I've found that using this technique paired with a slower than normal sensitivity leads to some pretty consistent controlled aim ability. I play CSGO so being able to be consistently preaim when peeking/clearing angles is very important but so is being able to flick fast if you're caught out or need to dodge a flash. This technique lets you do both easily
I do the same thing playing valorant and found that lowering sens a little helps with my control. That said I dont think raising the mouse helps at all and its better to have a good control on the mouse and a slippery surface
You can also increase your sens if you are able to grip the mouse harder. This will fatigue your fingers faster though. There are some people using insanely tight grips that are able to use very high sensitivities.
I just realised that im already using this grip so well and already mastered on it for years without even noticed that this is a really good technique and just learned now
im usually really good at all the battlefield's except for bfv.. i tend to struggle with this game because of ongoing latency issues that i cant seem to ever figure out (tried everything) and also one frame deaths. i had a similar grip to this but not too extreme like how you showed us in this video.. so my fingers have always been in this position but always hovering above my hard mouse bad with my fingers slightly touching . i gave this a try and in my first game i was so damn accurate that i had 45 kills in bfv in one round lol.. i have NEVER had that many kills in this game so im so stoked to try this technique again.. i would usually be satisfied with 24 kills which i seldom get with this game. thanks so much bro..
LOL Thank you for reminding me to cut my fingernails; I was getting frustrated because my wingman shots/flicks weren't hitting my target as well as they should, even my tracking seems off ... u a legend!
Everything you said in this video is what I did when I reached global elite in csgo 5 years back. The reason I developed a similar technique is because it allowed me to transition from arm movement to finger movement smoothly without "skipping pixels" when making the transition. For example, if I know an enemy is behind me, I can make a 180 degree turn, use my wrist and thumbs to "almost stop", and use my fingers to make the final adjustment for the headshot. The key here is to keep your shoulder, wrist and fingertips "active" at all times. I also sometimes add more of the thumb if I need more stopping power.
I can attest to this, I figured this out on my own. It makes tracking a bit stuttery but your flick speed and long distance accuracy will be insane. But like you said, if you stop digging in so much it will allow you to glide better. And your mousepad will make a huge difference with this. Using a very silky mousepad makes it harder to dig in and you will still be able to track really well.
As a wrist player with medium sens ive been doing this by accident without thinking, when u need to 360 and u gotta lift your mouse super fast after a 180 for example, I kept lifting it a bit by accident when I needed to flick a lot or turn really fast. And as someone who for example will hold his breath or press keys harder in high tense situations, pushing my mouse down was just a thing my body did naturally when I had to track. People were actually surprised how good my aim was back in the day with a medium/high sense, I didn't understand it either, but now it makes sense hahah
Oh I am using this grip for a long time. But mine is mixed and situatuional. I use side fingers to actualy move mouse itself most of the time. It's a whole group of muscles capable of pixel perfect micro flics and also it's uses anatomy to compensate the camera's movement distorsions in the game. The curve of the path you move your mouse substracts the disctortions and you can easily move your crosshair in parralel to the ground. And since you actively using your side fingers you always have your hand and shoulders muscles free for unexpected enemies.
Dude :D Im testing mice and gripstyles since many years... After seeing this video i can tell i ranked them unconsciously by how well i can apply this technique.. thank you good sir :D
i just realize it now.. if i’m in my flow state while gaming my mouse grip is always exaaaactly like that. now i know why i achieved such a cracked aim in 1 year of switching from controller to mouse and keyboard
Do you have an easier time doing this with the g303 (or other specific mice) than other mice? Compared to most other mice, it's transition from side to bottom seem to have a bigger area to put your fingers on. I've dabbled with this technique in my experimentations, and what ends up happening is that I naturally want to lift it higher and higher, because I want a firmer grip for my fingers. So at some point the mouse stops tracking, even though its not that high lifted. This even happens with mice that has higher lod. AND the reason I want to lift it higher, is because if you lift it high enough the mouse sits even more snuggly in your palm also, resulting in more control (imo). Your thoughts on this maybe being easier on the g303 (or other specific) because of shape?
This technique makes some really sus stuff kinda work. I used to main the g502 using this specific technique (mind you i didn't realize i was doing it back then) on, i shit you not, 9cm/360! Yes, that's a stupid sens- yes my desk was tiny and yes the g502 is too much of a brick to play on anything but high sens. This technique makes heavy mice bearable and stupid high sens' playable so long as you can get a comfortable grip (not good, just playable lol).
had a palm grip mouse for most of my gaming years. it had a thumb rest so i could only break with my pinky. this resulted in me flicking to the right very precisely and when flicking left i had to overshoot and then come back to break. it was quick but not optimal. made me play right-side angles more
I do this as well when ADS usually but I also plant my pinky down sometimes and it works as a stabilizer as well but being able to switch between Touching and Not touching the mouse pad
Always been using my thumb ring and pinky as a brake, never found any advantage with other grips, so ive been using it for the past 15 years, Imo its also much easier to adjust to a new sens aswell with this grip
I naturally learned how to do this. Only been playing pc/m&k for about about 3 weeks on valorant and I’m already plat 1. I find this technique, along with applying more downward force onto the mouse, when running a low sense, very useful. I usually lean the mouse onto one edge and use my thumb as the brake. This allows me to quickly drop the mouse back down if need be.
