Dr. Wily Stage 1 (MM2) Fusion

- What if the most famous Wily stage theme to date, beloved and detested by many, made consistent appearances throughout the rest of the Mega Man classic series? That would've annoyed off a lot of fans, without a doubt, but it's an idea I was eager to explore, and in the process I strung together a grand total of 15 distinct arrangements, all made by me in Furnace and FamiTracker. It took a lot of time to brainstorm, draft, and polish every section of music, not to mention how long I spent focused on achieving near-perfect accuracy to each game's unique style. But it was all worth it, and I'm stoked to share with you all my love letter to this series (sorry, X fans, there's plenty of full-length covers out there for you to enjoy). See my pinned comment below for some honorable mentions of games that were considered but ultimately did not make the cut.
By the way, a large part of my inspiration stemmed from a MM9-styled cover by @marcine.mukuchi of this theme (I'll link it below). "Flash in the Dark" is an excellent homage to the most iconic Wily 1, so it only made sense for that track to serve as the basis for her arrangement. When I reached out asking for the MM10 samples used in her uploads, Marcine was not only kind enough to provide them, but also expressed excitement for the project's completion. Thank you again, Marcine, your support means the world to me!
I'd also like to give a shout-out to a few other awesome people:
@AndrewAmbrose, for his general support and knack for explaining things
@forple8930, for offering percussion used in the RMW3 section
@Plide, for helping me with the Game Gear section's noise channel
@infinite_sun_rays, for sending me the GBA instruments used in the MM&B section
... and @MeeowsMusic, for illustrating and editing together the thumbnail art. It turned out amazingly!
The footage in the background is from walkthrough videos by the following RUclips channels: @MegaQuint, @gr3mxr642, @videogamephenomhd, @worldoflongplays, @Sliider36, and @Overhazard.

Sorry if you didn't see your favorite Mega Man game in this video. Here's the ones that were considered but eventually cut:
- the original Mega Man (its sound didn't lend well enough to the theme)
- Mega Man: Powered Up (I would've had to find each sample on my own)
- Mega Man 11 (I'm not experienced enough to recreate its synths)
- Mega Man: The Wily Wars (it's already in that game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
And lastly, the various spinoffs (X, Battle Network, Zero, etc.) That would've opened up a whole new can of worms...
I assume 9 didnt make the cut for being too similar/the same as 10?
11 would probably be similar to Smash Bros tho. Or Just much more synth-eey
@@Annexialol Mega Man 9's would be just be the Mega Man 2 version wholesale
@@Annexialol MM9 was not considered because the project was inspired by an existing cover in that style by another channel. I've linked it in the description
It’s too bad you don’t have the shorts feature to show us why/how the original mega man failed to make the theme sound good
Sadly, the inner side of me want's to hear a fully remixes of each one.
They sound so good.
Even the dos version? You sure are a simple guy.
DOS or nothing @@-originalLemon-
@@-originalLemon- Mostly, 3-6 and III GB one was my favorites.

1:22 This One Sounds Really Good
おっくせんまん!おっくせんまん!
In an alternate reality, this is the green hill zone of the mega man series
This made me realize how powerful Wily Stage 1 feels at slower tempos.
0:59 really love this part a lot
hell if this was how it actually sounded it would be one of my favorite songs in the series
2:18 I loved the mega man msdos part
2:29 this part is so satisfying
The Mega Man II (GB) part? If you say so! 😅
LOL the Mega Man (ON DOS!!!!!!!) section.
Thanks, it was my favorite part to make!
@@levir.starsmusic Wait, did u actualy played Mega Man for DOS while singing the actual song?
@@BlizzardoBuffalardo nope, I had trouble getting the DOSBox emulator to work, so instead I layered keyboard sound effects over footage of someone else's playthrough
@@levir.starsmusic Oh, makes sense now
Human voice soundfont. 😂
Greatest love letter to everyone who composed for the mega man series
I'm truly honored, thank you!
This is so awesome, every game represented here got replicated well! (That MM1DOS section is funny)
is that because it hasn't soundtrack, right? you need to imagine and sing it for your own, no? hahahaha

