I really enjoyed your reaction! This band really changes my life! Im a huge fan of double bass like you, that feeling is amazing! Decapitated - Spheres of Madness, Im sure youre youre gonna love that!!! Much love from Argentina!
I really appreciate that you're diving into Gojira these days and appreciating the band as a whole and for the individual musicians and their parts. I play drums (almost 29 years), bass, and guitar but drums was the first love and Mario Duplantier has been a huge influence. I was fortunate enough to introduce my best friend to Gojira as well, another musician whom been recording with for around 23 years, and he fell in love with them too. Fast-forward to today, we recently bought Mario's new electronic, sample kit and it's everything I dreamed it would be/sound like on the electronic kit I use. I can see from the comments you're getting a lot of amazing suggestions to listen to. However, my recommendation is a little different. I think Gojira's song "Lowlands" would be an incredible song for you to enjoy and react to. From a technical standpoint, it's not the most out-there song like Flying Whales or the like. It is, however, one of the most emotional songs they've ever written. Even the song's imagery has so much depth to match the music and lyrics. I promise, you will not be disappointed. I would google "gojira lowlands meaning" before checking the song/video out to get the most out of the experience. Anyways, thank you for the wonderful content as always. Salud!
Hell yeah! So glad you reacted to this. Awesome review. I suggest you watch some live performances. "The gift of guilt" at Brixton Academy and "Pray" live at Red Rocks. Just mind blowing.
Best thing is to see Mario Duplantier at work live. This drummer lifts the whole band up. Never seen/heard it like that before. Love Gojira because of their sound and cause they are concerned! Vive la France!
If you want a very environmentally focused song by Gojira , then Global Warming (Live at Silver Cord Studio) would be an excellent choice. Very raw and powerful performance, one of the best live recordings they have made.
you MUST react to "Pray" live at Red Rocks extended version. the drummer is insane and musically very technic 🙂 Mario (the drummer) is one of the best drummer ever
Love this band. I've seen them live a few times and it was the closest thing to being in the trenches of the first world war. The drumming was that intense it was like guns going off. Such a powerful feeling being in the crowd.
Gojira is one of the best bands on earth!!! “In the Wilderness” is another amazing track from the same record (From Mars to Sirius). They are one of those bands that you can’t stop listening to. You are the best to check out my favorite bands. Now you need to check out Car Bomb- Secrets Within next or whenever you get to it. The drummer of that band owns a recording studio with the brothers in Gojira. I promise you will absolutely love them! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🔥🔥🔥🔥☺️😉😊👍🏽🙌🏽
Gotta see them perform this one live. The crowd goes crazy when the main riff starts and inflatable whales suddenly appear in the pit if they weren't there already.
I guess it's normal to have a strong attachment to the first song you hear from a band, but I still remember how satisfying the heaviness of this song was for me when I heard it. I don't know what my mood was at the time, but I was just sitting in a dive thru, and needed something heavy, but something new. And after that smooth intro, when the first guitar came in with that riff followed by the drop shortly after, I was satisfied.
I'd say this song is what really sparked my interest in metal, never really cared much for it before but same as you I was literally sitting in a drive thru just looking for music then I saw it. Instantly blown away and have been a metalhead since lol

This song and that chilling ‘breakdown’ blew my mind when I first heard it. Just so unique. Such a great band, check out Gift of Guilt live at Brixton.
This is the first video of yours that I came across. I actually just got picked up by Gojira to go out and tech for them on their upcoming Euro run. One of my good friends is their lighting guy. I’ve been listening for years and I’m super grateful for this incredible opportunity, and I’m equal parts excited and nervous! What you went through with this band just now, I felt that as well when I started listening to them. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend seeing them live, it is unreal! This seems like a very representative song for Gojira. Long intro, artsy and interesting lyrics, heavy with a carrying vocal throughline, fun guitar slide "noises", and lots of sections. It's only missing a fadeout to be the quintessential Gojira song. lol
I'm an album guy, and From Mars to Sirius is one of my all time favorites. So many great songs, and the pacing and flow of the album really coheres into a powerful whole. Well worth an extended listen, if you're so inclined.

