the instant I started to listen to this guy I loved him, clear concise explanations without convoluted phrases to sound technical.
Jesse, we have to lower
Lowering springs seem like they'd be the perfect fit for your vehicle, although if you can afford it, coilovers will give you lots of adjustability so you can find the perfect ride height. Thanks for watching!
Racing Dynamics RGR. Long discontinued, but still one of our favorites!
We've seen it done more than a few times. It works fine as long as you use the proper spring rate and have enough travel left in your struts.
I had Koni yellow shocks w/ ground control and eibach springs on my Honda S2000. The set up was great. Very good handling and the ride was nice for my liking.
Finally a good source for tuning. Really nice video, you are helping me a lot understanding diferent aspects of my car. I will keep watching all of your videos.
It certainly could shorten the life of your factory struts. We always suggest going with performance shocks unless the springs you have are specifically made with the factory struts in mind. Thanks for watching!
If you don't mind a little cutting and welding, the XYZ coilovers for your car are a good deal and perform well. KSport is also a popular choice. As far as converting your factory struts, yes you can convert the front, but the rear would require some further modifications and chassis reinforcements in order to turn them into adjustable coilovers. Setups like the KSport, KW, and others use an adjustable height rear spring mount with an adjustable outboard-mounted shock.
Thanks this helped a lot!! I've got two 325i e36 bimmers that one I'm rallying and making track ready and the other I'm just trying to lower and throw some rims on, any tips on either type of suspension?
thumbs up on featuring Tein products and HUGE kudos to the host for actually pronouncing their name correctly!
It's worth mentioning that some coilover kits allow for independent damping and compression adjustment for even more fine tuning on the track.
currently on Tokico blue struts and Skunk2 springs ... I love it ... don't have the adjustability as I would in a coilover ... but I don't really need to adjust it ... worked for me ... spent around 650 for the set up ...
great explanation really appreciate
Thanks for the video - It explained a lot, and made it easy to understand for a newbie like me.
can you do a video explaining how to get a luxury car ride.... for those who want to achieve the best in street car rides.
It's not absolutely necessary, but for the best ride and performance we highly suggest it. Thanks for watching!
The Tein S.Tech springs will lower your car approximately 2 inches up front and 1.2 inches out back. That should give you a nice look without being lowered too much for a daily driver. Thanks for watching Maurkss!
Are D2 coilovers good ? not sure which coilovers I should get for my 09 tsx
Technically, if you're replacing the part that's knocking with something that comes in the coilover kit, then yes. However, if it's something like your top hats that are making noise and your new coilovers don't happen to come with new ones, then no. Best to find out what the problem is and go from there. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the info Walter White!
We're still updating the site on some of the 2012 models, so your best bet would be to call our sales line at 1 (800) 419-1152 to find out which coilovers and springs we have for your new car. Thanks!
Dude thanks this really good info !!!
Answered all the questions I had!!! Thanks.
Since your car uses upper and lower control arms instead of struts, there isn't really a bolt-in coilover for your car aside from a Ridetech Shockwave. You might check to see exactly where the control arms are hitting since it sounds like your stock bumpstops may have just deteriorated and new set might just solve the problem for a lot less money.
I'm an owner of 97 dodge avenger and I am trying to lower my car. I know that I can use part from 2g Mitsubishi Eclipse, talons, and sebring coupes. I am wondering what would be the best option to go with to lower my car and improve my driving handling.

Awesome video, really dialed into the questions I had in lowering springs vs coilovers. For my 2006 Audi A4 Quattro I’m leaning towards coilovers that include the camber plates and adjustability without compromising the load on the spring. Have some recommendations? Thanks in advance!!

if i like the ride height of the springs and don't need the adjustability of the coilover, is it more efficient to buy Springs or coilovers. What is more cost efficient in the long run?
There is nothing wrong with buying some good lowering springs for your car.
As said, for a fixed ride height drop they are a great option when combined with some quality shock absorbers.
i would like use your products but unfortunetly you don't have my car on your list , could you still help me , my car skoda octavia 1.9tdi elegance 2003

Most coil over systems I have seen only allow very minor increased ride height...usually less than one inch.
Does the coilover sleeves only adjust ride height? Or does it also improve the handling? Thanks!
I have a 2000 Civic SI. I was gonna go with lowering springs but I much rather be able to adjust the height of my car rather than permanently lower it. So now I'm stuck in between the sleeves or full coilovers. I daily drive my car and hardly race it if at all, so which one is better for a daily driver?
