Wow, really faithful to Paul Pena's original track. Several million people have no idea Steve Miller did not write this song. We used to see Paul on Cape Cod back in the late 60's, before he went on the road and had success. His cousin is now my drummer. Paul was one talented guy, never got the credit he deserved. But that's the music biz for you. At least Paul made some good money from this song and it sustained him, though he died too young. This version has the soul of Paul's original. Nice.
Ryan & Company, John from Chicago, Illinois. Great job on Paul Pena's Jet Airliner tune. Lots of room for some great guitar solos. I would love to see the band if you guys come out here. Have a great summer! :)
the best cover version ever, awesome, you guys give this classic Paul Pena song justice, you guys should come to womad here in New Zealand, it's held at New Plymouth, it's a collaboration of musicians and all genres from around the world, you'll love it, abit of everything for everyone, unknown too known and to famous musicians converge here for the event.
Paul Pena did the best version of his song. This is an okay cover. Sounds like they're imitating Pena, that's all. Steve Miller made it a very different version, for better or worse, he didn't just blindly follow Pena.
@@patricias5122 in this day and age, this version is the best I've ever heard, Steve Miller version helped Paul, shame really, considering that Paul Pena version is better than Steve Miller version, compare these guys with Steve Miller, even though different era, Steve is purely for the radio, make a quick $$$, they just don't put any emotion in it, where as these guys give it justice, my opinion of course.
Paul Pena had some dispute with Bob Dylan over this song & Dylan blocked Pena from releasing it so he gave it to the Steve Miller Band to release. SMB changed it to their style but because they did that and it was a hit, Paul Pena was paid royalties to help his living situation in the 70s. Plus he was sick as well.
I wanted to hate this because I’m a cynical person, but this is fucking wonderful. Wow, the lead singers voice just brings it all together with this amazing band.
The TRUE version of this song!! Rockin’ fellas!!
Love Pena’s original lyrics to this song - the meaning comes through clearly.
Viva the memory and music of Paul Pena!
This makes my heart so happy! I thought I was one of the 5 fans left who remember Paul Pena!
Paul was great, great live too.
Long live Paul Pena
That's the funk we had all been missing out on for decades.

A very good cover of Paul's original. The vocal phrasing and the laid-back guitar really make it authentic. Well done guys!
