Great video! I think best bang for buck is a refurbished M2 pro. Goes for $1599 on apple’s website, 16 gigs of ram, more ports, much better than base M3. My thought process was exactly the same as yours, I initially ordered the M3 and upgraded the ram to 16 gigs but then realized for only $200 more I get all the benefits of the M3 pro. But for someone who refuses to pay more than $1600, I think the M2 pro is unquestionably a better bang for buck than the base M3
The base MB Pro 14 (M3) is targeting a specific market, really an ultrabook. It is excellent for those of us that can easily live with 8GB of RAM and are looking for a bargain; already $250 off during Black Friday and Amazon in the UK has £150 off so £550 less than the base MB Pro 14 (M3 Pro). You get all of the main features (120Hz, miniLED) but just do not get extra ports, more RAM, and pro chip. I expect ion a few months the discounts will be even higher, maybe £1300 in the UK for that base M3 chip.

most people will get the most out of the base m3pro over an m2pro or m1max hence the better single threaded performance and efficiency. M2 pro had great deal at Costco few days back at $1599 with $50 extra off during checkout bringing it down to $1549 for 14” and 16gb RAM. Can’t beat that price and bang for buck Even M3 Pro base version is going for $1799
Purchased the 14" in silver with the 12 core pro chip a few days ago, so just waiting for it to be delivered. Will be good upgrading from my 2016 12" MacBook. That on top of a student discount made it a reasonable buy in my eyes. I also plan to use it for several years, so the pro chip should do me good down the line.

Hi there, this was an incredible video! I love your outline, and very honest and rational approach. You hit the nail on the head with each segment, and I really appreciate the pacing and video production. I will definitely subscribe, and look for your reviews in the future. Great job.
M3 Pro\Max chips this year are really geared for 3D artists more than video editors and for good reason as its been a forgotten user segment that is mostly dominated by PC users using Nvidia studio laptops and desktops. If you're a 3D animator that wants to come back to the Mac than pick the M3 Pro/Max over M1 or M2 anything because of the new gpu architecture and much needed support for hardware accelerated raytracing which isn't available on previous M Series chips. Especially if you use gpu rendering in your workflow via Redshift and Unreal Engine 5.2 and above. Gamers and 3D professionals finally getting some acknowledgment which is refreshing. Still waiting for someone to review the M3 Pro vs a 40 series GPU in 3D content creation workflows.
I am very excited to upgrade in a few weeks to the Macbook Pro M3 Pro! Writing this comment on my 12 year old (!) 2012 Macbook Pro Retina (back in the day it was the first time Steve Jobs introduced the retina display) which i bought when starting college in 2012 for a wopping 2700 euros of student money. What a journey it has been for me with this device! It stood with me during my 6 years of college, i wrote my master thesis with this laptop, i wrote my girlfriend (now wife)'s master thesis with this laptop, i started my first wedding photography business with this laptop around 2018 which made me a ton of money and now currently my wife is using this laptop for her own baby photography business that she started and she still using this laptop for professional photoshop editing! UNBELIEVABLE. It's crazy to look back on the journey! But it's time to move on, I am sure the Macbook Pro M3 Pro will be worth every penny over the long run too and i hope to write a similar comment in 2036!!

Finally upgrading from my 13” 2018 Intel MacBook Pro to this beauty. I chose the base 14” M3 Pro chip in, of course, space black. Got it for $1500 after trading in that Intel Macbook! Cheaper than the M2 Pro and base M3.. can’t go wrong!
Quick question mate! Been wavering between the top M3 PRO chip with 36 gb of ram and the base 14 inch M3 max. The price difference is $300 (I have the education discount) so at that point I'm like I may as well just get the max, exactly how apple gets you haha. My main use case will be editing and grading 4.2.2 10 bit footage in resolve + extensive education use. Really would love your insight!
Haha yes that’s Apples grand plan. That’s how they get ya. Tbh based on your use case the pro should be ample. You could use the 300 for accessories or save it.
