My pit ran the best on Castrol Edge. Always add full synthetic. The vibrations went away quite a bit and the bike feels smoother to run. Plus before on this oil they advertise here, it was a night mare to start the bike in the winter. Now with Castrol...no problems.
nuw in a beginner with all of this but i know in cars you gotta change the oil filter, how does this work on pit bikes ? This might seem to you like a dumb question but i wanna know how this works.
if its a wet clutch just make sure its the right grade of oil, my bike for example takes jaso ma but ive been using jaso ma2, the ma2 will make the clutch more grabby compared to the ma, not all oil has the same grade so check the bottle before buying. Sometimes certain oils will actually work too good and cause the clutch to slip. I'd use mineral oil if ur gonna change the oil after every ride or so, if ur gonna be lazy get full synthetic.
I've got a question, my bike has had same oil in it for months now but only rode it twice, within that time, should I change oil before the next ride or will it be OK or nahh cos its a bit smokey
If its stock there is no real need but they do look cool haha. If you are going to build up the engine it isn't 100% needed but it would help a lot. I have an ssr 125 c1 that I put a tb 146 bore kit, race cam, exhaust, bigger carb, and an inner rotor. I have been running that setup for around 3 years and it still runs perfectly fine but it goes through oil faster (due to faster/ higher revving which causes more heat)
Feral Potato i just put 700ml in and run it in till warm then wait around 10 to 15 mins and check the oil and if its low add a tiny bit of oil until it looks good on the dip stick
alex racette Depends on the bike and your riding style. Ripping it all day I'll say about 10-15 hours. You should check your dip stick before every ride, have a look what colour the oil is and if it looks old change it out. Another thing to take into consideration is what oil you use, if you use cheap stuff then it won't last as long as the more expensive and better stuff.
hi i was wondering if you sold dipsticks that was in that bike on the video because i have a stomp 140 and i don't have my dipstick due to having an oil filter on the bike but i have trouble getting the right amount to put in my bike thanks
if you change oil every 15-20 hours of riding time thats perfect i do that on my pitbike and my enduro bike also i use Motorex 10w50 for both bikes and engine on the pitbike couldnt be happier
But how do you measure 15-20 hours riding time ? lol do u use a stop watch and when u take a break u stop the stopwatch and wen u ride again u start the watch again ?
Yo buddy, same thing happened to mine. locate the oil breater. It's a pipe usually coming from the top of your engine sticking up and away from your bike. Often when the bike is being shipped the put a cable tie at the end of the pipe to stop oil escaping though if this is left on the pressure builds up and pushing out the seal in your flywheel casing. Cut off the cable tie so the pipe breathes freely, open the flywheel casing, and push the little seal back in, in the center. put cover back on and you should be sweet.
hi I am about to buy a 110cc pit bike tao tao db14 off of the site named power sports max is that a good site and what oil do I need for it because I'm new to this somebody pls answer
Ford101 no dude hes right all motorcycles when bought brand new have really shitty oil that is just meant to keep the internals from rusting during shipping. everyone should change it before they start the bike
Wesleyworkswith Cars could do but not most of the time if you have problems getting into gear change the selector forks because thats what happened to my old 125 cc pit bike
I have a pitster pro x5 pitbike with a yx150 motor on it.. im having issues i got the bike running good and idleing fine.. now while im holding the clutch in and put it in 1st gear it jumps and instantly dies as if im not even pulling the clutch handle in put i am as far as it will go and still has this issue.. starts up fine in neutral till i put it into gear.. also online says its a start in any gear and in 1st gear with clutch pulled it jumps when kicked over as if clutch isnt working and its sitting just sitting in gear with no clutch used any ideas ?
Same problem here. The clutch itself is the problem. You will have to change the clutch discs or replace the whole clutch. The clutch is too weak to handle the power. Chears!
I had got some crf 50 forks off you but the did not fit any motorbike I have so I tuck the handle bar holder of it and it it on me project pitbike looks nice but waiting for new engine parts to come in if you want to buy one hit me up the bikes are new and can be ran in by my self so it saves you the time I have never messed up on a bike only the forks but all well and done
Am I glad I've come across your channel. Just brought my son a Stomp 140 and he's gonna need to learn how to maintain it 👍
My pit ran the best on Castrol Edge.

This might seem to you like a dumb question but i wanna know how this works.

hi I am about to buy a 110cc pit bike tao tao db14 off of the site named power sports max is that a good site and what oil do I need for it because I'm new to this somebody pls answer
do i have to change the oil immediately when i fix my bike (i will get it tomorrow) and it's a 125cc dirtbike
no your supposed to change it after the first 5 hours if its brand new
Ford101 no dude hes right all motorcycles when bought brand new have really shitty oil that is just meant to keep the internals from rusting during shipping. everyone should change it before they start the bike
Your should at least let it idle for 5 mins before changing it though. If you don't then there's no point in doing one.
Ford101 you dont have to let it run to change oil, it will flow no matter what. letting it run just thins it so it will flow out faster.
Flow faster and there will be less in the system after it drains.
do you know how to take the governor off pit bikes
is it bad to ride with shipping oil
+Bodhisattva23 , Yes its usually some shitty bulk oil they use just to get the inards wet. Replace immediatly
the oil it comes with is cheap so get new oil

To get the last bit of oil out of the jug, I always add a bit of petrol. Then swish it around then put in the engine
😂 for 2 stroke mix yeah definitely but engine oil
That is so stupid... you are diluting your new oil.
And this is why I never buy second hand..
Anybody know how much oil a stomp z3 140 needs ? Thanks
