Some little kid wanted me to update it but I would never, I wish there was a mod to get back this old design Update: I have a rgh now and have messed around with different dashboards. Highly recommend getting a rgh, especially after the Microsoft store closure
I can recall being so excited for this update! As soon as it was done, I must've bought $20 worth of avatar clothes. Telling my friends to hop on and look at my avatar lol. Those years were truly the peak of my childhood, and this console made it happen.
Just get a PC lol. It's cheaper more powerful and you can use either Xbox or PS controllers on it annnd you can customize it however you want the only limitation is yourself.

I never played online with the Blades dashboard. In Summer 2009 Whenever I was able to first get online on my Xbox 360, and downloading the NXE update, I was the most excited I’d ever been in my entire life.

Man i almost forgot about the old Microsoft Points system used for making purchases, back before the currency system was changed to just regular money balance. Reminds me of when 1 vs 100 was a thing, where people would compete to win a share of MS Points prizes, which was so much fun to take part in with friends, and I would even call family into the living room for some of the tougher questions that popped up to try get a quick answer before the timer was up!

Well, if you get an Xbox 360 game on the Xbox one, series x, or series s, the 360 bootup will start when the game is launched. The same with OG Xbox games.
The background in the early Avatar Editor from the NXE Update is actually still available as part of the "Day" theme on the Xbox 360 Metro Dashboard. It's one of the default themes and it can be applied on your user page, under the Social tab.
When this update came out, I refused to participate in the Avatar selection that is featured in this video. So for the remainder of my Xbox live subscription which was a couple of years before canceling it all together my avatar was always a blank white silhouette. I loved bypassing that. To my knowledge, once you selected an avatar, there was no way to delete it. I was one of few that had a blank avatar like that.
I wish I did had a Xbox 360 in 2005 but I was 1 when this Xbox 360 came out but I did had a 2010 Xbox 360 when I was 8 at least but you can enjoy your life with friends though
There were ads on the Blades as you can see in this video but they weren’t in your face or would detract from the visuals if the Xbox was offline. Xbox needs that now more than ever

we really need to see the new xbox experience return on xbox series x so much room for the background to breathe while still letting you see everything important the main thing thats making me think why they aren't bringing it back is because they wanna keep the ad's and the ads can't really fit on this design. if thats REALLY an issue than they should make it so if you own xbox live then you don't see ad's anymore
I wished they had a dashboard saver so you could switch to whatever dashboard you love with Xbox live that would be a dream come true and maybe there could be a way to get Kinect and avatar on the old dashboards
There is a mod called dashhack you can use on modded consoles so you can play modern plus connect to the latest xbox live servers by using the new kernel on old dashboard to you can technically still use the old dashboards and revive the old days btw where's your discord yet i want to talk with you

But, they fucked up when they released the Metro update in April 2010 for support with that useless Kinect sensor