I’m a photographer. I got 64 RAM so the computer will meet my needs for a while. I’m upgrading from a 2019, older than M1 and the computer is having trouble. I will keep this one until it is having trouble and given the cost, I hope that is five years.
I got a M3 with 24GB ram and 1TB storage ($2199) instead of M3 pro because I need more than 18GB of ram but feeling 36GB is overkill ($400 upgrade price for M3 Pro) 18GB ram is fine if you are planning to just use macOS but considering if I need to boot up Windows on Parallels to do some Windows software development, I don’t think it is enough. Typically when getting Windows laptop, 16GB memory is the recommended. If I assigned 16GB to Windows, macOS would only left 2GB ram to play which for sure isn’t enough and it will be using swap memory. I feel that M3 is powerful enough for my workload and rather spend the money top up on memory and storage.
I was looking to replace my M1 MBA 13 8/256 2020. It was 3 years old and sold it for $440 to online retailer. I settled on the MBP 14 M3 18/512 that was on sale for $1799 as best bang for the buck.. Also happened to have $420 cash back on credit cards so that's a total of $860 off. So I guess it depends on how you look at it. I love the MBP 14 M3 Pro. Even if you aren't maxing out the capabilities for the MBP, the screen, sound, ports, and how snappy it is doing routine stuff is still worth it if you don't mind the slightly heavier weight compared to a MBA 13. I'm not sure how much more you would want to spend on a laptop, but 36GB or ram for extra $400 would still be a good value. I still have a PC workstation that I used most of the Adobe Suite on professionally, FCP, Maya, but I probably wont be using professional creative programs in next 3 years, as my business is a lot of everything and the basic photo editing and decent camera and lenses is sufficient for what I'm doing, and if I get back into any creative projects the MBP M3 Pro will have a lot of options and capabilities. And if you are already deep into professional creative workflow you already know what you need.
Hey so I am upgrading my 2015 MacBook Pro and am super excited. I've been playing around with some not so advanced video editing for a possible social media channel. Not looking at anything 3d. Pretty amateur stuff but I just want to make sure I have enough machine for what I will be doing. I definitely want to move in to the new MacBook pro M3 Pro. Which spec would you recommend for what I am going to be doing?
What do you think about saving 300$ and just getting the M3 instead of the M3Pro for us of personal light editing on Adobe Premier? I have a 2016 Mac Book Pro with Intel chip and it works fine for me. The only issue is its 8 years old and I am looking for a new computer to upgrade. I like the MBPro as it has the external card slot instead of the Air model....any thoughts?
make sure you look at adobe premiere minimum requirements as you need a decent amount of memory to even open the app. For a pro level computer, 36gb is the lowest I would go. For most, the max is overkill.
I'm looking to purchase my first Apple MacBook, and I'm interested in learning video editing using software like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects. Additionally, I want to dive into photo editing with Lightroom and Photoshop and then start my youtube channel. I'm aiming for a laptop that will last me at least 3-4 years. Currently, I'm using a Windows laptop for simple tasks like Word, Excel, and web browsing. Any recommendations or advice on which MacBook model would suit my needs best?
Really informative video! I have a 2019 16” MBP, 8C/16GB w/1TB and am looking to upgrade. Definitely want 16”, but am conflicted about the best configuration: M3 Pro 12CPU/18GPU/36GB w/2TB or jumping to the M3 Max with 14CPU/30GPU/36GB w/2TB. Neither are inexpensive, but want to make sure I really see the difference if I’m spending over $3000 on an upgrade. Thanks!
Tausif, would the M3 Pro be good enough for school, e-commerce, and possibly dabbling in photo and video editing over the next few years? I’m trying to talk myself out of the Max because even though I like going max spec everything (more important to me on a phone than a computer), I just don’t see myself using it to the extent the Max was designed for. Money isn’t an issue either, but if I don’t need to spend it, I won’t lol Edit: I know an M2 Air is good, but I want the better display lol
I code and even record videos and do 1080 Livestream for an AI chatbot on a 2013 MacBook pro. You don't need the Max xD. For light workloads you might even profit more from the higher number of efficiency cores.