It carries you in the air, the end of Art of dying was my call ringtone and the whales was the alarm ringtone. Soo much love in this music, I still find it hard to believe how underrated this band is. Their music should be in space. My favourite song is on this album, From the sky. It is a masterpiece.
I would say most of Gojira's music is about the environment. They're name means Godzilla and the original Godzilla movies are metaphors for humans effects on the earth and environment. Great reaction as usual! Can't wait to hear you react to more Gojira
If you listen to the Gojira catalog, you will see that this band is very protective with whats going on to our earth, and how humans destroy it, its not all Gojira stands for, far from, but its surely a topic for this band.. Lénfant Sauvage and the gift of guilt is my 2 favorite songs.. these 2 songs got some riffs out of this world.. 2 amazing songs..
This was the first, what I've heard from Gojira. Mostly weird heaviness has impressed me much, being heavier by every transition, and voilà - that breakdown hit harder and heavier, than actual whale) You should do more reactions to them)) And I want you founded Mgła. It'll make fall in love after listening \m/
Totally agree with you about the intro, when they create a "loop" it doesn't get boring, it becomes deep, and relaxing, I felt asleep many times with this intro, it's just so good, about your interpretation, yeah, you 're kinda wrong, the most mistake people do when listen to Gojira is to think they only do songs related to cimate change and stuff, this one is about the astral projection that the protagonist made to Sirius, sure it belongs to a bigger picture wich is related to climate change but, each song has his own touch and essence, loved your reaction btw, i can rly see you holding yourself to not be like crazy while listening, also you're rly cute, soo keep it up, Im gonna be watching more of your content from now on if i find any song i know, congrats XD

It's like sharing the discovery of your favorite musical groups with someone again) It helps me in this difficult time, and gives hope that we will overcome the evil we are fighting.
May I suggest Gojira's "Stranded", the MV is haunting. Some say its written for Mario and Joe's mother passing. The sound doesn't leave you for days. Enjoy your reactions.
From the early notification thumbnail, looks like this is the album version. Nothing wrong with that of course. But the live at Red Rocks performance of this song is amazing. Definitely check that one out if you haven't.
i heard this song the first time today. You've explained it perfectly for me usually i really hate it when the song starts off slow but i really appreciated it in this song because this song surprises the hell out of you later.
Loved your reaction! Gojira is my favorite band. Just everybody in this band is spot on. I'd definitely love to see you react to more songs! If you want something really hypnotizing, epic and heavy I'd recommend "Where Dragons Dwell" but in my opinion the live version is FAR superior to the album version because they change the song up quiet a bit :)
Gojira has been one of my favorite bands since 2011! I think you'd really enjoy: Gojira - Yama's Messengers Gojira - Toxic Garbage Island Gojira - The shooting star This band takes me to another dimension in time, just like Tool!
I’m so glad you picked up on the peaceful trance effect this band has. It’s something that I have never heard from other artists, at least not to the same degree that Gojira has.
This entire album is a masterpiece, IMO one of the best albums ever written. Also check out Gojira live, very few bands sound as good live as they do in the studio but Gojira is one of them.
The intro of this song is particularly effective in context of the entire album, as it is track 7 and we have already been listening to almost 30 minutes of death metal. The soothing intro is a great contrast, and a sort of intermission to the entire album.
So many great Gojira songs for you to explore. Seeing them in a live performance showcases their skills on another level. Some other popular songs are Stranded, Silvera, and L'enfant Sauvage
I first saw these guys live when “From Mars to Sirius” came out along with Lamb of God during their “Sacrament” tour. Fantastic Performance and outstanding artist.
In 2017, I recall hearing more and more about this band, Gojira. I remember that I created a playlist containing all of their material, just to see what the fuss was about. I gave a few songs a listen, but I just wasn't vibing with it, for whatever reason, at that time. Then, a little over a year later, one of their videos appeared in my news feed. It was a performance at the Pol'And Rock Festival. I clicked on it and gave it a few minutes of my time. ..And holy fucking shit.. It was an eye opener. That performance, on its own, turned me into a fan of these dudes. I started going back and really listening to everything they've done. They've become a favorite in recent years, and I'm so happy to see you've discovered them, as well. Look up that very performance, some time. It'll blow your hair back!
