Hey thanks for the video sir! Something that Rich missed that I run into each time I clean my RM2 is the laser module has a difficult screw to remove. The lower right screw is in line with the air assist tube (in my opinion poor design) and for me is tricky to get off and on. I use a ball end allen and it makes things a bit easier. Also Rich oh my gosh your laser module was so clean before you started, I am so envious. I almost exclusively burn 3mm baltic birch and after 1 run my fan and deep inside the laser module is filthy. I think addressing that portion of the clean is really important. I know I used compressed air (shop air) and block off the fan from spinning. Blocking the fan is super important as the shop air can spin the fan faster than most likely designed and potentially cause damage. Also if you have wet shop air you might want to hold off as you will be blowing that wet air onto the electronics. I would have to check and see if Roly conformally coated to know how they would handle the water. But I digress either way wet air is to be avoided. I love the dielectric grease idea I will have to give it a try. I used 3&1 light machine oil but don’t like it as it collects the obvious dust that is produced during use. Thanks again for the videos, tips, and tricks Rich!
Glad it helped! I use the ball tip Allen wrench that came with the laser to remove the screw. If you hold it straight out going in from a slight angle, it plugs in well enough to turn it off with no problems. You can also use the breaker side of the Allen wrench to get it started. Thanks for watching!
Hello Sir. thank you so much for this long time awaited video. I'm sure everyone who is in laser hobby will benefit from it. Appreciate and thank you greatly.
Hey Rich. I noticed, on my LaserMatic MK2, that a fair amount of soot collects on the circuit board that's in the back of the laser module. Does that need to be cleaned periodically ? And if so, how ?
Thanks, Rich. Good demonstration and the explanations for why and how often to clean were very much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Rich, maintenance is often overlooked and you explained how and frequency of when it should be done.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Hey Rich, I'll be doing this soon to my Lasermatic 20. It's been a month since I got it. I ordered the grease from your link. Greg
Awesome! 👍 Thanks Greg!

I just leave that tricky screw off. Have not had any issues.

So nice of you, thanks!
Thanks for the video. Concise and informative.
You're welcome Larry!
Thank you for this information and demonstration.
You bet!
I need a song made for my username 🤣 Clean, clean, clean!!!! So much invested makes an hour here and there worth it!
I change my underwear every day Mike! 🤪
Nice overview Rich.
Thanks Rob!

I just hold the fan in place and insert a paint brush to clean it. No need to worry about the circuit board.
Electric shaver brushes would help
Great idea!
Great laser. But needs a better way to mount for ease of remove
I think they're doing quite well with the design, being so young, and taking the top spot in the market (quality wise).
Can you make a video of how to square the laser frame? I would be so thankful if you did
These machines are square by their nature Alex. I've not seen or heard of one not being square.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Okei, my engravings are coming out as "double" might that be a calibrating of axis problem?
I can't answer that in a RUclips comment Alex. Try posting on my free forums. lahobbyguy.com/bb
I just noticed... is it time to lubricate for machine?
