Ha! Thanks for the memories! Back in the day we did 12-hour Lotus III competitions , and even planned a 24h one. We never got around doing the 24h, but we still plan to do one some day ;)
I don't wanna sound like there's nothing good about games today because that's most definitely not the case but I have to admit that one thing I miss from back then are these very melodic (and easily recognizable) soundtracks like this one.
@katakisLives Well regarding the Pc version it depended on if you had a propper soundcard. But to be honest i prefer the Amiga version to, but thats just the nerd in me i guess . . . ;)
@thepezdispenser I'm sure the game played fine! in that department they are probably almost impossible to tell apart, what I was referring to was the very poor music of the PC version! with the Genesis it was more understandable because it had a poor sound chip and it was a big ask to expect really good audio from a console, I assumed the PC version would be a perfect facsimile and was surprised when it wasn't
@sybnios I own the Amiga version and the Genesis version! I've veiwed video's of the PC version and Based on my experience with the Atari ST I'd say its probably inbetween the Amiga version and the PC version, only slightly better than PC!
@thepezdispenser .. That is because you played Lotus.. Nuff said.. Lotus on a handheld calculator would still be awesome.. But Amiga did shine with Lotus. Amiga shined with everything. nothing like it today, thanks to 3D crap and polygons and bullshit textures.. The people behind Amiga must have been gods because no one has cloned it or even come close, even with advanced technology today. Amiga will go down in history not Xbox or PS3 etc. Please come back Amiga, I'll trade my wife :P
Have to disagree. I had access to a £1600 "state of the art" ADlib equipped PC when Lotus was released and there is just no comparison to a £300-£400 Amiga 500. I wouldn't say the PC soundtrack was utter crap but it has aged extremely badly. The Amiga version sounds as good as it always has. i.e. Awesome. Try getting hold of the mp3's of the whole soundtrack and substituting your favorite modern racer's sound with them (NFS Hot Pursuit races never sounded so sweet) to see how well it's aged.
@FunteX Have you heard the PC version! that's the most disappointing of all! you'd think they could get the music right on a PC but they rarely did! most PC versions of Amiga games sound very poor! the Genesis version was as good as they could make it given the limitations of the sound chip in the console! the Atari ST version sounds very poor as well! sounds bleepy and 8 bit! the game play is largely the same! (the Joypad did change the feel of the game) the musics all here as proof on youtube!
@katakisLives You are soeaking for yourself, since a few of them were pretty much identical. But as going to say that they were and epic fail compaired to the Amiga version is going to far . . . Cheers . . . . ^^'
Dobra muzyka nie musi oznaczać muzyki z nowych NFS-ów. A to przykład, że dobra muzyka w grach była nawet w czasach amigi :D
dzieciństwo mi sie przypomniało

LeMans in gaming:
"It's just a funny car game for the amiga man, don't do nothing crazy...ah shit."
This and the Turrican 2 soundtrack.... not forgetting sensible world of soccer... my childhood right there
when words not enough, its extremely super ! thanks a lot for upload.
Thanks for uploading this dude, it rocks the room!
I love this chiptune! amazing one, and great game too :-)
@katakisLives I remember the PC version being the same. Maybe it differed between sound cards
Marketing worked. A game from 1993 made me (born in 1992) wanna buy a lotus. A lotus elan.
So did you buy one yet? ^^
Nope, still gotta save some money^^
vedabou better buy a Esprit Turbo SE
+vedabou Marketing would work if you were not just another wannabe. ;)
best racing game music ever!

Two people couldn't figure out to refuel the Lotus.
I've got the Genesis version and the Amiga version, I guess the Sega version got the job done but it was inferior on all counts.
that game was awesome :)
👍👌
Nostalgia

Settlers I. FTW!
I reckon I'm the only one who prefers the soundblaster versions...
@katakisLives

czujesz sie w obowiazku pouczac kazdego kto popełnia mało istotne błedy?
@Bawbag"Adlib was never state of the art in PCland, Roland MT-32 was considered that ~90.
Even a Vic20 had better sound than an Adlib.
