Strong Sad's Lament didn't predict Tumblr, it was a parody of LiveJournal. Way to make me feel absolutely ancient.
I had to login to comment this because it was obviously LiveJournal, but Taco is too young to know LJ. I still get a yearly email to tell me that it's been XX years since I opened my LJ. 20. It's been 20 years.

Homsar's brain injury, of course, starts a SBMail 4, when he is crushed by a large weight. In Marzipan's Answering Machine 5, Homsar leaves a message thanking Marzipan for sending him flowers while he was in the hospital. He states that he is feeling much better, but still can't feel his legs. In Marzipan's Answering Machine 17, Homsar leaves a message stating that he is able to speak coherently over the phone. He expresses frustration, calling his normal mode of speech, "the garbage that I spout." There's probably plenty of other evidence that I don't remember.

Oh you've missed quite a bit with Strong Sad's death. Besides his general association with gloom and doom, being the deathly pallor and all, his singing of "Ghost of John" and his dressing as the reaper himself for Experimental Film, there's also the easter eggs in the sbemail "fingers", which feature a few appearances by Strong Sad's lifeless corpse crammed in various background elements of the imagined sequences.
there's also the fact that strong sad's Old timey equivalent is Sickly Sam, an actual literal ghost.

Huh, you know i am surprised that strongbad being in Poker Night at the inventory isn't on this since that's how I learned about this series. Either way great job on this. Can't wait for more weird crap like this.

I believe sbemail early drafts refers to early drafts of sbemail 136, geddup noise, that were released to the Homestar wiki by TBC in around 2010. The article is called "sbemail 136 alternate versions"
One thing you forgot to mention about Stinkoman 20x6 is that level 10 didn’t release until 15 years later, so people had to wait for a long time until that game would be finished
And it releasing right before Flash was discontinued was entirely intentional. The launch trailer for level 10 advertised that it came out right before the death of Flash.
Add to the iceberg. There is a small recurring joke that despite Coach Z often seen as an old person, he was tried as a minor (Marzipan's Answering Machine 17) and in Playdate he was in juvenile prison.
This was fun, good content my guy.
One of my favorite fun things about HR is that Homesar is more articulate over the phone, and makes sense and has coherent thoughts, and is very aware that when he hangs up he will descend into madness once again

I listened to the Some Things Last A Long Time cover after you brought it up in the video and it got me so close to crying myself.
Strong Sad is, like, the mopey depressing character by choice but it's all comedic. They've never actually shown him really crying. So the very end where his voice wavers and he breaks down punched me straight in the gut
Technically there are two vocalists for They Might Be Giants. They were a duo, that then got a full-time backing band. The other original band member, singer and guitarist is John Flansburgh (hence them being known colloqueally by fans as the Two Johns, with the rest of the band consisting of two Dans and Marty on the drums.)
About the King of Town's Cophrofagy:
The Fan Club sbemail ends with an easter egg where Strong Bad draws a comic of The King Of Town eating an entire pile of whatsit (that's how they call it in-universe) only to the real KoT coming and stating "I wish that were fiction..." implying he really ate poop.
I’m surprised the horrendous Robot Chicken Homestar sketch wasn’t on the list. The one where the whole joke was that a bunch of the characters get gunned down in violent fashion, strong bad gets the chair because he’s Mexican while Homestar gets set free because he’s white, and Homsar makes a reference to Trump
I won’t be able to make it to the premiere because of class, but I saw it early on patreon and I was really surprised how in depth this was! I thought I knew everything about Homestar Runner but some of this stuff I had no idea about!
The piece you're missing from "Mellow Mushroom" is that, it isn't just inspired by TBC: it was literally actually made by them! This was the first instance of them getting hired to do their cartooning work for another company, and it would not be the last.