Haha, I do this a lot in range and the technique of aiming or dragging with your finger can be really helpful for precise and accurate aim and if you are playing on a high sens, even better!

I have the same mouse you use in the video, but I don't understand how I have to give pressure, in the video you say to push down, but basically when I use the thumb (the same as you hold it) I just press it to the right for more pressure and control , not down, or do you mean the fact that the thumb must be like in the photo and the pressure move it to the right? moreover ... I find myself in everything you say, but in games like valorant, in which you have to perform a lot of micro corrections, you would recommend to always adapt pressure, or as you say even closely you should give less to make it easier? ... as one guy already asked, is it better to make a flick while applying pressure anyway? I always refer to a game as valorant, as in tracking like apex it is automatic based on the distance, but valorant or cs have different recoil dynamics . moreover, I looked at the old video of the optimal grip, I can't understand how to do it, the little finger I tend to put it very "curly", and I feel that the micro corrections I can only feel with the thumb, is it normal? would you have any suggestions on how to get him to use his little finger later on as seen in the old video? or in your opinion it can go well with g303 shrould edition mouse
You can mix that in with normal techniques, you don't have to rest the mouse on your fingertips at all times. And you will get less fatigued. It's just normal logic tbh.
I think it's unclear to people that its not just about having your thumb and pinky finger on the mousepad to brake. It's also about having the mouse hover like shown on 1:10
so whenever you do try to be precise and hit the mid to longer range shot you’re essentially slightly lifting the mouse off the mousepad?(naturally by griping the mouse tighter)
Tried it on CSGO and valorant on a hardpad. even when lowering my sens from 48 to 69 cm/360 my aim was still shaky haha, but I got used to it after ~30 minutes, using an Orochi V2 really helps with this technique because of the sensor being on the front, so I actually lift it from the back, having the front skates lightly touching the pad, feels fantastic. (Also tried it on quake live at 30 cm/360... DAMN it feels so good, tracking and flicking are precise, and because my fingertips are in contact with the pad, I can do an almost instant 180° turn haha)
This is usually how I play fps games. But sometimes have the issue where my pinky drags. Sometimes it helps for precision. But sometimes it can trip you up
I’m just learning mouse and keyboard, but I do this just naturally because my mouse is too small for my hand. So maybe it is better to use a slightly smaller mouse for your hand size.
Alternative options -Lower sensitivity (#1 issue most new people have. Higher requires more precision while lower requires more effort for flick) -Get a mouse pad with more control -Get mouse feet with more control -Fingertip grip for maximum micro adjustment (not recommended) -Maybe try mouse acceleration (not recommended) -Adjust mouse weight (lighter mice have less momentum but are easier to over flick initially) -Get a mouse with a different shape (you might have a bad shape for your grip style causing you to over flick on one side) -Practice your flicks rather than relying on a new technique (master 1 style rather than 1000 different ones) Overall it’s good to experiment, but smaller adjustments are recommended before larger ones. Also flicking is the most overrated technique. Game sense, crosshairs placement, movement, and positioning are way more important in 90% of fps games.

Ron “ Rambo” Kim has a vid on it. Also from my preference I have my gaming chair just slightly under my desk so that the arm wrests slightly scrape on the bottom of the desk. However this is my preference as I use my whole arm to aim
Do you mean in addition to the one we did earlier? ruclips.net/video/RyhzcJTqxs4/видео.html Here's a quick tip for getting the right chair height (so long as your desk isn't too high). Set your chair to the lowest setting and swipe your mouse around. Take notice of the sensation that comes with raising your shoulder to aim in this position. Next, set your chair to the highest setting and swipe your mouse around, making sure your forearm is still on the desk. Take notice of the sensation that comes with lowering your shoulder to aim in this position. Very slightly lower your chair incrementally from here until you can swipe your mouse around without feeling like you have to hold up or push down your shoulder. If you didn't feel like you needed to lower your shoulder on the highest seat setting then this is your best position for your current setup. You could likely benefit from a higher chair or lower desk. Hope that helps!
❤ just subbed I’m going to try this I’m having issues with the mouse I have the keyboard down .. I keep loosing battles cause my aim is all over the place nice video about to work on this
An extra tip for this grip is; Attempting to use a mouse that must be shorter *than your hand* in my case is not a good fit for this grip because my mouse is too big for it and does not offer; either a comfortable feel or a firm long-term grip. (I didn't pay much attention. I don't remember if the guy from the video mentioned it)
I can't believe how accurately this represents my grip, I've been using it ever since I started playing FPS games and have been laughed on because of ignorance. Thanks for pointing out why it is so good and effective !
hop into aim trainers with your new style to break the habit. I was in the same position mostly cause I played RTS and could never for the life of me get used to FPS but only realized 1 grip doesn't really help for all genres of games. RTS is more fingertip heavy, FPS is more wrist and arm heavy. A lot of people fail to realize this and is the reason they cant xfer to other games. Shroud has this problem when he has to play any game that requires a lot of mobility like apex legends or fortnite. He's so used to only using left and right strafes because nobody ever goes up and down in CSGO. He says these games are hard but they really aren't, i think he lacks the IQ to realize this on his own but I'm sure if someone told him that was his flaw he would be at the top of the game.