Just started watching this video . Below is my journey. Order number 1> on Apple website M3 with 16gb of ram.£1899 i think Was great but I looked that m3 pro was only 200 more so (returned) Order 2> MacBook Pro M3 pro base model 14 inch (I fell in love with this device ) perfect paid £2099. Found the price on Amazon Apple Store for £1949 so returned the one I got to Apple Store as they don’t price match and now in two days I get my final M3pro model for £1949 (I have gone with finance as well 10 months 0% interest ) so will be earning interest on amount via saving account while I pay for it. (Financial arbitrage )
Please recommend the best MacBook Air or Pro for someone like me who is a PhD History student, and who has been getting by with my 2015 MacBook Pro with 512GB. I have 190GB still available, and iCloud subs. I don’t play games or edit videos but I work with PDFs and Safari all day long. Please help me choose the best option while maintaining a sensible budget. I am not in the habit of buying new devices; I only upgrade when I have to and my laptop struggles a little at the moment. Thank you for your very informative video. I hope you will give me your advice.
looking to upgrade from a intel mac but idk if i should settle with a mbp m1 pro or spend extra for a mbp m3 pro chip. I intend to use it for premiere pro, ae, lr, and student work
Is it worth to upgrade from MBP 16” mid 2019- intel i7 16gb 512gb to MBP 14” m3 pro 18gb 512gb? Or go old version like m2 pro or M1 Max .. my work on Lightroom/photoshop and light work on 4k 10bit video editing?
Hope to see video comparison between 14 inch MBP M3 Pro and Refurbished 16 inch MBP M2 Pro I have hard time to decide between brand new MacBook Pro M3 Pro 14 inch with 36GB RAM, 1TB SSD or Refurbished MacBook Pro M2 Pro 16 inch with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD. Currently I am using MacBook Pro 16 inch late 2019 on Intel i9 with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. So, I don’t have any issue with portability at all. The indecisive comes from the M2 Pro vs M3 chip and RAM difference between those 2 machines (36GB RAM on M3 Pro vs 32GB RAM on M2 Pro) Which one do you think has better value and better investment protection between brand new MacBook Pro M3 Pro 14 inch with 36GB RAM, 1TB SSD and Refurbished MacBook Pro M2 Pro 16 inch with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD? I am not video editor or digital content creator or any graphic intensive users here. Any valuable input is welcome. Thank you.🙏🏼
I’m coming from a tower Mac Pro 5,1 12 core setup with an RX 580. I ordered an M3 Pro 12 cpu core option with 36 gigs of ram. I think it will be a night and day difference. I’m a blogger/web developer
M3 Pro specifically is a joke - same performance as M2 Pro and even slower sometimes. The same media engine third year in a row. My i9 from 2019 exports video 10% faster in H.264. And yes, don't forget the pricing - it is almost 700$ more than M1 Pro and M2 pro was (and many other countries as well). Now M3 base configuration is actually good if you can get it with 16GB... after a year... at a discount. M3 Max is good as well, a beast of a machine for the price. And everybody kinda missed the fact that M3 Max now has a chad and a simp version, so apple expanded the product line, but did it seamlessly, as they didn't change names
Ray Tracing ... LMAO most end users don't even know what that is and is also not a thing they would end up using most of the time. And with the lack of a large video game catalog on the M series processors after 3+ years the bell curve of Apple buyers will still not be using it most of the time. Hardware-based ray tracing is an update to Apple original mac core users at best. Not sure why they are using it as a marketing buzz term for their general users though.
The fact that with the upgraded model you get a second fan for cooling and only then, would be enough for me to not get one. I didn't know this was a thing. Then as mentioned the insane base specs for RAM (and SSD I would say). Which wouldn't be THAT bad if they were user upgradable, but they are not. For me, if I had an M1 system, I would say a big fat no to them. To clarify, while I do believe I am objective, I am also very much poor and I can't buy a simple cable not just an Apple computer. This might indeed influence my thinking and it is why I am mentioning it...but I don't believe I am wrong. Thanks for a very good video and speaking out.
