1:00 There are pen slots on the top left and right corners of the organizer pouches, but they are the same color of the interrior so they kinda blend in
Very good video. I have the same bag and mine has 2 pen slots. Each one is located on the outermost edge inside the first and third organizer pocket. Initially I thought it did not have any until I took a closer look.
Yes, this! Please check more carefully. I mean, maybe your Tropos doesn't have the pen slots but the ones I've seen do. As the previous poster said, there are two of them, behind the outside two pockets in that organizer area. They are skillfully made to be completely out of the way, should you not need them (and I can see a lot of people may not) but easy to get to and use, if you want them. Also, love that Osprey didn't make pens take up the entire slip pocket. It can go behind other things that might be in the pocket and still remain easily accessible.
Ironically, what you mentioned about the organizer panel is true on the previous model of the Tropos. I actually find that I would prefer the simplified one, and it sounds like you would have greatly preferred the organizer of the previous model.
TemjinZero the previous tropos organiser looks really cheap. The new one is much better and so simple. I don’t understand why people complain about that
I don't mind zipper covers where I will be putting my laptop and phone chargers will be. I also don't mind not having pen slits because I found that I carry more than what bags give me. So one pocket to stick them all in would make sense for my use case. As far as a hook goes, I feel like Osprey always skips it in their bags unless it was a hydration dedicated pack. They have it on Deuter and North Face packs. I was gonna get the Radial but decided on Tropos because the water bottle slant placement on the Radial wouldn't work for me. Also the separate laptop compartment is great for my uses.
Congrats for your review. I am between Tropos and Nebula. Which one do you prefer? My main use will be for everyday carry at work and carry on flights.
I gave this video a like, because you explain things very well and clearly. However, depending on the color you choose, there are very good contrasting colors for the inside. I got last year’s model in Sentinal Gray and it has chameleon (?) green on the inside. Concerning durability, I think your rating could have been higher, but we really won’t know until after a few years of use.
help? for college student- Osprey, Greenroom136 Rainmaker, Synik 30? Or perhaps one I do not know about; on this video, you gave this a 7; which have you given a 10, perhaps that is my winner. You mentioned "the one behind me" beat this for comfort but I coudln't understand what you said, what is that pack?
I really liked your review a lot. 😍Could you please tell me the model / brand of the 28 L black blue backpack (hanging to the right of the Osprey Radial)? It looks nice. The Tropos would be more attractive with a sturdy wide hip belt, so that we females wouldn’t have to carry the whole weight on our shoulders. Thanks 😍
I have an older Opsrey Momentum (30L) from 2016 that finally broke after 5 years of straight use. I used it everyday for work, travel and it also did well for hiking too. Osprey can't replace it since it is no longer available, but they have offered the following as replacement. The 34L Radial, Nebula or Tropos. I saw the Nebula in person and it seems okay but the quality seems a bit down from what I had. My should straps and padding seemed to be a bit beefier. Any recommendations on those three options? It will be used mainly as an everyday pack, then traveling as well as hiking. Btw, I might be able to get something else but not sure what that would be. Thanks!
@@dabyo3883 I got the Nebula. I use it daily for commuting and it also doubles as a hiking backpack. It’s very comfortable for hiking even completely filled up with food, extra clothes, water and some camera gear.
Quite the negative review for such a celebrated backpack and your opinions are mostly focus on your own preferences rather than a consumer point of view.
..also man, seriously sorry to hear about your knee, please please have a look at kneesovertoesguy Ben Patrick. He's like a knee prophet!! His stuff helped me a lot, I'm getting my youth back and freedom to do sports again. He's the ultimate when it comes to knees recovery and injuruy proofing

I have the same one, what’s your thought on the hydration hole on top of the laptop department when it rains?

Have you decided on which bag to get? I’m currently torn between the two as well.
@@Phut68 yes, I decided to get the Tropos. Awesome!
@@candidobm Good choice, the mesh back panel was the deal maker for me.

Ah I saw that the 28 L backpack is called Timbuk 2 and you did a review before. Thanks 😊