Gliding fingers, instead of mouse feets, on the mousepad is a terrible idea. Your fingers skin wetness can change which will also change the friction, hence stopping power will be different
I've been holding my mouse like this since 1998. I thought it was a handicap because my hands are really large and force me to hold my mouse this way, but it never stopped me from destroying everyone
Might not see this, old video. But if ive gotten in the habit on most games and hand positioning ( i main the Logitech g203) having my thumb on the side mouse button in a claw hybrid grip qll the time, due to my hold to crouch keybind being side mouse button, would that hinder my performance at all? It feels natural now and unsure if i need to make a change. Thanks for the video

@@TheMeta thank you for this detailed answer ill try in the evening!
oh ive already been doing this unintentionally
you can also change the monitor coefficient because I changed fas in the game
What mouse pad do you recommend?
speed if u play tracking intense games, control if u play flick intense games or hybrid if u play both
❤ just subbed I’m going to try this I’m having issues with the mouse I have the keyboard down .. I keep loosing battles cause my aim is all over the place nice video about to work on this
So the your mouse isnt even touching the mousepad with this grip wth?
So if I get good at this does that mean that a fast mousepad would be better?
personal preference
WHO ARE U
UR THE BEST PLAYER OMG 3OIWOWOWOWOWOWWOWOWOWOWOW TEACH ME EVERYTHING U KNOW
NOWWWWW!!!!
This grip works perfect for me since I have bigger hands and a Corsair M65 Elite.
Didn't know my natural grip was a good choice. The side of my deathadders all have a thumb groove.
So those Aftermarket glass skates on the mouse are useless now ?
Will this work on a mousepad such as the Steelseries one with high stopping power? I’m worried that it might be hard to track with this mousepad.
2:34This looks inhumane😵💫
Used this for Years and always thought it was wrong ..lol
An extra tip for this grip is; Attempting to use a mouse that must be shorter *than your hand* in my case is not a good fit for this grip because my mouse is too big for it and does not offer; either a comfortable feel or a firm long-term grip.
(I didn't pay much attention. I don't remember if the guy from the video mentioned it)
I have a literal mouse like, its a baby mouse, lenovo m20, gonna try this with that one
Hey, are you planning to release a built in sensitivity randomizer to kovaaks?
how can i use this grip with logitech superlighT?
i dont think you can it has a very low lod
I can't believe how accurately this represents my grip, I've been using it ever since I started playing FPS games and have been laughed on because of ignorance. Thanks for pointing out why it is so good and effective !
how do you unlearn years of using a different grip? Really struggling to change my style without reverting back to my old grip.
hop into aim trainers with your new style to break the habit.
I tried this and got cheeto dust all over my mousepad
So we don't have to worry about mouse skates anymore???
Isn't that a prime way to friction burn your fingers? :D
nice content
what's your hand size?
Should we be using a hard mousepad for more grip with fingertip skin or a cloth mousepad for less grip? Is this even something to consider lol
For glass pads it's probably no good, but other hard pad surfaces should be fine. Works best on cloth pads.
Hey, should my grip be tight or gentle?
Gliding fingers, instead of mouse feets, on the mousepad is a terrible idea.
Your fingers skin wetness can change which will also change the friction, hence stopping power will be different
So apply more pressure down when flicking target switching? And when tracking don't do this
2:15 what game did you play in this moment?
Call of Duty : Vanguard
You don't know call of duty vanguard?? It's one of the games of all time
damn, i already used this, i was thinking i'm kreizy gami'n or something
This works great on deathadder, been doing it for like 10 years, I just feel inconsistent, but maybe that's just me
I really wish we could change LOD in Logitech mice, because mine cuts out at the slightest tilt off the mousepad, making this impossible for me
Seems irritating on the fingers, rubbing them against the surface constantly, no?
my great great grandfather used to teach me this technique nothing new.
@kovaaks so what grip u use in apex?
Great content 👌🏻subbed
I've been holding my mouse like this since 1998. I thought it was a handicap because my hands are really large and force me to hold my mouse this way, but it never stopped me from destroying everyone
I also been doing this the day I came out womb
My technique is very similar but maybe because I'm a guitarist, I don't really use my ring finger like that. My thumb and the pinky get the job done
This will make your flick slower for sure
I do this sometimes and didn’t even know it 😮
Might not see this, old video.
I never knew this I just started with M&K 2018
can you please recommend me a good mousepad for my logitech G pro mouse?