These are premium laptops and not aimed at the mid-range or cheaper market, like a Ferrari is not aimed at the average user. This has been forever and it is branding and a business strategy. Even the MB Air, the base Mac is not value compared to same spec mid-range PCs, and it is not meant to as it competes with XPS, Surface line, Galaxy Pro, etc.
@@andyH_England Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome to me. Finding excuses for the abuse and siding with the abuser. The fact that they are premium as you say and you are paying for that premium should be enough to DEMAND better specs and better approach for the customer.
He bought the baseline MacBook Pro M3 pro without making the improvements Apple offers (more ram, internal space, etc). Sarcasm is a privilege, handle it with care.
What about a MacBook Air 2017 intel? M3 or m3 pro or m2 pro? My first choice was just to get a base m3 but upgrading the ram but might as well get the base m3 pro plus space black

Bought the M3 Pro with 1tb SSD. Coming from a 2015 air with 4GB ram and 128gb ssd is amazing. I’ll never use all the power, but the machine is fantastic.
Choose the M3 base model if you're a casual user; only 15% of users need this. Opt for the M3 Pro base model if you're on a budget and do coding or editing (40% of users). Consider the M3 Max base model if you're a professional in coding, video, photo, or 3D work (30% of users). Apple nudges users towards the M3 Max lineup this year, but it's likely affordable for professionals. Avoid the 14-inch laptop due to reported heat issues, resulting in 10-20% lower performance, as confirmed by Apple reps, MaxTech, and ArtIsRight.
True, but I would recommend the MacBook Air for casual users which is probably 90% of the population , the base M3 MBP are for the 2% of people who need a Mini-LED display tbh , and then the other 8% should get the M3 Pro/ Max MBP
@@Applecore365one complaint. We shouldn’t call the base m3 mbp. They don’t call it a pro, it’s not a pro. Just the same chassis. Like literally. It’s not on the tab….or on the box. It’s a MacBook. Not a MacBook Pro. Sorry just a pet peeve…RUclipsrs and people in the comment keep calling it a pro and it’s not.
@@ohmyv3gatron well Apple calls it a MacBook Pro hence why people are referring it as a MacBook Pro - for Apple the Pro name stems from the other hardware choices not necessarily the chip - for example iPad Pro and iPad Air both have base chips but the iPad Pro has mini-LED and promotion , similar to iPhones - you think everyone buying a “Pro” iPhone cares about performance? The pro just means more advanced hardware to be fair
What about those who haven’t bought a laptop since 2016 “windows hp”. Would use it to play league of legends 😂 and school work, would the m3 base be sufficient 🤔 or would you rather just get the pro chip and be future proof
It's not just about if you want the latest and greatest... it's also about whether or not you want some of the new graphical capabilities. ie. ray tracing, etc...

I have a early 2015 macbook pro looking to get the m3 pro!
Good choice!
Great video bro nice pov
Thanks!
All great options and yeah super tough decision! Glad I could help!
I'm gonna wait for the M3 MacBook Air. Hopefully they fix the base ssd and I can finally upgrade my M1 Air.
I have M1 Air too I think I will wait next year too
Tausif, would the M3 Pro be good enough for school, e-commerce, and possibly dabbling in photo and video editing over the next few years? I’m trying to talk myself out of the Max because even though I like going max spec everything (more important to me on a phone than a computer), I just don’t see myself using it to the extent the Max was designed for.
Money isn’t an issue either, but if I don’t need to spend it, I won’t lol
Edit: I know an M2 Air is good, but I want the better display lol
I code and even record videos and do 1080 Livestream for an AI chatbot on a 2013 MacBook pro. You don't need the Max xD. For light workloads you might even profit more from the higher number of efficiency cores.
I confused between Black and Silver Colour.