Gonna need a full version of 5, 6 and 10 those were mastered FLAWLESSLY
Haha, wish I had the time for those full versions but maybe someday; thanks so much!
I agree on the front of the MM10 one.
Yall are sleeping on the 2 Gameboy one and the Game Gear one, those deserve it as well
@SuperRy21. MM2GB/World 2 hell nah but I agree with MMGG
I imagine the exact whole video but "I was never book smart I'm money smart" playing on the exact tempo on each one lmao

These are all great! :)
0:34 I wasn’t expecting both the SNES and GBA versions of Mega Man and Bass. You even got the WonderSwan sequel lol.
1:33 I played this weird little Game Gear game quite a few times, and can say that this is very accurate.
1:46 I got the cartridge for this one recently, and can say that it is also accurate. :)
2:30 Almost forgot about Mega Man II. It sounds just as high pitched as ever lol.
I got fucking sucker punched by the MM&B section cause I was going "Why not use the perfectly serviceable GBA logo instead of the JP one?" immediately followed by getting slammed with the GBA MM&B section
1:59 Mega Man 7. Spinning platforms in the background.
I really like the change in scale during the end of the Game Gear section
Gotta have those wrong notes for accuracy!
That one first Game Gear part was so catchy.
That Mega Man 4 one was just prefect, you straight up COOKED with this one! 👌
Absolute masterpiece. This goes straight into my playlist.
You're too kind, thank you so much!

My sadness was completely destroyed because of this soundfont fusion, that was very good.
This was an interesting idea and a few well executed takes on an iconic theme. Saw this posted in the OCR workshop and decided to listen. Nice job.
Ive seen this in the MMM server and still surprises me, good job you made here and keep the peak!!! 🔥🔥🔥

The only ear bleeding Mega Man music is Heat Man and Ring Man.

Pretty solid, I must say.
I'd say my favorite ones would have to be those done in III (GB), 4, 6, 7, SNES &Bass, and 10's style.
I was half expecting DOS to just be pure silence, but this was much funnier.
this is actually the best video ever

If there can be a soundtrack with mm2 and mm5 combined, I can die happily. It'd be my funeral music.
Mega Man II version legit makes the song sound way better. I want the full version.
In fact I want all Mega Man soundtracks remade in that soundfont exclusively for my listening pleasure.
I'm not joking. I'm a gigant Rockman World 2 fan.
@@genyakozlov1316 I have an arrangement of the NES Metal Man Stage that I finished but haven't posted yet
I'm a Rockman World 2 fan too, in fact, from every Mega Man Gameboy I have ever played, this one is the easiest one to finish, and I mean, without saving states, cheats or anything. And even high pitched, the OST is really incredible, my most favorite soundtrack is Top Man.

i’d MOURN an extended version of the MM10 ver, this still sick as hell though
ROCKMAN 10!!! YESSS
Mega Man 5 section seems to have that frantic feel to it.
It used the Dark Man theme as a base, BPM included, so that’s probably why.
@@AverageJoeMama interesting.
I would love to hear the full versions of these remixes someday, especially the Mega Man 5 remix
Nice!
I like the back to back to back Rockman & Forte part
MM7 and MM10 went hard
FR, and mega man III
0:60 It gave me vibes from the same song in smash bros
The Mega Man Dos one was genius.
Shame that 11 wasn't there but awesome job anyway!
Thank you
HOW IN THE WORLD DID RM&F for Wonderswan Appeared??? Nobody ever made a remix using the samples of that game, and it sounds so good 😭😭😭😭😭😭 HOW???
1) Isolated the audio channels using Oswan, a WonderSwan emulator, and recorded each one throughout different parts of the game
2) Used an Audacity plugin called Nyquist to generate waveforms from recordings I captured
3) Imported the waveforms into Furnace while sampling the noise channel for the percussion
... and voilà, a fairly accurate reproduction of Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future's sound. Hope this helps!
0:59 Mega Man 6. So grand.
I really want the8bitdrummer to play this song like he did the other Wily fusion collab
It would make no sense to drum to another fusion of the same thing

@@torino20 if he does, it could give the video more attention, also the guy did 5 versions of Megalovania, 3 rush E's and multiple We are Number Ones
@@space470-1 I mean yeah but those Megalovanias were variations, same for the Rush E's and the WANO's, this is a fusion of a song that already has a fusion that he already drummed, would be redundant
