O wow! I've been using this grip instinctively for the past... 23 years :D I find this to be really good regardless of the mouse shape. At the moment I am using this with Superlight (Tiger ICE skates) and LGG Saturn (non PRO) - guess I found my sweet spot when it comes to control and micro adjustments without sacrificing 180 movement that much.

There is no best grip, best sensitivity, best mouse etc etc. I've spent 100s if not close to a 1000 on different mice and mousepads and the answer is simple. Whatever YOU feel COMFORTABLE with.
That’s just incorrect. You might feel better with another grip but the best one is the one which allows you the most amount of minimum and maximum movement possible, which is this grip he shows.

If you're comfortable with it that's fine, but you might have problems when aiming with your wrist imo, since the wrist doesn't have contact with the surface
Im really confused by what your referring to when you say knuckle of the pinky are you meaning the knuckles on the outside of the hand or the bit thats on the palm at the bottom of the inside of the hand Are the pads on your palm below before your fingers start called knuckles because if they are thats news to me
I've been using the DAv2 for about 2 years after using the G403. I tried using this grip on the DA and it was painful. I then pulled out the G Pro and it still felt bad. I dug out the G403 and it felt right. Looks like I need to find a mouse with a similar shape to it or better if I want to move away from my current fingertip grip habit and go more claw again.
Im wondering does you pinky push the mouse againts your thumb or your palm ? Or is it the ring finger that is suppose to put pressure againts the thumb ?
depends on sens but I play medium to low sens and for long tracking I use my arm to get crosshair very close to the target and then at the same time using wrist to make those micro adjustments to keep on target. I use pretty much the exact grip in this video and imo its by far the easiest to combine arm and wrist. Desk/chair height and how far away horizontally your elbow is from your body also greatly affect combining arm and wrist aiming.
Usually somewhere around 40cm/360 in most games. Bit higher in higher FOV games, bit lower in lower FOV games. Most of OW2 has been on around 38-45 cm/360.
Do you have issues with the «mark of the gamer» bone (located below the lower palm on the pinky side), gets in the way when pivoting from the wrist? If I grip so the back of the mouse is further away from the palm, the bone is not an issue, and I get way more accurate with wrist, but the grip is much more unstable and unnatural. Any tips for avoiding the bone when doing your claw grip? 😅
I used to way back before I even played FPS games. I think it was mainly from sitting my hand on the edge of the desk and pivoting movements from the one spot. So long as you aren't sitting too low relative to your desk height (puts too much weight into the hand) it shouldn't really be a problem. Do you plant your wrist when using the PC/aiming?
@@StruthGaming Well I feel like I need to put some pressure on my wrist when pivoting from it, especially when playing mccree, but I don't hard plant so I can't move my arm or anything. But when I claw and push the mouse (DA or G pro wireless) securely into the palm, the bone feels more noticeable, and less area of my palm is in contact with the pad, which I think is bad. Thinking maybe I should try the g303 again, seeing as it has a thinner back, leaving more palm in contact with pad, while still getting the "tail" of the mouse secured in palm. On the other hand, I tried your claw grip the other day in Apex, and the tracking with automatic guns is crazy. But I can't hit those sniper shots and similar, especially in OW, so I'm trying to find a middle ground. Do you do coaching, or have a discord or anything?
The goal is the arm or wrist is not going to be fatigued in longtime playing games. If your chair is too high, just simply rest your palm instead of arm for control heavy body part fatigue and stress the hand. For keyboard, it's abit different It. is just my suggestion, there is no actual and perfect answer to this question👀
The thumb, pink and perhaps the ring finger knuckles will touch the mouse. If your hands are small and the mouse is big even your pointer and middle finger knuckles may touch as well. The most important knuckles are the pinky and thumb, the rest are just incidental.

