      Cash and Fiat in general is not great to save. The buying power is worse every new year.

    The most important point was forgotten here: Securing your own power supply - because what use are all the strategies if there is no electricity coming from the public socket...

    Web privacy and OS privacy are a challenge to protect with the same sword and shield. Web requires knowledge about what behavior is normal or abnormal in a given context.

    The haircut thing drives me nuts, even though I go like 5 times per year. I've gotten into the habit of creating a new identity (name, address, email, phone number) every time I go in. Because of how infrequent I get haircuts and the turnover rate of stylists, nobody remembers me when I show up 3 months later for another haircut. Plus paying in cash really helps.

    I am not an expert on data privacy, but I am glad to hear that what I have been doing was the correct thing. As a rule of thumb: whatever the platforms WANT ME TO DO, I do the opposite. So if they keep nagging me to install the app, I don't. I go to youtube or fakebook via a browser. I have more control over ads and everything, so yeah. And I also tend to switch off the bluetooth or wifi when I am not actively using them. Just today I found out the DPD was sending me messages which I was not receiving (yesterday), until I turned my mobile data on. I don't know, are SMS too expensive? How does it differ whether I receive a message with wifi/data or SMS?

      @D.von.N 16 дней назад

      @OklopnikSilni right, I hear ya. Just what's the point sending messages people don't receive? LOL. Yeah, majority have all their data turned on all the time and complain the battery doesn't last for a week like in the past. And some get hacked on top of that.

    It's all a bit of a tradeoff and what you're willing to share for what you get. A couple of points:
    - For me it wouldn't matter what phone OS I use as I run propitiatory apps for works so it has to be either iOS or Android with Google Playstore
    - At least with Android, un-used apps get privileges taken away after a certain time period
    - I can't see how having Bluetooth connectivity constantly on allows data harvesting as you generally have to input a code to connect to another unknown device for the first time?
    - I like free cheeseburgers from the maccas app, but hate their order machines as they're constantly out of paper 😂🤣

      Part of it is the bluetooth ID of your phone can be tracked possible even to the point they know which places in the store you stop to look at something on a shelf etc. They can also connect the bluetooth ID with your phone number from other places and accounts etc etc🤬

    • @peterschmidt9942
      @peterschmidt9942 15 дней назад +1

      @@michaelcummings7246 Ok, they might be able to see your BT ID, however again, they'd need to enter a pairing code to be able to connect with your device. Maybe it's something to do with how your BT is setup?

    TAILS. Full stop.
    And there’s little to no privacy folks.
    Learn what Privacy, Security, and Anonymity is and the very clear distinction between them. Your best bet online is to be anonymous but you won’t be private.

    Speaking of churches, cancel CCLI. They’re collecting data on the songs your churches are singing every Sunday and lining Blackstone’s pockets. You don’t need CCLI to sing songs in church. You legally have the right to sing any song in church thanks to fair use
