- In this video, I review the Netflix movie "The Deliverance," directed by Lee Daniels, sharing a critical perspective on the film. Let's discuss the story's shortcomings and departure from real-life events, rating it 3 out of 10. Let's focus on the performance of Glenn Close, exploring her portrayal of the character Alberta, and addressing the complexities of race and representation in acting.
I thought the writing and story were weak. However, glenn close stole every scene she was in. She always gives her best in any role she's in ❤
I heard everything you said and I agree. I thought Lee Daniels’ choice with Glenn Close was a creative and brilliant decision. Her chemistry with Andra Day was wonderful. They really felt like mother and daughter. I saw Mr. Daniels in an interview and he said that the story was based of truth but it was his interpretation and let’s face it, a movies first agenda is to entertain. I’m Latina and sometimes we’re our worst enemy. We get angry if we are portrayed like a cliche and if we’re portrayed as intelligent, articulate and dressed well we’re not Latin enough. The truth is both exist. I actually knew an Irish girl whose two best friends were African American and most of her crew, she was “Alberta.”
Wel said and I agree.
*As soon as you said you were from* 5-1-3 , and the subject was knowing white folks who act black. I thought of Gary Owens. His comedy show sold out in Milwaukee where I'm from. And he just talks like a white dude who grew up around us constantly.
Glenn was the Leader of the Nova Corp. Or maybe it was the planet in GotG.
You need to really watch some of Sam's earlier movies. Or later ones
Black Snake Moan; Jungle Fever; Coach Carter; etc..
When I looked at her networth I was like...how the hell did they talk her into THIS 😂
she is getting much older. if you want to continue to act? you have to take what's available.
Oh wow, I ain't know you live in cincy. I'm from there lol that's wassup
