Wonder if the outfit's leather? Sexy as all hell and half of Georgia, at any rate.

Jody handles the fiddle as well as Jana Jay does.

Yep! And that's Danny Wheetman fiddling with her - he played with John Denver off and on for many years.

Anyone know who the fellow playing the fiddle with Jody is?

@@jacktfowler246 Thanks man! I saw a tube of Denver doing the song 'live' but it was with another fiddle player. I wrote Jody an email a few years before she died and one of the things I asked her about was the name of fiddler but she didn't remember. It was so cool to get an email response from her, which was in fact one of the few replies from an artist I've ever received that was actually real. Usually they have their artist rep, tour manager, or an assistant do that, like the times I reached out to Buck Owens, he had his right-hand main man Jim Shaw write me back. Merle Haggard usually had his drummer Biff Adam write me back or his steel player Norm would call me when I'd reach out to Hag. I was shocked that Jody responded to my query so quickly and with such a kind personable, reachable manner. Barry McGuire was like that when I wrote him. It's hard to accept that Jody's passed on. She was such a cool, down to earth person on top of being such an incredible singer and music artist. A real Country Girl from Oklahoma! :) May she RIP!

@@CiscoDuck always happy to share information to a fellow country fan 🙂 I think John Sommers is the other fiddler who played in John Denvers band. Sommers also wrote thank God i'm a country boy

@@jacktfowler246 Interesting! Thanks for the info. I aways appreciate knowing who played what and who were the writers of great songs. I haven't studied Denver's music but I appreciate it. ;)

@@jacktfowler246 Sure enough, Sommer's played on Denver's original recording of the song. I'm into fiddle players! One of my best friends was Johnny Gimble (he recorded one of my mandolin tunes turning it into a fiddle tune) and Paul Anastasio has been a pal for years - I've played with him (guitar & mando) and he also recorded my song on fiddle and even wrote out the lead sheet music for me when he was touring with the Gatlin Bros. L.A. session legend Bobby Bruce was another one I got to know and play with. I tried to play the fiddle but sound like I'm killin' cats - Gimble told me, "There's only two things you lack: finesse and authority, and you aint got neither one. Gimmie back my fiddle! (his 5-string)" He laughed and patted me on the shoulder because he thought my feelings were hurt (no way!) and added, "There's only one thing worse than a guy who can't play the fiddle and that's a guy who can only play a little." I said, "Yeah, that guy is me!" We had a huge laugh over it in front of Willie, Chet and Garrison Keillor (backstage after rehearsal for Prairie Home Companion road show at Bridges Hall at Claremont College near Los Angeles, CA in Nov 1886. Incidentally, Jody told me, "At least I had the good sense not to try to overplay on that TV taping and managed to stay out of the fiddler's way. LOL!" :)