Please suggest !
People said it has minor scratches issues
Just started watching this video .
Below is my journey.
Order number 1> on Apple website
M3 with 16gb of ram.£1899 i think
Was great but I looked that m3 pro was only 200 more so (returned)
Order 2> MacBook Pro M3 pro base model 14 inch (I fell in love with this device ) perfect paid £2099.
Awesome!!! That’s exactly what I talk about in this video. M3 pro makes the most sense! Congrats on your purchase!
I’m on Amazon uk right now😂 in what colour did you get it?
@@japanluv I got silver because it’s fingerprint free . If you want to put a skin on it you can and change colour but I liked silver .
@@haroonvlogs5437 Thanks. Enjoy the machine 🤗
@@japanluv it’s arrived . Going to set it up this evening . (Third machine and hopefully the final one )
Hey Tausif how's the performance now? Actually I'm planning to go with 512Gb variant and I'm a content creator.
What about the M3 Max? Is 36gb ram worth it? Versus 18gb?
Sir is this laptop good for daily use of word excel and powerpoint?
I have never used a mac before and have been a lifetime windows user
good review
Please recommend the best MacBook Air or Pro for someone like me who is a PhD History student, and who has been getting by with my 2015 MacBook Pro with 512GB. I have 190GB still available, and iCloud subs. I don’t play games or edit videos but I work with PDFs and Safari all day long. Please help me choose the best option while maintaining a sensible budget. I am not in the habit of buying new devices; I only upgrade when I have to and my laptop struggles a little at the moment. Thank you for your very informative video. I hope you will give me your advice.
Would you recommend the M3 Pro 11 core or the 12 core version?
I want macbook for music production. Which one should i buy, macbook air m3 chip or mcbook pro m3 pro chip . I want my projects to run smoothly
it's a beast.
I want to buy a new laptop now, never had a macbook, should i go for the 16 inch m2 pro or m3 pro??? Thanks guys, my budget is max 3k
Awesome video
Hear that macbook pro's display blurrs the content like fast action scenes, is it true?
Literally this came off a windows laptop that died.got the 1tb storage with the un-nerfed m3 pro chip
looking to upgrade from a intel mac but idk if i should settle with a mbp m1 pro or spend extra for a mbp m3 pro chip.
So, I wish I kept my M2 pro. Now, how do I tether with this?
The keyboard sadly is a disappointment in comparison with thinkpad. Amazing laptop in total
With your m3, what does your cache stay at?
Hope to see video comparison between 14 inch MBP M3 Pro and Refurbished 16 inch MBP M2 Pro
I have hard time to decide between brand new MacBook Pro M3 Pro 14 inch with 36GB RAM, 1TB SSD or Refurbished MacBook Pro M2 Pro 16 inch with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD.
Currently I am using MacBook Pro 16 inch late 2019 on Intel i9 with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. So, I don’t have any issue with portability at all.
The indecisive comes from the M2 Pro vs M3 chip and RAM difference between those 2 machines (36GB RAM on M3 Pro vs 32GB RAM on M2 Pro)
Which one do you think has better value and better investment protection between brand new MacBook Pro M3 Pro 14 inch with 36GB RAM, 1TB SSD and Refurbished MacBook Pro M2 Pro 16 inch with 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD? I am not video editor or digital content creator or any graphic intensive users here.
Any valuable input is welcome. Thank you.🙏🏼
thxxx for this!
I’m coming from a tower Mac Pro 5,1 12 core setup with an RX 580. I ordered an M3 Pro 12 cpu core option with 36 gigs of ram. I think it will be a night and day difference. I’m a blogger/web developer
But why tf a pro start with 8gb? On $1600?
can we connect 3 monitors to M3 Pro ?
great computer :)
Yup!
what rly suxs is that in US it cost $1999 and in Europo 2500Eu and that is = to $2600... apple WTF !!!
Eyy he did the Dave2D nose test haha
10:05 color comp
Can you check whether this macbook heat up when connected to a external monitor?
