I am quite surprised, that 1985 the "Internationale" should still be anthem of USSR. As far as I have researched, it was no more official anthem since 1944... Then, the new anthem was introduced.
oh, and by the way ... to do the high jump, DON'T push and hold up as soon as you jump. flick the stick up just as you go over the bar. it took me damn near 10 years to figure that out because the damn manual was written poorly. :D
i'm still amazed at how the SID chip could bring the bass. for those who've never heard a C64 in person, it literally does sound almost identical to this.
My sister and I loved playing this as kids, but it always pissed us off that our (Australian) anthem wasn't actually on there. I mean seriously, what is THAT about?
@penguincentral "advance australia fair" wasn't made the official national anthem until 1984, which means it's entirely possible this game might already have gone to press/packaging before then, or epyx just didn't know about it.
Yup. Would also be great to listen all songs fully. Far as i know there isn't complete versions of these tunes. But if there is, please someone inform me too, thanks!

that's not the danish anthem o.0 the official danish anthem is called "der er et yndigt land" and is much more beautiful. this is the unofficial anthem "kong christian stod ved højen mast"
@Potatish You expected something different from a game written during the cold war? No way a game written in America would be caught dead with anything to do with the Soviets.
I he been trying to emulate summer games 2 but every time I launch it I get my ears raped by the loading sound, then it plays the first seconds of the song, then gives me a screen of "e's" then it crashes. anyone know why?
I realize you asked this two years ago, but the answer to your question: the song at the beginning of the game is “Bugler’s Dream” and is also known as the Olympic Theme.
By the way, the "Internationale" is used here as the Soviet anthem. This is historically incorrect, they should have used the "National Anthem of the Soviet Union".

Nope. When we think of the Soviet Anthem, we all think "SOYUZ NERUSHIMY RESPUBLIK SVOBODNYKH SPLOTILA NAVEKI VELIKAYA RUS’!", not that that other crap.
Considering "The Internationale" was replaced in 1944 with "State Anthem of the Soviet Union," it seems odd that Epyx went with the long obsolete version.

Why did they use The Internationale for the anthem of the U.S.S.R.?
They were only off by 40 years...give them a break.
well it was used then XD
11701250 It wasn't. The actual anthem was adopted by the Soviet Union in 1944.
@@herbivorethecarnivore8447 actually it was, used when the RSFSR was founded then later used more until 1944
It was during the cold war, so they "hated" the russians
These tunes bring me back to the time when (most) things were "well and good". And even if they weren't, I was certainly not the one to blame, anyway.
This would be really good for an orchestra to play at an international event, all the anthems fit really well together.
This brings back a lot of memories....good times. Cheers for the upload.
Japan's anthem is so short it's the only one to be played in full!
Denmark too
Australian national anthem is actually an old folk song "Waltzing Matilda"
I know you got the C64 version of those national anthems. Perhaps those for Amiga sounds almost as real as it gets.
Awesome. Though I'm curious why they opted for the Internationale instead of the Soviet National Hymn (the proper national anthem) for the USSR.
4:12 Ayrton Senna
That’s a good Italy anthem!

Wow!! That brought a lot of memories!!!
No Epyx theme? They had a country in the game.
i'm still amazed at how the SID chip could bring the bass. for those who've never heard a C64 in person, it literally does sound almost identical to this.
Western Germany, since 1989 it´s passed away and reunioned.
Eu lembro que havia me surpreendido quando eu vi as músicas dos hinos serem tocadas.
Always liked Denmark’s When it played I remembered it note for note.
After so many complains, I've finally uploaded the missing tune. My apologies for the missing tune. Enjoy!
hi
Miss my old C-64!!!
No Advance Australia Fair? The anthem was adopted in 1984, this game came out in 1985. WTF?!
Kyle Y The game was probably in production before the anthem change and it was too late to change it.
My sister and I loved playing this as kids, but it always pissed us off that our (Australian) anthem wasn't actually on there. I mean seriously, what is THAT about?
@penguincentral
"advance australia fair" wasn't made the official national anthem until 1984, which means it's entirely possible this game might already have gone to press/packaging before then, or epyx just didn't know about it.
which means they should have used "God Save the Queen"
Yup.

I LIKE THE NETERBLANDS ANTHEM AND AUSTRÁLIA ANTHEM AND THE IRELAND ANTHEM
Point there! I just thought only real national songs would be enough, sorry. Thanks for commenting!

