    Got m1pro and m3max . M3max upgrade is optimized for 3d apps and gpu. If you run those apps then you will see a huge performance. 3 min render vs 19 seconds blender scene using metal and ray trace accelerator. Editing hardware render encoders are exactly the same on m1 to m3. 2 for the max. Save a few seconds on m3max cuz the encoders are the same . Try rendering using software and you will see a huge difference. Also if you use effects, those will use cpu and gpu.

    I am still using a 2019 i9 iMac with 40 GB of RAM and a baseline 580X graphics card. I just edited a 1.7 GB panoramic photo using Photoshop Elements with some lag but the editing process was fine overall for a prosumer. I imagine that even an M3 Pro MB Pro 12/18 with 36 GB of RAM would make the editing experience so much smoother. GeekBench test results show that this M3 system doubles the performance of my iMac.

    • @ThisIsTechToday
      @ThisIsTechToday  6 месяцев назад +2

      Oh, man. Let me tell ya, I have that Mac Pro there, and it was the worst purchase I've ever made because it was so dang expensive, and it didn't solve the issues I was constantly having while editing. Add in no upgrade path, etc., it's a dude. Moving from that to an M1 Max MBP made my Mac Pro look pathetic and ran so smooth, fast, and without random weird bugs and issues all the time. You could fit my MBP INSIDE the Mac Pro, perhaps multiple, and you get a great screen, keyboard, and battery, and it'll perform better than the Mac Pro at a fraction of the cost.
      All that to say, upgrading will probably shoot you off into space, give you 4 more inches of height, give you X-Ray vision, and flight, and also edit photos extremely fast and smoothly. No guarantees on anything but the photos though. lol

      @ThisIsTechToday  6 месяцев назад +2

      You will be absolutely blown away by how much faster, smoother, and more stable it is. I cannot explain it enough. When you upgrade you will wonder why you waited so long. If you ever need to justify it, think of when you’re on a deadline and you’re trying to finish something fast and you’re waiting for something to load or export. Or if you’re super efficient and always on time or ahead, how you could get an extra project done every week or month. That adds up. I think it’s a great investment if you’re doing production work.

Apple is hyping the new Logic Pro 11 with session musicians for bass and keyboard, but Apple previous Logic 10.8 had session drummer and mastering assistant ran on any of the M-series chips and Intel Mac. If doing audio or just basic computing the M1 and M2 Max Mac are excellent and can be found used and great prices.

    Great video. I chuckled along with everyone else watching Apple compare their M3 chips to Intel chips. Of COURSE it would beat a four year old chip! Until I learned 50% of Mac users are still on Intel devices. That’s a HUGE, untapped market already in their ecosystem. Since selling hardware is Apple’s bread and butter, trying to entice those 50% of users to switch from intel to M series Macs will be the marketing push for a while.