What do you think about mouse weight? Is lighter really better? And I’ve tried so many mice and honestly I’d need a few tweaks on all of them to make them perfect, albeit for separate reasons. How do you choose a mouse to stick with?
Lighter is better imo, but anything under 80g these days should be fine. I've tried many mice and have currently landed on the G303 SE being the best fit for me so far. I'm primarily looking for a mouse that I can grip most naturally, as if I were gripping a ball in my hand, I cover a lot of that in my review here actually ruclips.net/video/DeyW_ZXDpL8/видео.html. Modern ambidextrous mice tend to have mostly straight sides which make me have to squeeze my pinky in. Even if I fix that with mods, the straight sides and low height are still annoying to grip for my larger hands and aim style.
My hands are 20.5x10.5 so fairly similar. My only issue with the size is it being too narrow right at the back which I why I use some double sided tape to help pad out the width.

I have relatively large hands at 20.5x10.5 and have trouble getting my thumb knuckle involved on smaller mice, and have even added some double sided tape to my G303 SE to make it easier. Is that the sort of problem you're running into?
@@StruthGaming 1- I have a EC2A. 2- Yes. The solution I found was to play with a "finger grip". I rest the outside bone of my wrist on the mousepad and grip the mouse with fingertips only, with the fingers extended and relaxed, while half of my pinky if touching the mouse, almost paralel to the table. The finger positions are similar to m0NESY's, but my hand never touches the mouse.
To be fair i don't think there is optimal grip and if a person have trained for long time, like 6 months + or so, he should sticks to his guns, unless he doesn't see any improvements(but the reason for lack of improvements could be thousands). To be fair i just can't force myself to have such a grip. I just prefer to have a free space where you "the base of your thumb". I don't feel great when that area is touching my mouse. I also prefer the palm to be on the pad, not on the mouse at all. I feel a lot more freedom that way. And while trying to grip the way you show, it's feel more stable/more control i just couldn't aim for my life in either Apex or Quake for whatever reason.
Your grip severely limits the potential range of finger movement in comparison to a fingertip grip. Your argument also failed to address two things: 1. How your grip gives significantly more control with arm aiming 2. Why we should care as much about gross arm movement vs. fine micro-correction and tuning, which fingertip excels at
The Razer Viper shape could work for medium to smaller hands, i'm not a huge fan of the shape overall though. The DA V3 (and i'm guessing the previous version) can still work too, but it's not deal. It was designed with palm grip in mind.
@@StruthGaming Hey, thanks for the answer. The problem is i live in Bulgaria, and there is literally no shop where i can go and check the new mouses. They are all in the boxes and not allowed to test them, which is s****. I'm currently using DA V2 PRO, but i struggle with the grip. I'm using a similar grip to the one you show in this and your previous video, in the Kovaaks channel for optimal mouse grip. Just the ring and pinky(little) one position are a bit different, more of a straight one. In order to adjust properly and to feel great control with DA V2 PRO i need like an hour to play Apex in order to get the right grip. This is super super strange, and hell i blame the mouse shape for it. :D I have Basilisk V2, but the wired version, and i'm now use to wireless, but with the Basilisk i feel the mouse a lot better and don't need an hour to adjust to the grip. My hands are on the big side, around 20, to 21 cm. I prefer Razer mouse, cause they are with optical switches, and i have a lot of problem with the double clicking with Logitech Mechanical switches. I was thinking of Viper V2 PRO, but not sure if it would fit my big hands. Maybe i should go for DA V3 Pro and just hope the new shape will fit my hand better. BTW do you coaching on Aiming/Movement aspect in certain games ?

Well I felt the same, required a sensitivity change and a break in period but so did fingertip grip when I used that for a few months.
MY HAND IS TOO BIG
MINES TOO SMALL
Your grip severely limits the potential range of finger movement in comparison to a fingertip grip. Your argument also failed to address two things:
1. How your grip gives significantly more control with arm aiming
2. Why we should care as much about gross arm movement vs. fine micro-correction and tuning, which fingertip excels at
pls for the love of god do not take this man at his word. he's maining a g303 and some shitter glorious mouse 😩
Care to explain why the G303 SE is such a bad choice? I have a box full of modern mice and it happens to perform the best.

What razer mouse would be good for similar type of grip to this and for larger hands???

@@undertaker59 i'm with DA V2 PRO, and to be fair, not feeling the mouse great for this grip.
I have Basilisk V2, but the wired version, and i'm now use to wireless, but with the Basilisk i feel the mouse a lot better and don't need an hour to adjust to the grip.