Really recommend checking out Global Warming, also from this album. They did a live studio recording video, because it’s a heavy (concept) song and would be hard to play live. Always gives me chills.
I hope you're ok. I don't usually leave comments on videos. I saw your "Hi Ren" reaction. I really appreciate your reactions, especially those you've done on Gojira, Opeth, and Rammstein, but all of them are very well-made, interesting, and personal. I find myself re-watching them every once in a while. Sorry, I don't have a good suggestion for you, I just wanted to say thanks.
I love Gojira. And this album is what got me hooked. I recommend checking out the entire album! You’d love it for sure! I’m gonna also HIGHLY recommend The Contortionist. An extremely talented band that gets no where near the recognition it deserves. Very djenty and progressive stuff. Their first 2 albums were like a mix of death metal with ambience. After the first 2, they got less heavy, but still a very ambient progressive sound. I’ll suggest to start with Language part 1 and 2. It’s off their 3rd album and at this time it was a new singer too. You have to do both parts! Gonna recommend them until I see them! Lol
Your reactions are great, its a casual listen and you do a wonderful job of explaining yourself and why you feel what you do about the things you feel stuff about. It's also nice to see you just genuinely enjoy these songs and rock out, I think a lot of people like that kind of a jam comraderie Also, your speaking voice is super calming/soothing, which is a wonderful contrast to the Rammstein, Gojira, Slipknot sound that you're usually talking about I know everyone has already put in their 2 cents on the subject of "What next?" but because you said you like the instrumental repetition Gojira displays, I'd suggest "The Gift of Guilt" specifically their live at Brixton version, or "Global Warming" live in the Silver Chord Studio, both will give you a little more of that, with Global Warming displaying a bit more of their activism side. As far as a new band goes, Rishloo is a band that gets compared to Tool a lot for their size. Obviously not to the same degree, but everyone is phenomenally talented in that band, and there isn't really a moment where you feel like "oh, this thing is carrying the song" it all feels like a masterful puzzle, from lyrics, to vocal technique, to drums, guitar, bass, concept, it's all quite wonderful. I'd say they fall into a similar category to tool as far as how heavy their sound is, even at their heaviest it's not quite Slipknot, but they're a definite touch more intense than say, Metallica for example. "Feathergun and the garden of the sun" is awesome, "Weevil Bride" Is pretty great too, and their latest/last? Album you can almost pick anything from, but "The Great Rain Beetle" or "Winslow", take the cake for me.
you've got the cutest metal face ever! you know that expression we all have when we hear something super heavy and are just like *insert metal face "Hell yes!!" throwing metal horns in the air. BTW there's a live Gojira concert video from Poland that you might wanna check out. Gojira's newest album "Amazonia" is about the rain forest and helping the indigenous ppl who inhabit that land. Also a band called Mastodon put out a double album called "Hush and Grim" this past year check out "Pain with Anchor" " Sickle and Peace" also "Gigantium".
Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Ondres. Founded as Godzilla in 1996, the band's lineup are brothers Joseph "Joe" Duplantier (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (lead guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass). Joe Duplantier and his brother Mario Duplantier, aged nineteen and fourteen respectively in 1996, decided to start a technical death metal band emphasizing melodies and recruited nineteen-year-old guitarist Christian Andreu. Joe Duplantier said, "We wanted to go fast and strong. We had no plan, no pressure ... We didn't even have a band name" In 1996, the band settled on the name Godzilla. The idea sprang from the original 1954 Godzilla black-and-white kaiju film and "the myth of the big furious atomic lizard ... It was, in our heads, a symbol of devastating power". In 2001, Godzilla was legally compelled to change its name. They became "Gojira". Godzilla = Gojira in japanese.
