I had a problem with my Mk2. It was cutting fine and all of a sudden it stop cutting and was just marking the wood. That was about the 5th time I used it since getting it. First thing I checked was the lens. The lens cover was actually clean but the focus lens had a haze over it. I got in touch with Roly and we determined I had a faulty focus lens. They sent me a new module and I sent the old one back. I haven't had a problem with the new module. I can't say enough about how good their customer service is compared to other companies. Thanks for the videos. Looking forward to more.
you got it buddy! Love your roly videos! and also for other lasers videos! Keep it up! you are on the right path!
Thank you for your videos on the Roly. I would really like to see a 20w and 30w engraving comparison in 10w modes. Some small text would be interesting. I am about to order mine now, but I have not decided on bying the 20w or the 30w module.
Well, I can't do the 20w as I don't have one. I am guessing you have already watched my 10/30w comparison. I also did it on my leather video the other day.
I have your leather video in my watch later list, I will check it out. Thanks!@@ValleyForged
Def also want to take off the top side where the fan is, and clean all that out as well. The fan collects a lot of dust and you also want to clean off the fins on the heatsink on both sides, lens side and fan side, and as much as you can inside. If you don’t, the heat sink won’t work as good and you’ll overheat your laser module. Happened to me.
I use an electric "canned air", some use a compressor. I just use something to keep the fan from moving. Also, I do it every other time I clean the lens. I feel removing the top screws is not necessary for me. But I get what you mean.
Side-comment: If you happen to have a boom-style microphone stand, you can get all sorts of camera and phone mounts and general-purpose tripod adaptors that will bolt in place of a mic clip. Very useful for positioning small cameras and phones at hands-free, odd angles.
I actually have all that stuff. I just made this video kind of on the fly ;)
I'm sorry..I'm new to the diode laser business..are these lines on the lens normal then? I was worried about seeing them in my lens
Your lens should be clear. Look at a new one and see the difference. Mine came with an extra. If not, you can order more from Roly (I just did that as well).
