I really wish RUclips had competition for longer form content. I feel like its the long form content creators that are constantly getting shafted. Shorts can go to Tik-Tok, livestreaming can go to twitch and others. But videos? idk where else you would go? Years and years ago we had daily motion but google bought that and messed up the entire site, probably to make those viewers go to youtube. But hearing "RUclips Just Won the Content War of 2022" whilst still knowing how bad youtube is, its just awful news to hear.

I was originally on Sabrina's side, but started feeling weird about it as I saw more of how she was handling it, and then your videos pushed me fully into Gus' side. I still think that the ideal solution to the dislike problem was to show a dislike count that scales with the amount of time that the people who disliked the video actually watched it. That way 'dislike bombs' wouldn't be effective unless *every single participant* watched the whole video.

I'll be honest.. I've watched a lot of Shorts and even those that I liked, I didn't bother looking at the name of the creator and just moved on to the next short..
This isn't a good thing, sadly. A total lack of genuine competition has made it so content creators HAVE to play RUclips's game. Look at how many older channels have essentially gotten neutered by being forced to bend to monetization standards, or how many just gave up altogether. Look at how the poster children went from individual creators with a passion to big studio productions. The ability to simply have a fun idea you can put out to the world and hope it catches traction is coming to an end.

I am a very small creator on YT and about a month or two ago I made a short that got me about 5k in views and 40+ subscribers as of writing this comment I was so excited to see this and thought that if I made more content like that, I would’ve found my niche and would start growing in subscribers, I made a video using that same content and it did fairly well, but unfortunately after that I had to leave RUclips for a little bit of time due to loss of motivation and when I came back I posted a short with the same content and it only got 100 views All I can really say about is, if you’re not constantly pushing out content on shorts and keeping up with whatever trends are going on then, you’re going to get buried under 100s of videos that are practically the same but they use different coats of paint
As a super duper small content creator, I only see my self using RUclips and maybe even Instagram Reels. However I just like to edit and I'm a weirdo that doesn't care about farming impressions.
No one ever considers the other side of removing dislikes....Dislike bombing EXISTS. It has been a problem on the platform. Dislikes don't equal a bad video just like likes don't equal a good video.
one thing ill always disagree with the the sliker drama being the reason we should have banned gambling overall i think it's good that gambling is gone but sliker didn't gamble slots and he stated he did it even off stream i just think xqc or trainrecks would be a better weapon to use against twitch
