How to Make a Rustic Barn Door

- In this video, we show you how we built a barn door for our shop bathroom. We went super simple and used a left over piece of galvanized roofing from an old chicken coop when we moved in and some scrap 1x4 and 1x6 lumber cleaned up on the planer. Emily applied a single coat of stain and Alex hung it on the locally sourced barn door hardware. This went super quick and easy. Total cost was $50 plus tax for the barn door hardware, and $0 for the scrap lumber and galvanized. We then splurged on some black iron pipe fittings to make a door handle.

Nice job! This is on my "honey-do" list for my wife! Thanks for the great video. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Cute little barn kitty cameo. Great video, been thinking of building something like this for my house. Thanks for the walkthrough!
That barn cat is the sweetest. It’s impossible to keep her out of the videos. She prefers to join in with some vocals every time I’m talking 😂
Great job
Thanks! Great instructions!
Which is better for the walls the OSB or pallet boards? In terms of durability and hanging things. I can't do OSB here in FL with the humidity, so would be plywood or the pallet boards.
If I were in your shoes I’d probably do do plywood. The pallet boards are awesome for appearance and the rustic look, but they aren’t the quality I would want for consistent wall surface throughout.
@@TarshaHomestead Good idea thanks, I'll probably just do one accent wall with the pallet boards too and the rest plywood