Also, 31:22: This is likely a reference to a scene from "Virus" where, before the KOT was transported to a glitched version of the Teen Girl Squad universe, the King and Poopsmith was doing something with a scoop of poop (or "whatsit"), and people believe the King was attempting to eat it.
Not sure if someone got this one already, but Coach Z's mental health was mentioned in a Marzipan answering machine message when Coach Z would leave her messages, with one including him saying he didn't know what was real, and what was in his head.
Honestly, I'm just surprised that it took THIS long for a Homestar Runner iceberg video to turn up... but whatever the case may be, this was worth the wait!
With that said though, I'm kinda surprised that Strong Bad's appearance in Poker Night At The Inventory wasn't brought up. That's just a minor nitpick though, and even then I'm not even sure if I can CALL it one! Apart from that, great work!
Their first RUclips channel wasn't actually tdougland - it was SlimChaps, which is no longer active, and is so little known that I've seen many an iceberg miss it out.

What's incredible to me more than anything is how Homestar's DNA is EVERYWHERE now.
Here's a neat one about the Halloween costumes! In the 2008 toon "Most in the Graveyard", Coach Z dresses up as DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba, which Matt Chapman worked on at the time this toon was made!

I think "Wii tutorial in game files" just refers to the sound files for the wii tutorial (from the wiiware version) that were left in the files of the pc version. Great video btw!

It’s astonishing that homestar runner has been such a fundamental pillar of internet culture and knowing what the brothers Chaps would do later with gravity falls it is safe to say that if homestar runner wasn’t a thing then the internet would be vastly different from what it is. I hope that they rerelease strong bads cool game for attractive people on steam after it got pulled.
I grew up with and love Homestar runner and any obscure content related to it. Thank you for this video!

Coach Z isn't homeless, he owns the gym. And sleeps in the locker room. He has bills to pay for it, which he forgets to do. Still, he has all sorts of mental and physical issues, not the least of which is his addiction to listerine, which he drinks regularly.
A lot of incorrect or missing information here:
1. Marshmellow's Last Stand has for many years been available on the site in the Museum section.
2. The Homestar Runner RPG Demo ROM was in fact released. It can be played in an Atari 2600 emulator such as Stella and contains more than just the title screen, although it is very unfinished to the point that I would not call it a playable game exactly, but you can kind of explore it a little.
There were a few things I had no info for during the video, so feel free to reply to this comment if you know anything out the topics that stumped me! Maybe I'll made an ammendment video or sumthin, I dunno
"Cool Grundy" likely refers to an unused sprite of a Grundy wearing large sunglasses found in the game's files. It can be found on the Homestar Runner Wiki on the "Stinkoman 20X6 Trivia" article.
"Homestar's Yearbook" was also the title of the site's old guestbook page where visitors could leave comments around 2002. This is likely what the iceberg was referring to, as the character menu mentioned in the video didn't have this title, and judging by Homestar's autograph in the yearbook, it didn't actually belong to Homestar.

Homsar did acknowledge that he does spout out nonsense in Marizan's Answering Machine 17.2 but still does have the ability to do normal conversations. We don't count Episode 2 of SBCG4AP since that's different from the main core of the series.
I think the "Papa Cardgage's Puddin Patch" one is probably about the theory that Senor Cardgage is a cannibal, as all we here from him at that scene was (to the tone of Frere Jacques) "Where is Tomkins? Where is Coleslaw? Here I am."

The "wii tutorial in game files" refers to how in the files of the PC version of the game it contains audio for the tutorial of the wii version which is slightly different (it talks about using the wii remote instead of a mouse.)
About homeschool winner slight up date as of 2023 he possibly makes a cameo in the new dangeresque roomventure game. there's a sillohette in the arcade which looks a lot like him, though it might just be a generic character.

Thankfully a certain person who claimed he owned HSR has been gone from the internet. Lets just say, they projected themselves onto everyone for over 2 decades, and word has it, they are now doing time for alledged stuff that got them busted to begin with.
They have been off the radar since 2021, and now we can rejoice to enjoy HSR without some old troll commenting on all our stuff.