Based on your reaction to this, I can't help but think you'll be utterly aurally sated by Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope. A true feast for your earbrains. I recommend the Live In Colorado 2016 version
i met gojira for the first time at one of the gigs of pol'and'rock festival in poland, when they played stranded with flying whales i pretty much stood there completly stunned by the performance and songs, lights and colours of the stage was so trippy. Besides massive amount of people who were there with me i felt that i knew that was the best band i ever heard on my visits there
If you want really strong "punch in the gut" riffs like in this song, I recommend Yama's Messengers. Probably my favorite song from them, really underrated.

The intro of this song is particularly effective in context of the entire album, as it is track 7 and we have already been listening to almost 30 minutes of death metal. The soothing intro is a great contrast, and a sort of intermission to the entire album.
Yes more Gojira!! You're the best =)
You are!!

Beautiful song Beautiful reaction thank you and Gojira for such a really nice viewing and listening experience…
i would recommend "Gojira - World to Come (Live at Vieilles Charrues Festival 2010)"
Just saw these dudes again two days ago. Really one of best live performing bands I’ve ever seen.
One of the greatest metal banda out there, i meet Mário hes really humble and 1 of the finest. I love this band.
Really recommend checking out Global Warming, also from this album. They did a live studio recording video, because it’s a heavy (concept) song and would be hard to play live. Always gives me chills.
Oroborus- this is the best Gojira song and it’s even better live
I hope you're ok. I don't usually leave comments on videos. I saw your "Hi Ren" reaction. I really appreciate your reactions, especially those you've done on Gojira, Opeth, and Rammstein, but all of them are very well-made, interesting, and personal. I find myself re-watching them every once in a while. Sorry, I don't have a good suggestion for you, I just wanted to say thanks.
Holy Shitballs this as a kickass song.. gonna be getting into some Gojira now Hellya
The shred close to the end of the song is top tear metal.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lol
They are top notch - as writers and musicians. I saw them a few years back at Brixton Academy and they were excellent.
If you like the double bass, you'll be amazed by "Where Dragons Dwell" live at Hellfest 2013. I'd love to see you react to that!
7:32 speaking to double bass pedals, check out The Serpentine Offering - Dimmu Borgir. Hellhammer is a monster lol.
This gonna be EPIC
So glad you did another Gojira video
This song was my introduction to this band. They are great..Love the reaction 🥰🥰🥰😘
Your reactions are great, its a casual listen and you do a wonderful job of explaining yourself and why you feel what you do about the things you feel stuff about. It's also nice to see you just genuinely enjoy these songs and rock out, I think a lot of people like that kind of a jam comraderie
Also, your speaking voice is super calming/soothing, which is a wonderful contrast to the Rammstein, Gojira, Slipknot sound that you're usually talking about
I know everyone has already put in their 2 cents on the subject of "What next?" but because you said you like the instrumental repetition Gojira displays, I'd suggest "The Gift of Guilt" specifically their live at Brixton version, or "Global Warming" live in the Silver Chord Studio, both will give you a little more of that, with Global Warming displaying a bit more of their activism side.
We didn't even have a band name"
In 1996, the band settled on the name Godzilla.
Hi! Just leaving a suggestion.
Children Of Bodom - Needled 24/7
Intense, it's the word that better describes Gojira's sound. Even the calmer or "softer" songs are dense and intense in their own particular way. 🙂
i met gojira for the first time at one of the gigs of pol'and'rock festival in poland, when they played stranded with flying whales i pretty much stood there completly stunned by the performance and songs, lights and colours of the stage was so trippy. Besides massive amount of people who were there with me i felt that i knew that was the best band i ever heard on my visits there
My favorite Gojira album is ' The Link'. Check out the song, "Death of Me", it is heavy raw and very different from most of their tracks.
Gojira is always a spirutal journey and same time sounds heavy. I recommend "the heaviest matter of universe" from them
Just listen to all of the songs, they all are truly amazing.
If you want really strong "punch in the gut" riffs like in this song, I recommend Yama's Messengers. Probably my favorite song from them, really underrated.
Agreed