Great upload! BUT.... you forgot the Epyx anthem. :-(
No East German anthem? Why?

No, im not 5 years too late, you were just too early!
@markus137705
I'm glad you like it! Thanks!
?...!
@penguincentral Yeah, I know! It always seemed weird to me that they couldn't get that right.
I used to pick Brazil just because of that... tune!
Yup, you're right, and so does C64. Although I left it out because it's not a real country. My apologies for those who wanted to hear it.
Marcha Real was amazing
Jesus Christ that is the worst attempt at God Save the Queen I have ever heard.
MY EARSS
Just keep in mind the limitation of the SID chip, especially in the early days they haven't figure out the multi timbre tricks.
say that to U.s.s.r.'s theme, its not correct
Libya band playing UK anthem is worse than that
that's not the danish anthem o.0 the official danish anthem is called "der er et yndigt land" and is much more beautiful. this is the unofficial anthem "kong christian stod ved højen mast"
how about the Atari 800XL version of the National Anthems from Summer Games II?
Thanks for commenting!
@Potatish You expected something different from a game written during the cold war?
No way a game written in America would be caught dead with anything to do with the Soviets.
so they got the union jack on Australia right
but the UK flag has bits of blue where red should be
*w h a t*
Imagine a banger Soviet anthem chiptune
Fuckin awesome! I love my old times!
It is now updated! Please check the video response, thanks! :)
HIlarious how the Australian anthem is "Waltzing Matilda" here and not the actual anthem "Advance Australia Fair"
What???? NO EPYX???? RIPOFF!!
That's true, still I don't mind hearing a SID version of Waltzing Matilda!
Soviet Anthem ftw.
where is south Korea? so much memories.
Usaram esse hino no gol da Coreia do Sul contra a Alemanha kkkkkkkkkk
I he been trying to emulate summer games 2 but every time I launch it I get my ears raped by the loading sound, then it plays the first seconds of the song, then gives me a screen of "e's" then it crashes. anyone know why?
where's E.Germany ?
The Summer Game 2 of Apple II version has a country "Epyx".......-_-"
Please check the video response, thank you!
I forgot that the Spanish flag still had Franco's eagle so it surprised me.
The Spanish Francoist flag is shown?
clarification: the official australian anthem is actually "advance australia fair."
Woo hoo!
Agreed with you on the anthems, but can anyone tell me what's the song at the intro of this game?
I realize you asked this two years ago, but the answer to your question: the song at the beginning of the game is “Bugler’s Dream” and is also known as the Olympic Theme.
Is the theme at the beginning, an Olympic anthem ?
I never knew Norway’s national anthem was “Deck the Halls”! 😂
USSR and Ireland are wrong too 😂
countries
its Danish Royal Anthem.
By the way, the "Internationale" is used here as the Soviet anthem. This is historically incorrect, they should have used the "National Anthem of the Soviet Union".
God, I am easily entertained.

That sounded rather accurate to Kimigayo, if a little fast.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEENN!!
Acho que a trilha não tá certo no hino da Rússia.

Nope. When we think of the Soviet Anthem, we all think "SOYUZ NERUSHIMY RESPUBLIK SVOBODNYKH

It's the Interntionale, one of the first anthems of the USSR
Considering "The Internationale" was replaced in 1944 with "State Anthem of the Soviet Union," it seems odd that Epyx went with the long obsolete version.
i always liked brazil.
USSR Anthem is not The Internationale, Waltzing Matilda is not the Aussie Anthem.
I think this game was made before Advance Australia Fair was the Australian anthem
@@gornkeger Even then it was not that song.
The British one sounds really garbled...

Like because of brazilian anthem
Ese no es el himno de la URSS
'Murica
Fuck yea.
Stop giving it attention! It did the USSR anthem wrong!
Gotta be said, Epyx failed royally with the Aussie anthem...
old anthem of south africa
Tha international was never the anthem of U.S.S.R
sutanpuu from 1922 to 1944 it was.
Oh, ok. You learn something new everyday. But I think this winter games computer game happens WAY past 1944, yes? Probably yes?
sutanpuu Yes the game is from 1985, but, unlike some other games, at least they used an actual Soviet anthem even if it wasn’t the most modern.
Maybe they didn’t include the actual one because they hated the USSR
Maximilian Weber I've even seen some games where ode to Joy is used
Spanish flag is out of date.
Even at that time it was outdated
