Spider-Man - in to the Spider-Verse animated movie which was successful in it's own way and win awards this is a great Transformers movie.
It's funny they're calling it a flop when it's just the first weekend. I meant to see last weekend but life took over but I'm planning to see it this coming weekend...some people have no patience...
The ONLY reason people didn’t show up was the initial trailer. Us true Transformers G1 fans thought they made our beloved Transformers into a kiddie show. So most of us rejected it on the spot. After seeing Tyrone’s review I had to go see it, twice!! This movie is NOT what that first trailer led us to believe. This movie is incredible. I’ve been waiting 40 years for this. It was almost perfect.

Transformers g1 fan here, I wasn't impressed by the trailers at first. However, as a true fan, I went and supported the movie. My daughters (10 & 6) and my son (9) loved it. I was impressed and happy with the movie, I'm definitely gonna see it again!
Hasbro has a Transformers toy line for every TF series and movie. Hasbros TF line has a huuuuge toyline..........HUGE.
OK, so let’s get into this.… Firstly, I just want to say transformers one is one of the best movies I have seen all year. I have watched it four times and in those four times I can safely tell you that the film is a solid watch it is a great transformers movie for those who do not believe me. I was hesitant myself on the art style, but I promise you after watching it on the big screen it truly grows on you Orion Pax is one of the most character Flushed, I have ever seen to hit the big screen in a long time and I would be willing to say that this is the transformers of spider verse for these movies at first when I heard that I said there’s no way that this could be that good after watching it the second time no scratch that the third time I understood what people were saying call me crazy but this is one of the best movies of this decade and it needs to be studied. Be studied.. for those who didn’t support this style. I’m actually disgusted because as a transformers fan and as a fan of film and cinematography, you should’ve supported this movie even if the IP didn’t give you exactly what you wanted. It’s still in the end of the day gave you something truly worth waiting for and they rushed it really quickly to get it fully flushed out for us and what under two years I’d say that’s very impressive for the caliber and the amazing storytelling and the amazing characters and the development of each character, the designs of the characters and more to provide on the big screen. We should all be ashamed of ourselves because this deserves Oscar awards deserves honestly a Grammy for the soundtrack because I think the soundtrack is genuinely that good I have to say I hope people can stop disrespecting movies just because it’s not what they want. Give things a try for a change. We’re in a world where nothing is ever anyone’s cuppa tea nowadays and I think it’s best we start trying new things.
"Girl boss" at least in today's era, is a self relied woman that can only rely on herself that doesn't need any help from anyone. This is usually tagged along at the expense of emasculating male characters.
I don't think it's bad in portraying a female being a self-reliable character, but because over the years that portrayal has been formed into something else where they don't have some flaw that people can relate to, along with how frequent it gets bombarded in media, people haven't been enjoying it.
There is a toy line for the movie, I got the Transformers One Optimus Prime figure a few days before I took my son to the movie.
They just need to release the movie to multiple platforms instead of just the movies. The Alien Romulus movie for example, I wanted to watch it but because I have car, I can't juist go to the movies whenever I want.
I agree the release timeli e was suspect. To release at the beginning of Sept during the beginning weeks of school was a big mistake.
It had terrible marketing. I took my kids to see it - I didn't like it as much as most, but I hope it is a success as they used good storytelling and left potential for the movie series to go on.
I watched the trailers and honestly it looked bad.. it wasn't the animation that bothered me but the humour.. it was so cringeworthy.. at least to me.. as a 47 year old male i don't get influenced by youtubers.. i have been a HUGE fan of transformers since i was a child getting my parents buy me them in 1984 and its only because of this i watched it anyway ... despite my opinions on the horrible trailers.. i was so surprised at how good it actually was.. but my point is i am certain the trailers put a lot of people (over a certain age) off... any less of a fan of transformers would probably have given it a miss...

Nothing. Idiots will say it's because a female character actually had strength and character. They would have said that Arcee was woke in the 86 movie. It's ridiculous. Woke is an absolutely meaningless term.

I don’t care about the money numbers, this was an amazing movie and these companies that make movies won’t ever not have money, if they wish to make a sequel they can do it.

There are a lot of toys that came out in my area associated with TFONE but I get what you're talking about with the toys because they came out too late.

I thought the movie was solid. Now truthfully I had low expectations and didn't plan to watch it because yes.....I also didn't find the trailers appealing. But when the reviews began to come up and most were positive from reviewers I trust. So I went to see it and it was a great classic "family" movie. In other words it's the type of movie a family can enjoy both kids and adults.
So hopefully word of mouth gets more people to see it. And it'll turn out being successful.
I will say about the infamous fear about "wokeness" in Hollywood productions. Yes, nearly every movie, TV show etc...injects some kind of "woke" message. Including this movie. But when it's sprinkled in and is not a major focus and you have a good story the movie can still be good. But if it begins to distract from the story or seems so meaningless and unnecessary it can derail an otherwise decent movie. Especially considering some of the messaging can be divisive by nature.
Luckily it wasn't the case for Transformers One.
BTW Furiosa was good as well. And I think that was one that people were concerned would be WOKE. Girl boss are these female leads or female characters that are basically perfect or flawless. They can basically do no wrong and will always be better than everyone else....sometimes in nonsensical ways. One of the critiques of Rey in the sequel Star Wars trilogy is shes a girl boss. In the end Furiosa doesn't come off as a girl boss character. You see her struggle and evolve not just be this flawless female lead. Does the movie have some wokeness...of course but again it doesn't detract from the general story. So it was a good movie.
