Israel. As you said, Truth is more important than tourism blogs. We'd love to travel with you, if we ever get to return to Israel (we are unvaccinated Australians, we may make it into Israel, but at this time, we would not be allowed to return to our own country). THANK YOU for all your videos - so important for us. Shabbat Shalom!
The level of hatred that some people are capable of is truly staggering. Hatred makes you incapable of learning and seeing differently, it makes the mind small and closed.

Thank so much for showing us these places. Your words are also full of wisdom. No one countries or peoples will ever prosper when hate is the main driving force! Just look around the world as you have said.
Thank you so much for taking us off the beaten track. God willing, one day I will make it to Israel and would be honoured to have you as a tour guide. Shalom and God bless you Oren.
I appreciated all your repeated warnings on how to stay safe and why it is important to follow the rules that will help keep tourists and the like out of harm's way.
Thanks Oren. It’s great to see some places I know and some places I only dream of knowing. You’re very astute at the reality of Jordanian (and other Arab) attitudes towards Israel. I’ve seen (and heard) it for many years. Such a shame when they’d prosper so much better without a hateful heart.
@@ericjoblutherjansen7954 Yes the Roman Empire did this in order to humiliate the Israelis. They found it especially funny to use the name of the Philistines, whose giant Goliath was killed by David when he was still a young boy. The Philistines also used the woman Delilah against the Israeli Judge Sampson. They captured him and gouged his eyes out. Knowing this history, the Roman Empire thought it was quite amusing to choose the name of a small group of extinct people who had formerly lived around the city of Gaza, to appropriate that name and apply it to the larger Promised Land, promised by God to Abraham, Isaac and Israel’s descendants forever. When part of the land was returned to the Jewish people as a homeland on their original territory, the name was returned to being called Israel. God changed Jacob‘s name to Israel in the Bible, and his 12 sons became the 12 tribes of Israel. So it is proper that the Holy Land is known by the name that goes back to its founding, Israel! The original philistines are also seafaring European people from the Greek islands, and were not an Arabic people. After the Philistines were killed off, within the last millennium these Arabic people moved in and appropriated their name. But this is the Promised Land that God gave to his people, rightfully named Israel. Look up online and see the size of the kingdom of David, and the Kingdom of Solomon. All that land belongs to the Israeli people, but they gave up rights to very much of it in exchange for peace. The nations of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are on part of this land today. So where is Israeli peace right now? The only Arabic people who want to live in peace that we know of for sure, are the ones living within Israel now, who are very glad they live in a democracy! A recent survey of them shows that they do not want to live in Gaza or any other surrounding Islamic nation. They appreciate that in Israel they have good infrastructure, good schools, the opportunity to attend university, many opportunities to get ahead in life, opportunity to start their own businesses and be a success! They have the opportunity to become a citizen of Israel and be part of the political process, even running for office if they wish! And an increasing number of Muslims, Christians and Druze are choosing to voluntarily join the Jews in the IDF! They don’t have to (like the Jews do), but they are choosing to. If you don’t believe me, look up Major Ella, Formerly known as Captain Ella. She is an observant Arabic speaking Muslim woman who is a Major in the IDF!

Shalom Oren and Happy Purim. As always, great insightful video. One thing to mention in regards to Tourists from Egypt or Jordan to Israel.. Israel’s GDP is about 3 times than the GDP combined of Jordan and Egypt. It doesn’t mean if Jordan and Egypt were wealthy, you would see more tourists, but it does make it harder for tourists to enter Israel from Jordan and Egypt as they can get a better tourists package from both Jordan and Egypt, than Israel. Yes Oren, another great video. I've been to Israel many times, but not to the Jordan river. The borders are usually closed military areas. And yes, the Arabs are very good at one thing, hating Israel. That is slowly changing.
I realky loved what you said in the end, about Jordanians. THIS IS REALLY THE TRUTH! adding to that, queen Rania, which is supposed to be a UNESCO embassador, "wrote" a children's book about "peace" but refused to allow it to be translated into Hebrew. Talk about hypocresy and hate....

Wow !!!!!!! this takes me back many years when I was doing a stint in the Israeli Army stationed for a month in this region. Every morning our group would walk the border from our base to the Allenby Border Check-post and I was always saddened to see these once flourishing but now deserted Churches....with hundreds of dead Date Trees standing like statues in some of the compounds. As it turned out a few soldiers in our group were Jewish new immigrants from Ethiopia and on the walls of the Ethiopian Church were sentences written many years before in Amharic. The region back then was off limits to the general public but is now [hopefully] mine free and open.
Oren, this video was fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. There is something poignant about how these places have literally had the life choked out of them by religious zealotry. I’m an athiest with a difference. I have a strong interest in the social positives of religious practices. Obviously we all know about the sense of belonging people gain, and the main social supports when there are not enough social provisions from government. But also I ponder things like whether praying 5 times a day in the very physical way that Muslims do it helps or hinders mobility. I also think of the religious texts as metaphorical and allegorical, as an effort to teach something complex at a particular time in history, and prophesies always seem to me to be informed guesses about the likely products of human psychology over time. Watching this video and hearing about the different things that occurred here really helped me to bring some clarity to the temporal considerations of religious practice ie that changes may occur out if sudden practical need that may not be apparent without looking at the historical detail of a region. Thank you.
I think the Dead Sea is so interesting. It was your video that first taught me that it is the lowest place on earth and that is why it has such high salt content. So interesting
