Avatar legit has the perfect power system, it's also got reasonable limitations on the powers like the eclipse that makes firebenders lose their powers and stuff
If you have watched jojo bizarre adventure I think an underseen powrr system is hamon. The power itself is terrible, but the story and fights could have been more intriguing if they expanded on the appliances of the ability. Some for instance could be: •Enhanced superhuman feats (strength, speed, agility, etc) •Heat conduction (pyrokinesis, electrokinesis, and extreme heat tolerance are to be included) . Molecular arrangement (e.g, supercharging water with kinetic energy to be impactful as fists or making a piece of paper sharp as a knife temporarily) . Aerokinesis ( by channelling the electromagnetic force outputted by the sun into kinetic energy, which can create wind blasts when projected into the air) • Precognition (an invidual can predict patterns in martial artists/ fighters alike, so they try to counter it like taskmaster. Maybe this could be used to foresee traumatic events such as a character's death) In a very broad environment, the characters may find ways to win in the most wacky ways. Like projecting wind gales into a pipe to injure your opponent or to shove dust in their eyes to allow you to pull a cunning trick. Honestly, there is so much wasted potential. Lantern corp rings from dc are a favourite power system of mine
You have really been a big help to me when it comes to my writing, following instruction and finally gaining the courage to put myself out there I finally did it, I finally published my first book, thanks for the videos and whether you purchase it or not, I just wanted to let you know that creators like you helped me become an indie writer, thanks for the lessons
I inspire to be a writer/artist because I want to make comics & you honesty helped me put a lot of thought into how I form my power system & how it affects my overall aching world. Thank you.
Another great example of a story that handles method #6 (worldbuilding) fairly well is the Vault Comics series "Powerless", set in a world where superpowers are so common place that they are thoroughly catalogued and are an essential part of every industry in the world.
I agree with everything except the Supercell observation at 9:46 . We’re just one season in. I think it’s a bit too early to talk about character development. Heroes don’t just change overnight after getting their powers, imo.
I'm of a similar mind. If anything I'd say that the way they use their powers perfectly fit into what we know of the characters demonstrating that even if they spontaneously became super they'd still be the same person who does the same things just nnow with extra power
@@Xenotango364 lantern rings are lame and inconsistent. If your imagination is the limit, and you can freely choose your weapon, then building machine guns should not be the limit to your imagination.
You're wrong about the Deadpool movie. Their main interest in the movie was preserving the most desired outcome of a broken timeline AND preserving the timelines as a whole. If the timelines were destroyed, they'd have been destroyed as well. Healing factor notwithstanding.
You need to stop watching superhero movies through the lens of anime, manga and cultivation novels. There's a reason the power systems are kept like that. I was particularly angry at you mentioning flash when you refused to mention the existence of a speed force and it's relations to the speedster. Moreover, the context is never about the power system but the use of the power itself. Hope you understand 🙏
If the writers made it so that the speedsters in The Flash's universe never know exactly how fast they'll be each time they run, I reckon it'd make a lot more sense and be a lot more interesting to watch than whatever it was they actually did in the series.
@@diegoanivasa7867 I would argue that that will just be flat down dumb, as a comic fan, whenever a speedster doesn't have a sense of their current top speed they tend to fail; Case in point: Quick Silver🌚