I’ve been using it this way for weeks and no it does not.
I got the 2023 16gb RAM M3 Pro 16inch 512gb SSD for $2000 plus tax hehehe
Is the 14in, 12 core, 1tb, 36gb ram overkill?
That’s what I’m getting but I’m sticking with the 11-core version. No need to upgrade the processor
9:40 Couldn’t care less
Thanks for your recommendation. As a prosumer I want to get the Pro but I know I’d be just fine with the Air.
Thank you! Appreciate you watching!

nice
ভাই বাংলাদেশী?
Only the M3 max is truly worthy, or buy the m2 pro model
M3 is a beast
Bruh...you aleady know what I'mma say. lol😂
intro is completely incomprehensible. You bought the baseline? with a pro chip? those are mutually exclusive.
He bought the baseline MacBook Pro M3 pro without making the improvements Apple offers (more ram, internal space, etc). Sarcasm is a privilege, handle it with care.
If you have base model M1 Pro ? Would you upgrade from it to m3 pro base model
i think not. btw I also have the m1 pro base
What about a MacBook Air 2017 intel? M3 or m3 pro or m2 pro? My first choice was just to get a base m3 but upgrading the ram but might as well get the base m3 pro plus space black
@@johannmadrid8864 you definitely need an upgrade, go for base m3 pro, reward yourself, and it is for future proofing also.
Face-oil test on a MacBook.
This guys claiming do video every day. Do you really want to help? There’s a deal o Best Buy and I know all of you youtuber tech knows. The shit is buy entry level MacBook Pro 14 with only 8 gb or a MacBook Air 15 with 16 ram 512? Do the damn really Daly we would Ike to know the better purchase!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bought the M3 Pro with 1tb SSD. Coming from a 2015 air with 4GB ram and 128gb ssd is amazing. I’ll never use all the power, but the machine is fantastic.
How long does the battery last?
Ha! I will be replacing my 2015 MacBook Air as well with one of these. I am sure it will be a massive improvement.

Thanks for sharing this! Appreciate your insight.
True, but I would recommend the MacBook Air for casual users which is probably 90% of the population , the base M3 MBP are for the 2% of people who need a Mini-LED display tbh , and then the other 8% should get the M3 Pro/ Max MBP
@Applecore365 yep that’s exactly what I mentioned in this video.
Mine is the 2015 model so anything is an up grade for me I’m sure
What about those who haven’t bought a laptop since 2016 “windows hp”. Would use it to play league of legends 😂 and school work, would the m3 base be sufficient 🤔 or would you rather just get the pro chip and be future proof
The internet is a dumpster fire of negativity for the M3 chips so I wanted to say thanks for the objective viewpoint and great review.
It's not just about if you want the latest and greatest... it's also about whether or not you want some of the new graphical capabilities. ie. ray tracing, etc...
Finally moved on from intel i9. M3 max arrives tomorrow
I bought the M3 pro and compared it to my M1 pro and didn’t see any difference, so I returned the M3 pro, I really wanted the black Mac but color isn’t enough to upgrade.
But isnt it though? haha jkjk you did the right move if you didnt see any diff! Congrats on saving money!
Is the base model m3 pro good for data science and machine learning? Btw I'm a cs udergrad!
Great video. When is your m3 max arriving? Did you go 14 inch with the m3 max or 16inch?
You’re the first one who speaks to those changing from windows and the M3 pro is their first laptop, thank you for the best review ❤️👏
Please help me, I am confused between Legion 9i and M3 Pro Max 36 GB 1TB varaint. I have no problem regarding the price, and both the OS are ok for me.
I use a few VM for ethical hacking apart from these I program and also do video edits.
Please recommend which one will be worth.
Just upgraded from a Mid 2013 MacBook Air, Intel i7, 8GB Ram, 512SSD to a MacBook Pro M3 Pro, 18GB Ram, 1TB SSD.
Much needed upgrade; my plan for the air is to wipe it clean and install windows 10 on it.
